Used to love Gilded Otter... years ago tried to get new owner to recognize success of prior owners menu and happy hour.. . the place used to be packed,wall to wall(yes i know about Covid but) and we locals went often, all year long and with relatives and friends... The WORD in NEw Paltz from tons of people is that the menu and food is woeful compared to old menu...the Happy Hour that brought lots of us locals in on a regular basis is gone...the beer menu is only to be viewed on your phone...the fires are horrible...limp or over done...we went last week hoping against hope to re kindle our favorite place and after reviewing the burger laden menu...the parmesan fries(which sound yummy but are in need of Viagra!)...the lack of any vegan options(for some)...no "specials" ,,,no Happy Hour" ...no readable beer list with prices... ugh! I get it...like I told the owner before...they will always get the tourists and SUNY parents... so I guess they dont care about us locals...but please try fries anywhere else... to compare yours!ugh! I remember the Cod fish special dinners oh was that great...my wife loves a good burger...hers was not good when we went and we didn't go with an agenda...we were full of hope/...oh well...we had to walk out last week...hate doing that...TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: OWNERS..."CHEF"(?) LOOK OVER THE OLD MENU...BRING BACK THE OTTER FRIES...THE MARGARITA PIZZA...A READABLE BEER MENU...SOME ENTICING SPECIALS...A HAPPY HOUR...LOCALS MISS THEGILDED OTTER...SORRY for the harshness...New Paltz is not Middletown...fix your menu please! I also miss Karl,,,the best greeting host...made you feel welcome instead of "Hello...three, inside or out...please follow me?" More...

My family and I came in for dinner tonight and everything from the service to the food was excellent! We highly recommend the French Onion Grilled Cheese, the Star Victor, and their Parmesan truffle fries! Phenomenal!! 10/10!

we arrived with a group after work, and were approached quickly by one of the managers and told that if we were expecting a large group, we would need to rent the patio space for the night for the cost of $250 p/hour. mind you, at this point we had about 10 people outside, with maybe 5 others outside total. we had planned to have a pretty large gathering, purchasing a lot of food and drinks for a couple of hours, but after that approach, some of us had nothing, and some left almost right away. our bartender/ waitress was very nice, and apologized for how rude the manager had been. either way, I won't go back. My son and I both had burgers with fries that were different and delicious. And I loved my jalapeno Cole slaw. We took home a Crowler and some jerky. Mariah was a wonderful bartender/waitress. I told her she must listen to the song, "The Wind they Call Mariah" from the play/movie, "Paint your Wagon!" More...

Finally got to stop at Clemson Bros! It was fantastic! The beers were tasty, the atmosphere wonderful, the food fabulous! I will totally be back for the pierogi appetizer and the grilled chicken CBR sandwich. So good!!!
