Q&As

One of the best things about my job is watching people develop self-compassion and understanding. When people can begin to see their patterns and learn from their history, they become empowered to make different choices.

I spent many years in a corporate environment working really hard at a job that did not feel meaningful. I got burned out but with support and guidance, I was able to change my life. Because I understand what it is like to feel lost and confused in life, I wanted to help others who feel the same way I have felt.

I have a broad perspective on life, I have lived the corporate life and non-traditional life. My life experience, education, and continued training allow me to understand and help a wide variety of individuals who may struggle to feel understood. I am passionate about investing in my clients well-being by continuing to train and learn with some of the most innovative thinkers in the field of psychology and counseling.

As a parent, you want nothing more than for your daughter to see how uniquely special she is. It is heartbreaking to watch your girl start to doubt herself, give up hobbies, become anxious, or to stop trying at things because it’s not “cool”.

Even in the most supportive family and school environments, some girls are just wired to be more sensitive to external social messaging. This can be confusing for her and make her feel like she has to fit a certain mold to be accepted for who she is. It can be especially difficult to manage given how closely our society is tied to technology.

I work with girls to help them discover who they are, what matters to them, and how to become confident in the face of challenges and obstacles. Working with me girls develop skills in emotional intelligence, which means identifying emotions and learning how to regulate them in ways that are helpful. Girls will learn how to use technology in a way that serves them and how to limit the aspects that are less beneficial. I also use mindfulness, art, and other therapeutic techniques to connect, support, and teach.

I offer late afternoon and early evening appointment times to accommodate for school and extracurricular activities. Therapy sessions are offered at my office or online for added convenience.

As a parent it is heartbreaking and frustrating to sense your teen is struggling and you can’t seem to figure out how to reach her anymore. You want nothing more than her happiness and for her to develop into a self-confident young woman that recognizes her unique special talents and gifts.

Even if you have provided your daughter with the most nurturing and supportive home and school environments, some girls are naturally more sensitive to the social messaging that tells them they have to be perfect, cool, and have everything figured out. The pressure can be overwhelming and cause your daughter to doubt herself, lose motivation, feel frustrated, anxious, and stressed.

Working with me teen girls develop the tools to go through high school and college life with clarity, confidence, and the knowledge that they have the skills to deal with life’s challenges. Through therapy teen girls learn how to embrace their own uniqueness, discover what matters to them, and how to live with a sense of purpose and direction that is not based on what everyone else on social media thinks about them.

As women we navigate so many different spaces and roles in our lives; we may be students, entrepreneurs, busy professionals, parents, partners, caregivers - it can feel like in order to have a successful life you have to be perfect in all these roles. Maybe from the outside, it even looks like you’ve got it together.

But you’re super stressed out, anxious, and exhausted on the inside. It’s all you can do to keep it together and you’re petrified of dropping the ball, of something falling through the cracks. Some days it feels like you’re barely keeping your head above water. Deep down inside you know something has to change and you’re somehow equally terrified of and desperate for the change.

How would it be for someone to really hear you for once? Imagine how good it would feel to unload some of your burdens, and untangle your worries with someone kind, non-judgemental, and compassionate. Someone you can be you with. I can help you. Working with me you will learn how to manage your stresses better and navigate the day to day challenges of your life. You will gain perspective on the past and clarity on the present which will help you create a future you can feel excited about. We will work together to reignite the spark of creativity, meaning, and purpose so that you can live the life you are truly meant to.

You think out of the box. You do things your own way and not how you’re “supposed” to. Maybe you work in the arts, food & beverage, or tech. Maybe you have a creative and innovative mind within a traditional field like medicine, finance, law, or academia. You have big ideas and big dreams and you work really hard to make things happen.

But sometimes you get tripped up. You go go go until you’re at the point of burnout. Your lifestyle is not really the healthiest and it’s starting to take a toll on your creativity, mindset, and drive. Stress is high and anxiety about a million different things is starting to take up too much mental space. It can start to feel like you’re on a hamster wheel of doing and there is less and less energy and time for new ideas to land and flourish. Your passion is starting to feel like a chore and that feels miserable.

Therapy offers the opportunity for you to loosen the reigns, to explore yourself and your needs more deeply, and learn how to set up your life so that you can manage the ups and downs in a way that you’re not thrown off course. As we work together l will help you develop the tools and gain the insights you need to keep connected to what you love doing for a long time so that you can live the life you are truly meant to.
