What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
The most important element is pacing. After playing high-energy music during peak-time, we all eventually need a break, a breakdown, a moment to breathe. This is a great opportunity to allow people to get emotional and form bonds with their fellow dancers– this might mean a sing-along classic, or a nervous slow dance, or even a little bump 'n grind.. . but we can't rest for too long! And so we pick up the tempo again.
The most overlooked secret is lighting. Sometimes, too much (outside) light can make people feel self conscious when it comes to dancing.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
I play Feel-Good, For The People music. My style is consultative, it depends on the client. Here are some examples:
- I have played high school and college formal events, themed and otherwise
- I have played at New York City MFA graduate school student parties
- I recently DJed a Polish-American wedding
- I have a Reggae, Dancehall and Dub vinyl collection
- I have radio show playing House, Techno, Jungle and Rave
- I saved an office Hallowe'en party by playing Trap, Pop and R 'n B from my smartphone
- If it were up to me, I could just play Disco Edits, Boogie and Disco House on a rooftop somewhere...

What do you love most about your job?
Simply put, I love soundtracking the moment when people deeply connect & form a memorable experience.
What inspired you to start your own business?
One evening, while at a wedding reception, a woman shared her story of how she turned a difficult experience (partial leg amputation due to cancer) into the centerpiece of her mission to help people with disabilities learn and thrive as rock climbers by founding a non-profit. She ended her story by saying: I had to make a space that worked for me.
