Just wanted to say thank you to Ray for doing such a great job hosting 20 of us at dinner the other night.  Food was excellent, and I appreciate the nice little touches like the fresh flowers that were on the table.  It's not easy getting food out quickly for a group of 20, but you and your team definitely succeeded.  Everyone was super happy with the food and the "adult beverage" selections.  That Syrah I drank was excellent!  Great food, great service, and such a nice restaurant. Wanted to update the review since it has been several years since our last visit (why is that :).  After our dinner last night I can say Cibo is a hidden gem in Santa Rosa. Nice spacious interior and an outside seating area with a few tables. Very comfortable setting.  Menu has a lot of selections, Apps, salads, pasta, pizza and a couple of entrees, something for everyone.We decided on a few items and shared everything. Mama Rosa's  Meatballs were excellent, 3 Large Handmade Beef and Pork Meatballs Seasoned in Marinara Sauce and Topped with Parmesan. We opted for the Wood Roasted Organic Seasonal Vegetables instead of a leaf salad and glad we did, Carrots, Cauliflower, Asparagus, Spring Onions,Broccoli. Parmesan Cheese & Olive Oil. Crispy, flavorful and delicious.Last was the pizza and it was a winner.  Sausage & Mushroom had  Italian Fennel Sausage, Mushrooms, Tomato Sauce & Oregano. Dough had a nice chew and the toppings were plentiful.  A really good Neapolitan Style Pizza. Look elsewhere for a NY Style Pizza.Our server was very helpful and friendly giving us some of her favorites. The owner Ray is a great host, stopping by with some tastes of wine and we reciprocated by giving him a taste of the wine we brought.  The atmosphere and cordial welcome by Ray makes you feel like you are in Italy.  The value at Cibo is also excellent, all the menu items are reasonably priced.  Look forward to returning soon! WHY I CAME HERE- I wanted to go to a nice Italian restaurant with my family that would not "break the bank."AMBIANCE- nice classy interior with dark wood, brick, and white walls with some contrast. - this restaurant is surrounded with wine tasting rooms and a beer brewery so it has a nice vibe.  You can hear the freeway from the outdoor seating but it is not that loud.THE MENU:- appetizers- salads- pasta- pizzaSO HOW'S THE FOOD?Wood Roasted Organic Seasonal Vegetables: 4/5. Stumbled across this little gem when we were looking for a good local pizza in Santa Rosa. Walked in the door, and the place was jammed. ....not a free table anywhere. We were immediately greeted by Ray, who as it turns out is the owner. He grabbed us and took us out to the side patio, which he opened just for us. Ray took care of us all night, which he began with an unexpected surprise taste of a nice local wine. Coming from a group of super foodies- Best pizza outside of Italy! Meatballs are excellent..everyone in our 12 person party agreed they were so delicious! Mixed veggie salad was so flavorful and great touch with lemon juice on top. Polenta with bolognese was so creamy and sauce was perfect! Pizzas were all good and we tired 8 of them! No extra sauce and thin fresh crust! Wow!! Mushroom onion, pepperoni, marguerite, pesto with sausage, mushroom and sausage all incredible!!! Love music with Alexander was also a great surprise. I have gone here 3-4 times for pizza and will be going back again. They make very good wood fired pizza. They have several interesting kinds and one of the things I really like is that they "dust" most of them with only Parmesan cheese, no mozzarella. That really lightens the pizza up. They also have several Italian pasta's. One of these visits soon, I am going to have to try one because we got the meatball appetizer last time and the tomato sauce was delicious.Last time we were there, the owner came over and gave us a complementary roasted mushroom "taste, made with locally produced mushrooms. We then ordered the mushroom pizza. lol2 areas that could be improved. They could use a couple more servers. The restaurant was not busy and still service was a little inattentive. The server was always doing something but was stretched just a little too thin. The second thing is there wine list. The wines were $9/glass, a very good price these days. But the wines were really below average quality  (at least for this area), European table wine quality. Fix these 2 things and they would be 5-star in my book. More...

Really loved this play.  Ray the owner was a great host. Made you feel instantly at home.  The food was terrific.  I'd recommend this place to any one traveling through Santa Rosa - and im sure it's the favorite go to pizza of the locals.  Try this place !!!

