Great place for breakfast! They have a lot of variety on the menu and some very different dishes. I had Harissa Shakshuka, which was a dish I had never had or seen anywhere. It was delicious! Love this place! Found it on yelp when we were looking for breakfast.Our server was Sara (she was excellent and very sweet) but all the staff were very nice and helpful. I had the biker breakfast (eggs, bacon, hash browns, and pancakes) and my boyfriend had the breakfast burrito - all the items were delicious and they came out quickly and piping hot on a busy Sunday late morning. Had brunch at Childers and I was not disappointed! The menu offers a variety of both classic American breakfast as well as other more adventurous cuisines and entrées such as the shakshuka which was delicious! We had omelettes as well as the shakshuka. The service was very fast and I went above and beyond expectations to make sure you had a great experience. My sister and I go to the Childer’s on University every Saturday morning. We have been going for years! Best breakfast in Peoria! But Jo Jo is the best and most efficient waiter and makes breakfast a delight! You leave with a smile on your face! In Peoria with friends for a couple of days. Used the Yelp app to find our restaurants. This one was Right in Target! Great breakfast. The food was excellent and the service ( our waitress Diane was Amazing!) was perfection. Breakfast croissant, bikers pancake breakfast, eggs Benedict and loaded oatmeal were all delicious! This is a cute and bright little breakfast and lunch spot in Peoria. I went to the University Blvd location for breakfast. I got a 1/2 order of the biscuits and gravy with a sunny side egg on top. My daughter got the avocado toast. Both of us loved our food and ate every bite. We loved our server and noticed that the other servers seemed friendly and on top of things as well. Stopped here for breakfast while in town on a short business trip and was pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, the food was tasty and the portions were generous for the price. I'm a bit of a tea elitist perhaps, only drinking loose leaf, but figured I had to relax my standards while traveling, so I was very pleased when I was brought out an Adagio strainer with some decent quality loose leaf earl grey and offered refills on the hot water. My go to breakfast spot. Food is hot and fresh. I prefer the university location to the junction city one because it feels less stuffy. Watch out for the parking lot, not the easiest thing to get in and out of. They changed the menu recently and got rid of the banana bread. Childers Eatery is a neat place to eat. We went for brunch and I appreciated the atmosphere. Upscale and very pretty with loads of flowers out front and nice decor. They didn't offer straws. Yay! I had the lemon blueberry French toast and it was delicious!! I ate every bite. It was topped with fresh berries and whipped cream and special syrup on the side. Will definitely order again. My mom and I decided to try Childers out because we are currently assisting my sister with wedding planning and she had selected Childers to be her caterer. Our first impression was that this place is a little on the small side. We also ended up waiting quite a bit, first at the door and again after we were seated. The place was very busy.We were definitely pleased with the menu. My sister is vegetarian and there were several vegetarian-friendly items. Even I was interested in trying a few of them.We ended up getting french toast (I think) and a frittata with steak. Everything we had tasted amazing, but freshly squeezed juice was a little pricey, glad we also got water.Our waitress was very friendly, but obviously had several tables to take care of. She was constantly rushing from table to table and seemed a little flustered. We did notice a table or two that had been seated after we got their food and drinks before we did. The place was full, but we only had to wait for a few minutes. Their website says "Peoria's Best Breakfast" and I feel that if you order the Shrimp & Grit Benedict, they're not braggin', but offering up FACT. It was SO delicious! And one of a kind too, which I always appreciate. Their coffee was really good. Hubby had the Greek Mushroom Omelet, and even though he ordered it withOUT the feta cheese, it was still great! Hadn't been to Childers in YEARS.My buddy suggested we have breakfast at Childers last Saturday.The parking lot was packed and the place full. Zero issues getting a table immediately followed by prompt service. Waitress was awesome, can't ask for better. Provided a pot of coffee and carafe of water. PERFECT :) I like the new look of the place. Also like the touchpad system the servers are using.I got a skillet, it was phenomenal. Childers recently catered our wedding reception off-site, and the food was delicious. They were accommodating to our non-traditional dinner format with hors d'oeuvres and a taco bar, which our guests really enjoyed. Childers was up front about costs, and their staff and servers are friendly and professional. Delicious and busy. We drove from Morton because of the reviews on Yelp! The cheddar biscuits were fantastic, moist, and flavorful. The gravy homemade and the peppered bacon, thick. As someone with an egg allergy, this place has a fairly large egg-based menu.
