Just wanted to say thanks @club_iron for their coaching and checklist and say I would highly recommend checking out their checklist if you are trying to meet a certain strength or fitness goal. I’ve always counted on Jiu Jitsu, and MMA classes and training to keep me in shape and for cardio. However, I sometimes felt I could be stronger on the mats. Over the years I tried dozens of workout “programs” and diets and although I was able to make improvements, they were never sustainable, or realistic for an extended period of time. Whether they took too much time, took away from jiu jitsu, caused me to gain too much weight, or were just too radical to maintain. The checklist that John and his club use is not like that. It is flexible, sustainable, tailored to you both by diet and strength, simple to follow, and provides quantifiable data to review for progress, etc. Additionally, John was very responsive, knowledgable, and more than happy to coach and adjust anything on the checklist to meet your goal, or to correct form in the case of lifts, etc. The diet is a huge plus too, the flexible dieting allows you to eat foods you would regularly eat all while tracking macronutrients to ensure that you are staying within certain ranges. All of that stuff is great, but most importantly, it works. I told John I wanted to reduce my weight and increase strength for jiu jitsu. I did one block (3 weeks of lifts, and retest for strength) and followed his diet coaching. I am down 5 lbs, and my deadlift and bench are up 25 lbs, and my squat is up 30 lbs, I feel stronger on the mat, and don’t feel slower. I have started block 2 and will continue to use the checklist, and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks again! More...

I jumped around commercial gyms for a few years, working out aimlessly, doing what I thought I knew best. When I came to Club Iron John put me on a training program, which I had never ran one before. It was understandable and simple, yet effective with a solid progression scheme. I have gone through about 4 of his programs and have made progress on every one of them, but had to change them to fit my schedule and keep it maintainable for my life style. No cookie cutter programs or meal plans. No commercial BS personal training. Everyone is approachable and everyone has something to teach you. The coaches here are qualified and they will actually teach you their knowledge so that you dont have to lean on them forever. Also, ive never been a weight loss client, but if you are and are looking to lose the weight the right way, come here. Its easy to be intimidated, but once you have your first session you will realize how nice and genuine even the strongest members are. More...

This gym is exactly what I was looking for in a strength training facility. The owner, John, is inviting, supportive and informative. As a powerlifter it’s hard to find an atmosphere that values strength and the barbell lifts. This spot has it all...numerous bars and plenty of plates. Chalk is encouraged! People are respectful of the equipment and of other lifters. From beginners to advanced level athletes they can all find a home here. #usapl #usapowerlifting More...

In a town full of fitness studios, big box gyms, personal training salons etc, Johns gym stands head and shoulders above the rest. What he lacks in space (as of now) he makes up in quality equipment, organization and no wasted space. I love training here and getting to use his equipment. The gym also offers coaching in Powerlifting and Bodybuilding by competent and qualified coaches. I do not hesitate in sending young athletes and seasoned ones alike to Club Iron and as an educator by profession and lifter by hobby, I value the knowledge each person receives when they visit Club Iron. If you haven’t tried Club Iron or are planning a visit to the beautiful Temecula Valley, you would be well served by visiting Club Iron. More...

Coming to club iron has completely stripped me of every preconceived notion I’ve had about fitness. After being educated by the coaches at this gym I went from being a straight cardio gal on a 1200 calorie diet to lifting heavy and actually enjoying food again with out feeling guilt or fear of weight gain. This gym has educated trainers, top level equipment and a friendly environment that motivates and inspires. I highly recommend checking out the program that the owner John has running out of the gym as well, not only does it provide an increase in strength but it’s flexible and so much fun! People of any level of fitness would benefit from what club iron offers. More...