Came in on a Sat night with a party of six. My friend had called an hr ahead to make reservations. We were seated promptly upon arrival, which is always a plus. This was a busy night, there were parties with no reservation 5 deep waiting on tables.The owner came by with small glasses of red wine (on the house). This was a nice touch and was very welcomed.Wifey ordered a small Margherita pizza, it was thin crusted, cooked to perfection and was very tasty. I had the special, it as rigatoni pasta with some kinda meat sauce....IT WAS WONDERFUL. I really really enjoyed it, I let a few of our party try it, they all had order envy.Only small snafu was that we had brought several bottles of wine. We had asked for them to be opened....we waited annnnd waited. We had to remind the waitress, she went and brought us a cork screw.  At the end of the meal, my friend asked if the corkage would be waived since we opened our own wine....waitress went and asked and said....no problem corkage waived....this was not expected but appreciated.This is a cozy old school Italian restaurant...I enjoyed the service and my meal was on point....I'll be back. Me and my husband were traveling and we're having a rough day and we wanted to grab some food and stopped by this beautiful place. As soon as we entered, we were served sample wine and it was awesome so we ordered a glass of it. The ambience, service and food was awesome. They don't have personal size pizza but when I asked whether they make one for me without a second thought he said yes and made me a personal size pan pizza and the cheese on the pizza was soo good and perfect. We had a party of 18 for my mother's 95th birthday party on Sunday, and from the moment we arrived, we were treated like extended family. The pizza and salads were truly delicious, and your wait staff was attentive - but we never felt rushed. Everything was perfect, and you helped make our mother's birthday one that was truly joyful. The kid had a soccer game in Santa Rosa and we were looking for a place to eat that was kid friendly.  To our surprise, Cibo was great for kids but even better for adults. We had a casual family party here the day after my son's wedding. Owner Ray D'Argenzio was the perfect host, serving up excellent pizza, pasta, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, along with a couple great bottles of D'Argenzio wine, and a platter of sugary zeppoles for dessert! So delicious and the service was wonderful. The owner talks to everyone and makes you feel at home. They have the best tasting marinara sauce. Came for a late lunch/early dinner the other night. It was empty other than ourselves and the staff. We were offered some free wine samples after being seated which was really quite nice. The wine was fantastic! The service was excellent all the way around. As for the food, it was some of the best and most authentic Italian food I've had in a while. We had the four course meal. The asparagus prosciutto, arugula salad, gnocchi porcini, and pepperoni pizza with a bottle of Colagtodsi Barbera. Everything was amazing. The owner was in and provided 3 small glasses of wine and a dessert for free.  Everything was really great, food was tasty, people were friendly. I love it!! Would definetly recommend this place. Wonderful spot ... casual surroundings, very attractively put together; relaxingly low lighting. We enjoyed a marvelous oven-roasted prosciutto-wrapped asparagus appetizer, followed by an exceptional mushroom and sausage pizza. The pizza had a great crust, flavorful sauce, and a generous amount of very tasty mushrooms of sausage - perfect. Their pizza is served with a dusting of Parmesan in lieu of mozzarella; all the flavors came together so nicely that we didn't even miss the melted cheese. Very warm welcoming restaurant. We stopped by around 2 pm and was seated quickly. We had the bruschetta and spicy pepperoni pizza. They use a wood oven to prepare their food so we enjoyed a ridiculously crisp crust. The whole experience was awesome. Ordered spumoni ice cream for dessert and it was perfect to share. We came into this location for lunch. Such a gorgeous location, very rustic woods very classy place. Seemed like upscale dinner place.  We were out at lunch time. The owner proprietor Ray nice white haired Italian man came out of the back with three glasses of his red wine that he makes at a winery right next door to the restaurant. We had fire roasted oven grilled in the 800 degree wood burning oven. Super  legit fresh roasted vegetables that were cauliflower broccoli asparagus brussel sprouts and red bell pepper with olive oil and garlic and absolutely to die for. I think they called it a roasted vegetables salad. And the vegetables were warm of course. We got a unreal pizza thin crust with fennel sausage mushroom spicy pepperoni onion & bruschetta. We also got the Mama's meatballs which was his mother's recipe and no joke the best meatballs ever had in my entire life, 56 years  old,  lol. 4 big very tender very juicy pork and beef meatballs. No filler no gristle and the best marinara sauce with real Italian tomatoes and just TDF. Then for giggles an interesting little oven toasted zucchini flour wrapped concoction of gooey buffalo mozzarella inside. Get over there and get on it. The place is dynamite!
