Vicki coached two of our children for college prep. Her history of knowledge and experience in this area were immeasurable when it came to tackling all the forms, essays and deadlines. Our family highly recommends Vicki Ross at College Strategy because of our incredibly positive experience with her this past year. We have used other college counselors for our older daughter and our experience was not in any way as positive and successful as our experience with Vicki. Our son had a very easy time with his essays, applications and working up his college list of schools with Vicki. She is very organized, very professional, and knows a lot of strategies and insights into schools and the admission process. She is very good at empowering students to take control of the process and work independently with her on the applications, which was wonderful for me! Most importantly, she understand and likes teenagers and is fun and easy for them to work with. She was available to me for support for any concerns or issues that came up during the process. Vicki stayed engaged with our son, via texting (the only way to reach him!), by sending information and ideas to him to ensure his success. Vicki also has the ability to work with different kinds of kids with different needs and different working styles. We know of other friends who have used her and each kid, though they were very different "types" of kids, was extremely happy and very successful working with her. Our son really enjoyed working with her and we are thrilled with the experience and with the results! We cannot recommend Vicki more highly! I can't recommend Vicki and College Strategy enough. She gave terrific advice to my Junior, and really pushed her when working with her on her essays to rework and rewrite them, so she could represent herself in the best light possible. She recommended schools we hadn't thought of - one of which my daughter will attend, participating in their honors program. And she received such a big scholarship that it was more cost-effective for her to attend that particular school than having her stay in-state!Vicki was encouraging, but quite focused, and she kept us all from being completely overwhelmed by the process of applying to schools. Vicki Ross at College Strategy is the most wonderful resource our family has utilized in a long time! Â We began working with her last summer, when it was time for our son to begin the college application process. Â Vicki helped us to create a list of colleges that would be good matches for what he was looking for, and helped guide the entire application process, keeping us on track with all the deadlines (he applied to 9 schools). Â This in itself was a godsend. Â She also worked with him to refine his essays, which carried over from summer into the Fall semester. Â With all the things a high school Senior has going on, it was really great to get regular guidance on everything he needed to do. Â He made all of his deadlines (even the ones listed in small print on the college websites :), and then had plenty of time to look into scholarship and Honors applications. Vicki was extremely helpful in answering any questions we had about the process, and assisted us every step of the way. Â We are so thankful to have found her--she is so professional, knowledgeable and personable. Working with Vicki was an absolutely wonderful experience for us! Our son was interested in going out of state and we were not very familiar with schools in the areas where he was interested. As a team, Vicki and Cole came up with the specific criteria for what kind of college experience he was looking for and would also be a good fit for him both academically and socially. Vicki was able to create a list of schools with pertinent details for each school. With that information, we took off to visit schools. Once he made selections of his schools, the application process began and was seamless. The application process involved Vicki and Cole which ensured a peaceful household without nagging to get things completed! I highly recommend using Vicki as a college planner...it made the process so pleasant. We look forward to using Vicki again in a few years when our other son will be ready to start the search!
