Cinch

We did the cooking class at Cinch this weekend and had a great time! Shawn the chef was outgoing and gregarious, but beware. .if you don't bring a bottle of white wine he might poke fun at you, if you do bring a bottle of white wine he will DEFINITELY poke fun at you.. the class was loose and relaxed and although everyone participated in creating the dishes it was more like being at a live cooking show than a class at times. Because of Shawn's high energy personality and depending the menu, I suspect the amount of participation will vary from class to class. The food was outstanding...our least favorite of the 5 dishes we prepared was very good, the rest of them were amazing! Great pasta making class! Shawn was knowledge and entertaining. The recipes were simple and delicious. We made gnocchi, pici, agnolotti, and tortellini. I'd never made pasta before. The class was a fun introduction. I look forward to taking a few more classes. More...

My sister's bridal shower took place at Cinch this past weekend and I couldn't be more pleased with how the day went. I spoke with Shawn on several occasions and each time, he was very friendly and answered all of my questions and concerns. The day of the shower, we were able to arrive early and set up a few decorations and each of the chefs on hand that day were extremely helpful and accommodating. We did a Chopped-style competition and even though we had 31 people at the shower, everyone was able to comfortably stand at a station and help prepare their meal. A lot of guests were a little intimated having to cook, but with the help of the staff they got right into it. Without a doubt, everyone had an amazing time, loved the food, and loved the fact that this was something so different and fun for a bridal shower. I had Cinch cater a dinner for 40 people at my house. We wanted something simple and Sean suggested (marinated) grilled steak and (marinated) grilled chicken with side sauces - horseradish and honey sriracha. We chose two side salads - mixed greens with goat cheese, dried cranberries, and candied walnuts (huge hit) and an Orange Fennel salad. The food was outstanding, all the steak and mixed green salad went and most of the other dishes. Several guests (who are serious foodies) were really impressed with the flavors. Not only was the food outstanding, Sean delivered the meal and supplied us with serving platters and utensils. It was a flawless meal and I look forward to using Cinch in the future. More...

I didn't expect such a great time at a cooking class. The chef is a little out their and opinionated but it was an unbelievable evening. We did everything from fine dicing shallots to shooting flames in the air with bourbon for the au poivre sauce. The food was awesome. I can't remember a time that I expected so little and was totally blown away. I would recommend a class to anyone. One of the best evenings I've had in a long time. Cinch provided the food for my son's graduation party last week. I ordered chicken, garlic shrimp, pesto pasta salad and the Mac & cheese. Everything was wonderful!
