SO much love for the staff at Classical Concepts! Beyond doing an amazing job on hair (Thanks Renee!), they’ve gone out of their way to ensure my 6 year old, who tags along on hair appointments spur of the moment, has an amazing time too, from tea to trying on some lip gloss.

I called at 10am, panicking a bit because I put off a hair color for three months after moving to the area, and I am going to a work conference in two days. Not only did I get an appointment in less than 2 hours, but Renee did a fabulous job with my hair and got me in and out quickly. I don't have a ton of time for hair appointments, and I am not the sort of gal who does a great job booking them well in advance and keeping them. Classical Concepts has this nifty 'book online' feature that solved all my problems. I found a great stylist with an opening today at a convenient time, and added on an eyebrow shaping which full disclosure, I wouldnt have thought to ask for in advance if I'd called. I know it's silly to give bonus points for flexible technology, but like honestly - the only way to stop my milk delivery is to call an answering machine, and I always forget and it gives me agita. So bonus points. Now about the salon:-this place is huge! it's sunny, and welcoming and it looks out on congress park-It smells really nice-I got a free essential oil head massage, which was a lovely bonus suprise-Both of the people I saw were friendly, efficient, and good at their jobs-I came out looking great-it was way more affordable than the place I have been going in Albany (which one almost never says about Saratoga!)Nice job, Classical Concepts, I will be back. Made an appointment same-day on a whim when I felt like I could stand to lose a few inches (and get my bangs trimmed). I'd never been here before, so I didn't expect to be offered a scalp massage prior to my wash! Such a nice surprise. My stylist was very patient when I kept giving her vague and ambiguous responses to her questions  it's been a while since I'd gotten a hair cut by someone I don't know, and I forgot that more specific is always better. The layers were beautiful, but the appointment prior to mine had run late, and as such I was running into my stylist's next appointment. She finished my cut and trim and then passed me off to a different stylist for my blow dry, which was fine. They were both great, I just wish the time was managed a little better so I didn't feel like my cut was being rushed. More...

I decided to get my hair done on a whim and saw this place with the $$$ price rating. But hey, it's a treat yourself Sunday and I wanted to chop my locks. I called to make an appointment and was accommodated within the hour. The receptionist was friendly and professional, and offered me a really mild, naturally sweet tea (just my type). I was brought to my chair and offered a scalp massage. Um. Of course I figured an extra $15 or $20 is whatever at this point. Go hard or go home amirite?So I got my massage and the stylist, Kathleen, used this amazing stress-busting aromatherapy oil and my worst semester's worth of stresses melted away. You can just tell everyone there loves their job and takes it really seriously. All of the products they used smelled amazing, and at the end of it I came out with a hairstyle that suited me really well! 10/10 would chop hair again, and the whole thing was RIDICULOUSLY affordable. I thought they missed a 1 in front of the price for the attention my hair got. And no charge for the massage either?! You can't go wrong here if you want a relaxing day. Elizabeth was awesome!! I left feeling so relaxed, happy and confident. The customer service was wonderful. I worked at an Aveda spa in VT as a massage therapist for three years and always loved my stylist there so much (Nicole at Five Elements Salon and Day Spa) but I moved and it is too far of a drive now. Wow! So professional from the lovely receptionist who greeted me this morning to Jessica who was off the charts! The Aveda  products were part of why I choose this salon but the venue and staff were extraordinary. My blowout was perfect!

FINALLY! I have really difficult hair that stylists tend to underestimate the time and skill it takes to do a manageable hairstyle for me.  Since moving back to the LG area 4 years ago I have been on the hunt for someone who can consistently give a good haircut. I have long multi-textures very thick hair. It does not lend itself to a short style, as I would have to do it everyday and it tends to just turn poofy. My sister recommended finding an Aveda salon, so I took her advice. I explained my hair needs and the receptionist gave me two options, so I went with Renee.  I have not had haircuts this good for at least 15 years. She listens, pays attention while she works, and gave me exactly what I was asking for. I have never dyed my hair for a few reasons, but my 7 year old told me my grey is working for me anymore LOL.  So I might give it a shot. My sister swears by their due process.  Also, I have paid A LOT of money for a haircut, and the price here is fair and always stays the same. No sneaky costs. More...

