It's Black Restaurant Week in Florida and what better way to check out a local neighborhood spot. I've been wanting to go for quite some time since The Hungry Black Man featured this restaurant a while back. Well, I called the restaurant to see if there was availability for a party of ONE. I love to date myself, it's a beautiful thing. Ladies...try it! You will not be disappointed 💜 We're off topic. Back to the review. I arrive in the parking lot and the energy hits me. Great vibrations!!! I enter the establishment and I am in awe of the atmosphere. Beautiful art displayed on the walls, perfect lighting, music playing in the background. I am having flashbacks as I type this❗ I am greeted by a tall gentleman behind the bar area. He provides me with a menu and I am looking for the ravioli oxtails. I am disappointed because they are not there🙄. However, he starts to explain why and now I understand. We had a mini wine tasting to get the perfect glass to go with my dinner selection. My food comes out and it was heaven on a plate!!! If you're looking for pounds of grease, pasta, rice...This is not your spot. This is CULINARY EATS!!!! The entire time I was being entertained by Mike, one of the owners and husband of the Chef. I was there for a few hours, even after closing. Chef Judith was on Food Network Guy’s Grocery Games and she won! The oxtail ravioli is the best!! The waygu beef melts in your mouth! !! They have a happy hour menu and a seasonal menu. First time I went there was just stopping in to make sure they were open. I was sooo not dressed, doing chores around the house but Judith and Mike couldn’t have made me feel more comfortable and not worry about that. This place is a real find for me and my wife Rose. Even before we ate, we were taken in by the friendly atmosphere. We went for desert. All I can say is we absolutely adore Swirl. The food is beyond the best of the best and we would eat here every weekend if our budget allowed us to go out that much! This is where you come to eat a gourmet meal that is prepared with thought, talent and a love of cooking. This is where you come to drink wine that has been hand selected for you with thought, talent and a love of wine. And this is where you come to experience dinner, not just eat it.
