Q&As

So much it’s hard to figure out where to begin. First and foremost, I love creating meaningful relationships with my clients. I get to sit down, have a cup of tea in a beautiful setting and have profound and interesting conversations with people all day long. I mean...how cool is that?? So that’s the biggest thing. But since starting CCBH, I’m also now an entrepreneur and I LOVE that too! I am so passionate about creating safe, warm, loving places for our clients but also for our staff. For so many people, work is a place of stress and worse yet, hostility or toxicity. I think it is so amazing that I get to create a work environment where people can be their totally authentic selves, where they feel passionate and creative and inspired, where they feel like they are making a real difference, in their clients lives but also in the world at large. It’s been amazing :)

I was in a role I loved at my former employer - doing therapy with a diverse group of interesting people, training dozens of soon-to-be psychologists and all with a work family who I loved (and still have relationships with to this day). But the hours were really long, the schedule was brutal and inflexible and I felt like a cog in the wheel - that my only value came in doing what was asked of me without questioning or challenging it. And I had a toddler at home and a baby on the way and I just kept thinking...there’s gotta be a better way. So I went looking to figure out what that “better way” might be but the only problem is that there really wasn’t an already establish better way. So I created what I wanted for myself and felt so good about that, I wanted to offer it to others. And CCBH was born :)

First and foremost, we’re the best of the best. Every clinician we hire is rigorously trained with amazing experience but that can be true of a lot of people. What’s different about everyone who works for me is that they have that “thing” you simply cannot teach. Everyone here has a totally natural warmth - they make everyone around them feel so comfortable, on or off the job. They are those people where you start talking to them and almost instantly feel safe and understood and at ease. They are real people and don’t hide behind “professional objectivity”. They can somehow combine total professionalism with endearing humanness. Their work is exceptional and they can help people generate amazing changes in their lives but you as the client don’t ever feel like you’re talking to “A Doctor”. We laugh with you, we cry with you, we walk with you, no matter how dark or unpleasant the path is, and can be our clients’ constant when everything else seems so up in the air.
