What else can I say this is the go to spot in buffalo. If you're a tourist, if you're a local, if you just crave pasta covered in pounds of cheese. I've loved this place since I was a kid. 9 years later since my last review, I thought an update was in order. The restaurant has now been renovated in the entrance area, and it looks much better--not as tight quarters when you're waiting for a table with other customers. Tonight, we called to reserve a table at 8:00pm and as soon as we walked in at that time, we were seated within a few minutes. Our server was very friendly and took care of us from start to finish. We ordered the Peroni Italian Beer, as well as a glass of Prosecco; both very refreshing. For dinner, we ordered the spaghetti Parm along with spaghetti Parm and meatballs. FYI, meat sauce is the default sauce for dishes. We had to wait about 30 minutes for them to cook the dishes up, which was a bit long. However, the meals were delicious, especially the chicken Parm that had a nice crispy breading. The spaghetti Parma were just perfect with all of the gooey cheese on top. The side of sauce was appreciated as I like putting it on the spaghetti. The meatballs weren't that flavorful to me, I expected more of an oregano or basil taste, instead of the bland one I got. They also weren't that warm. For dessert we ordered the White Chocolate Snowflake cake with raspberry filling. The icing was a bit hard, but still good. FYI, most of their dessert are from Dessert Deli, a local bakery in Buffalo. Overall, we had a really nice 2019 pre-Christmas dinner here and will certainly be back again soon. More...

Drop-off catering review. I was tasked with organizing the office holiday luncheon for my boss's teams. I wanted something different so I chose Chef's. 10.75 per person option came with a salad, bread and butter, two sides, two entrees and dessert. Also included were the plates, plasticware, napkins, extra cheese, gravy and extra sauce which unfortunately didn't come but our order of stuff shells was saucy enough, meat balls, roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and mini cannoli. An institution in Buffalo, authentic sauce, homey trattoria style tables, with fabulous fresh bread, expansive menu, excellent service! The chicken parmigiana lunch special with cup of soup or salad(chicken noodle my last visit yay!)-ok that was better than mine and I learned from my Italian Gram, so high and grudgingly offered praise there, ahem nothing to see, move it along! And then there was dessert! 3 choices of ice cream, for there or to go, the hazelnut not to be missed, all for under $13.00 if memory serves. That may have included my coffee. So thankful that multiple people recommended this place. Their spaghetti parm with meatballs is so tasty but their special sauce takes it to the next level! !! Delish! Love Chef's!! Haven't been here in a couple years and it's even better than I remember. Our waiter was Thomas and he was phenomenal. Very friendly and attentive. We got the fried ravioli as an app, and the Chicken Parm and the Spaghetti with a meatball and mushrooms. This place is SOOOOOOOO good!! We came on a weekday for a late lunch, so there was no wait. We've been visiting Buffalo and so many people have recommended this place so we had to give it a try. IT. DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT. The service was so friendly, food was delicious and price is right. Since it was our first time, we wanted to get some appetizers to try so we ordered the sampler platter. The fried ravioli and mozzarella sticks were so good. Next up, the entree. How could we go to Chef's and not get the spaghtetti parmigiana? It blew my mind. This is a heavy dish so you could share (if you wanted to). So flavorful! We were extremely impressed with our lunch with our little granddaughters. Our server was very pleasant, and very quick considering it was downtown lunch rush. The little ones loved their spaghetti and chicken tenders. The hit was the ice cream after their lunch....nice touch! Be sure and make reservations, they are busy all the time. Chef's is definitely a classic for Italian. The service was amazing, our server was triple-sat but handled it like a champ. Chefs you have to get The Parmigiana.
