Ordered a cigar lei online to ship to California for my father's birthday celebration. Beautiful and fresh lei arrives a day before the event. I took away one star because the cost FedEx shipping was $55 for a service to be delivered by 10:30 am. This package was delivered after 12pm so I should have just requested standard overnight which would cost me a few dollars less. The shipping cost more is almost twice as the cost of the than lei. They are so nice even when they answer the phone. Sometimes in Hawaii business's can be rude but Cindy's staff is incredibly nice and the best value. This HaKu is 4 days old and looks gorgeous. My first trip to Hawaii was in 1986! Wow, even I can't believe it. One memory that stands out is I was fortunate enough to stay in the "Pink Lady" or the Royal Hawaiian Hotel on Waikiki! A stay there is worth the trip itself!Greeting our large group was a lovely lady with the most magnificent and fragrant flowers id ever seen. Cindy personally "leid" each of us and I can't describe how magnificent that memory is.I was reminded of this shop by Lyla D. when I told her my granddaughter was coming to Honolulu and I wanted her to get a lei. Cindy's Lei Shoppe in Honolulu is the best! I ordered a Chop Suey Haku flower crown and a lei today for a very special birthday and not only were the flowers so BEAUTIFUL and fresh, they were able to deliver them on the same day so quickly! ! Cindy's has always been the flower shop I would go to since I trusted them from past experience but no more. Yesterday was our wedding celebration and two weeks ago I ordered a few leis with pikake and pakalana for an 8:00 am pick up. when I arrived at the store, a friendly lady greeted me. I told her my name and order and she went behind to check. it took a while but when she returned she said she couldn't find the order. I told her I had called two weeks ago (spoke to a young lady) to order and they weren't sure about the flowers. So she said to place the order and call back the Thursday before. when I called on Thursday I spoke to a young man who told me that it didn't look good for the availability of flowers on Saturday so they would go with my original order. Well he must have misplaced the order because it wasn't there for pick up. the lady that day helped me pick out a whole new selection for the wedding; which worked out fine. However, at the reception friends arrived with tons of pikake and pakalana leis and when I asked them where they got it from, they named the lei stand that I had originally called to order (and who guaranteed my order) but who I had canceled based on Yelp reviews; which were pretty negative. You can bet your bottom dollar that I'll never use Cindy's ever again because they didn't think that my important day was important enough to ensure that my order was taken properly and filled. A few months ago, I was in a bind and needed to find a beautiful lei in a pinch. I quickly googled "inexpensive leis Chinatown" and Cindy's popped up. I called and the gentleman that answered was so friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I don't recall his name. My price range was up to $25 for a nice smelling beautiful lei. He recommended a gorgeous ribbon style orchid ginger mix within my budget. I thought I had taken a picture but I can't seem to find it. Cindy's has a wide selection for all different budgets. I am so grateful that Cindy was able to squeeze my Oder in for wedding leis and a flower crown. I had placed an order in advance for my husband and I's wedding photoshoot. It was during the same week that graduations was going on plus it was right after Mother's Day weekend. She explained that they may be short on certain flowers which I completely understand. Cindy's is the place to go for your leis and basic flower orders. I called them last minute for a memorial service and placed orders for eight leis, an urn and portrait arrangement and a table top arrangement. This was on a Friday. Monday was a holiday. And they delivered on a Tuesday morning on time. Everything was beautiful! Beautiful designs and very original. I was delighted! I had seen Cindy's Lei and Flower Shoppe online while researching flower shops for a wedding in the area, so when I happened to pass by it while walking around Chinatown, I was excited to stop by and see their store for myself. I wasn't really looking for wedding flowers at this time, just wanted to buy my brother and friend leis for their first time visiting Hawaii. They had wanted to be lei'ed on arrival to Hawaii but weren't able to due to COVID regulations. So, I joined the short line and waited patiently. There were only 2 employees at the time, but they were working efficiently to make sure each customer had all their questions answered about which leis could be flown back to the mainland, how much each lei would cost, bulk order inquiries, etc. They were very informative and friendly, so when it came my turn, I didn't feel too bad about pointing to their "Ask about our $10 leis" sign. The kind man let me know they had 2 varieties of purple and yellow plumerias and I decided to get one of each. He even let me inspect the leis before taking them out of the refrigerator and also let me choose a ribbon color for them. Regretfully, I walked right past Cindy's Lei shop on my way to another vendor. Needless to say, I would have much rather given my business to Cindy's. The young men working the service counter were so incredibly kind, polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. They didn't make me feel pressured nor did they rush me into making any purchases. Their prices seem to better for their glamour hakus and they appear to be well-stocked. I was browsing online to pre-order my haku and lei for my 25th wedding anniversary. I am a mainlander and traveled to Waikiki to celebrate. I wanted a haku lei to take grad photos with and found this shop through Yelp. I called them right before and asked if they had any available. They told me that they have a variety of different ones at different prices. Sure enough, a half an hour drive later, I found several different types of haku leis. They ranged from $35-$70. The kind lady took out the $35 haku leis and told me I could have a better look at them. She opened each one out of their containers which was so nice! They all looked great so I chose one and paid. It was so simple and easy.The parking is a bit tricky. The area was crowded when I went so I didn't have any luck with street parking. Thankfully there is a parking garage right next to the shop. It was so quick that I didn't need to pay once I was done.I love how friendly and affordable this shop was! They also have so many other beautiful leis to choose from. Visiting Cindy's is always wonderful to choose from the wide array of lei available In the cases. It's exciting to find Ilima, crown flower, pua kenikeni, hala, or pakalana! Ordering from the mainland takes planning, because you have to work with the shipping schedule. The customer service Is outstanding. They will let you know If something won't ship well because of the weather or help accomodate a request, such as adding a little tuberose to an angel lei. Packed so well and arrives so fresh! My grandson's sophomore banquet was fast approaching and a couple of days prior to the evet, he asked me if I could get a nice lei for his date. After checking out 4 lei vendors, I decided to go with Cindy's. Their lei was fresh and a lot fuller than the others and very similar in price. The people there were very friendly and helpful. They showed me the different varieties of leis that were available and also suggested several options for me to consider. I told them I would call to place an order after I discussed with my grandson, his decision on which lei to purchase.I spoke with Nick, who took my order. He told me to call 10 minutes prior to my arrival, so they could look out for my vehicle and have someone run it out to me (curbside delivery). If you've been to Chinatown on a weekend, parking is IMPOSSIBLE.
