Best place in Wilmington to learn MMA! Great instructors that go above and beyond to help their students! You will not find a better studio anywhere close to this one in Wilmington. Master Richardson and his instructors know and understand what they teach. If you really want to learn and earn your belts then this is the place for you! We have been attending Coastal Martial Arts Academy as a family for about 2 years now, and we love it! My daughter instantly fell in love with the Little Dragons class for youngsters when she was 5. Master Harris and Master Richardson are amazing with the kids! Kids love them, and it is obvious that they love to teach. My daughter loved the tumbling and forms lessons, as well as learning the basic self defense moves and the fitness activities involved. She has progressed to a green belt and has had lots of fun competing in tournaments. Joining CMAA has inspired our whole family to adopt a lifestyle of fitness and healthy living! I have really enjoyed taking the Kick2Fit cardio kickboxing class and the women's self defense classes. I have lost weight, made new friends, and gained so much confidence over the last 2 years, all thanks to CMAA! The CMAA team has really created a wonderful "family" of students and parents, and I am so grateful for all of the joy and inspiration they have brought into our lives! More...

My daughter has been attending Coastal Martial Arts Academy for over 8 months now and she LOVES it! We observed 2 other schools before going to CMAA and we're so glad we found them! Master Burnie and Master Ron have that perfect balance of teaching them what they need to know while having fun which makes the kids want to come back again and again. Our daughter has been attending Coastal Martial Arts Academy almost a year and a half. We are impressed with how Master Ron Harris structures the program to encourage the children to participate and have fun at the same time as learning Martial Science. He always treats each and every child as if they were his own. Emily absolutely LOVES attending and learning every aspect of Martial Science. She has improved in many areas, including discipline, focus and she has a better sense of achievement. Her confidence level has sky rocketed as well. Emily is also an Assistant Instructor and she assists with teaching classes. CMAA is an exceptional program. We appreciate all the knowledge that is taught to our daughter. We highly recommend Coastal Martial Arts Academy (CMAA) and are happy to have Emily be a part of such a great studio. Master Ron Harris is a man of moral, integrity, and tradition. He is committed to training his students to be outstanding. .. and not simply physically. While other programs focus on flash and bang, Master Ron and his associated prefer to focus on tradition, respect, and true leadership.If you are looking for your kids to have crazy colored hair, flipping and flopping, and screaming like a banshee, Master Ron may not be the instructor for you.If, however, you are looking for an environment of respect and camaraderie, you may want to consider checking out CMAA to see if Master Ron's program is good fit. My son began martial arts classes at Coastal Martial Arts Academy when he was 3. He is now 4. Within the year he has developed the ability to show respect to adults and other children, follow both simple and complex instructions, memorize a series of gross motor skills related to martial arts, perform various skills when called out by the instructor, has the opportunity to lead the class with universal commands, and experience socialization. He has completely transformed into a polite young man due to the repetitious disciplines that his instructors engrave into their character. My 7 year old son has been taking classes at this dojo for awhile now. We are grateful for the expertise and passion the team at CMAA brings to the classes.