Went in for a massage this afternoon and had one of the best experiences!  In full disclosure, I worked at the front desk here 8 or so years ago, however they have since remodeled and expanded and the place is beautiful! !  Everyone was very friendly and I found the masseuse (Mike, I believe) to be incredibly knowledgeable. He explained the massage process ahead of time, inquiring about my specific needs or concerns. Probably one of the best massages I've ever had. Price was on par with other places in the area.I will definitely be back for more massages in the future!! I was recommended to go see Amanda Dugan to get my hair dyed. She's such a friendly person and really knows what she's doing and she has no problems answering any question I have. I feel very comfortable going to her and trusting her with handling my hair and will continue to see her. Amanda is such a sweet girl and really puts the time and thought into her work. One of the things I love about the salon itself is that all of the other staff are so supportive of each other. It's really nice to see them be so friendly and build each other up while working together professionally. If you're on the fence about choosing a salon, I would definitely recommend Classical Concepts, everyone there is so friendly and they really care about their customers. I highly recommend Amanda Dugan! I have been seeing her regularly for the past few years for all of my cuts, highlights, blow outs, and the occasional "beachy wave" style for a fun night out! Amanda has taught me how to use a round brush and blow out my own hair and never disappoints in getting the perfect recipe of blonde! I was in town for a work related conference and wanted to pamper myself with a new haircut and manicure/pedicure. I had a wonderful reception that included endless cups of hot and fragrant herbal tea and met a lovely stylist who took care of me from start to finish. I wish I remember her name, but I remember she was formerly a beauty school teacher in Albany and was commuting to this location as she said she missed having clients in her chair. I must say, I am a "no -maintenance kind of lady" and have natural platinum highlights in my long hair, and the cut she gave me is the best I ever had. It looks great when I blow it out myself or leave it natural/curly. I am so grateful to her, and to top it off, she was easy to be with for the couple of hours I spent at the salon/spa. I highly recommend this spa/salon and felt pampered and comfortable the entire time because I was treated as if I was a "regular" and not a "day-tripper". More...

This was a wonderful massage center. The masseuse was talented and knowledgeable, even recommending different exercises afterwards based on the tightness of certain muscle groups. It was slightly pricier than I was used to but that's okay because the quality was higher as were the extras they threw in like heated rocks and oils. Loves this place! New to the area and I've been to a few other salons, but this is by far my favorite! I'll definitely keep coming back! And since I have a short cut that's saying a lot since I cut it every 6-8 weeks! I had Shannon who was spectacular and knew just what I wanted, looked at my idea pictures, offered suggestions, and made my hair look fantastic! The scalp massage (shoulders and arms too!) included in the price made the price completely worth it! Best $60 I've spent on a hair cut in a long time! ASK FOR JULIE! She is the BEST! It had been 2 years since I got my hair cut because I was fed up with paying for bad hair cuts. It seemed harder and harder to find a hairstylist that genuinely cared. I had one of the best experiences at this salon and Amanda was great! The new renovations were beautiful, the entire place was so clean and all of the staff was very nice. If you are looking for a great place for a balayage, this is one of the best (and trust me this is the third salon I've been to for a balayage and it definitely topped the other salons I've visited, and for a great price too!). The thing that really sold me on the place though was Amanda. She was clearly very experienced with coloring hair and I've never had a stylist care so much about the end result. She was a perfectionist in all the best ways and that clearly translated into how great my hair came out. She was also super friendly and funny, which made the appointment that much better since I was struggling through a morning appointment after a long night out. Even though I live in Albany, I will definitely be travelling up to Saratoga for all of my next hair appointments! More...
