The food tasted great and was fresh. The lady that helped me when I walked in was very friendly, which can be hard to find now-a-days.

Great service, Great food. COVID safety procedures are outstanding. China Lights has always been my go to spot for the buffet.  The buffet is temporarily closed due to COVID, but the lunch special is inexpensive, quick and very large portions. The full menu is impressive with all my favorites. Moo Shu Pork and Hot and Sour soup are some of the best I've had.  Great, local, family owned restaurant! More...

We love China Lights. Their flavors and variety of food are second to none! We love eating in and having the yummy buffet! But we are also grateful that they have such great take out during this weird time!❤️ More...

For a buffet and take out spot, this is one of the best Chinese places in Anchorage. This family run business is friendly, clean, and has a good selection of typical Chinese restaurant offerings. Prior to covid, we would stop here every few months for lunch or dinner. The food was consistently good and we never encountered the shriveled/cold items that sometimes happen at buffets during off peak times. Today we stopped for takeout and selected two items from their $10 lunch menu. The Kung pao chicken and shrimp w/vegetables were both great. We also ordered an appetizer-- crab rangoons. Those are always great. I generally review places based on the type of establishment. This is a buffet/take out spot...so for what it is it is one of the best in Anchorage period. More...

Was not happy when I recieved my order , wonder if it's because I ordered at 8PM. You might want too rethink putting egg rolls in with the sweet n sour meal , it sank in the sauce. Very disappointed in this business. More...

3 stars, but would I come back? Absolutely. Here's the why:COVID-19: Great response. Required us to sign in for tracing purposes. Sat us plenty more than 6 ft from others. All patrons were seated quite far from each other. They use barriers of lined up chairs to create a flow of traffic. Prior to getting in line at the buffet bar, patrons are encouraged to use the hand sanitizer station. There's a sign requiring all patrons to put on the mask as well. Upon arriving at the buffet bar, servers are waiting to plate your food for you. Except for the pre-plated cold dishes, all hot items were served by the workers. You maze through then go back to your table. After eating, servers stop by with masks and gloves on to take away your plate. The chink in the armor? Patrons who dawdle through without masks. Punks. Service: From your first step to your bye bye, they're all pretty friendly. From cashier to the granny serving your plate, you genuinely sense a bunch of hard working ppl trying to get through this thing and keep their biz afloat. Quick and kind the entire way. Support local. These are everyday ppl without some major Corp to bail them out. Food: You know why you go to a local Chinese buffet. You're not at Caesar's Palace or freaking Norwegian Cruises. The fried shrimp's got a little more batter and isn't as crispy as you'd prefer. The wonton's got a heck of a lot of skin. The steamed fish is surprisingly dry and slightly chewy. You mean they're not replacing out the dishes with fresh ones every 20 minutes and throwing it all out?!? Nope. And I'm okay with it. I've been to some reallllllllllly bad Chinese buffets. Way more expensive than they're worth *cough* Whittier's only Chinese Restaurant with a lunch buffet *cough*. But this, it's not that bad. The noodles were stir fried to perfection as only Chinese can manhandle a super wok, Mongolian beef super savory and tender, the bbq ribs were literally fall off the bone, and my wife probably had like 30 pieces of their peanutty fried chicken cutlet. Ups and slightly downs. But nothing really DOWNNN. We came in starving after a super long bike ride and it was raining and cold. Got ourselves bowls of their piping hot sweet and sour as well as egg drop soups. HIT THE SPOT. You know why you come. You're hungry and want some variety. You know it ain't gonna be perfect but it always hits that spot. And when you're belly busting full and groaning in regret, you pack it up and beat it. Yeah you'll regret it a bit. But you know you'll be back!  Always. These guys are good and I think it's gonna go back to being even better like prior to Covid. Will I come again. Definitely. More...

We visited here for the first time last week as my friend wanted Chinese food. They have a very large buffet that's $24-25pp, but we didn't take part. They still however were following social distancing practices, mask requirements and traffic flow due to COVID-19 so that was cool. They'll even provide you a mask if need be.Our waitress was a little scattered at first, but several of the ladies there helped serve our table and check on us. We decided just to do the combo meals which were $18.50/pp and you get soup, two entree choices, fried rice and an egg roll. Had we known they'd be massive portion sizes we probably could've shared one and saved $20 :) So that's a good tip if you want to still dine out and you're on a budget. BIG PORTIONS.I had sweet and sour pork and almond chicken. Everything was good and your typical Americanized Chinese Food. Lots of fresh veggies that were crisp tender and not overcooked! I had enough to take home for another meal so that was a plus as well. I would likely return sometime in the future. More...

we got the Mother's Day Sumo family boil. All the shell fish was freezer burned, soggy potatoes, and no spice. some of it was battered but soggy and freezer burned with bland sauce. my anticipation was way higher than the delivery. so disappointing as this was all I wanted for Mother's Day. will not go again. they were so much better years ago. waste of $150 ☹ More...

I ordered the Szechuan beef combo special, which included fried rice and an egg roll for 16.95. Everything tasted fine but I was disappointed that the szechuan beef was mostly vegetables with not even 10 small slices of beef. Yes, I counted. I've been to their buffets a few times and I think that is the best value. This was delivered. More...

I ordered here for the first time, and it wasn't long before I ordered again.  Both times the delivery was very fast, it isn't worth worrying about the time.  I left instructions for them to leave it at the door and ring the bell because of the physical distancing that's going on right now, and unlike some other delivery places they followed my delivery instruction. The food is great.  It's perfect for what I expect from takeout cuisine of this type.  The portions are generous and the prices are great.  While China Lights is a new experience for me, it has been a great experience and on the rare occasion that I order takeout, it will be China Lights. This place is disgusting! Sesame chicken was dried out, the rice was definitely low quality, the soup looked like it has been sitting all day, the baby-back ribs were hard. All that money you pay and no hot water in the restrooms. The price you pay is outrageous for two people. I suggest you find somewhere else to eat More...
