After a DIY project went awry, I turned to yelp for a handyperson. Â I received multiple responses to my project and after reading the yelp feedback I went with Andrew. The stars aligned and he happens to be in my area the same afternoon wrapping up a project. Â We were able to coordinate the project, time, estimate, materials, etc with a few texts. Â Andrew fixed the holes I made in the wall and installed an oversized curtain rod. My failed attempt involved swearing and a bloody finger. My brother in law and I just bought a rental property in the Mission Hills area and needed some work done. We called around to a few companies but everyone either didn't answer or we found out wasn't insured or licensed. Finally we were recommend to Charlie Maddison by a friend so we gave him a call. (There is no Charlie by the way, it's the owners daughter?) Andrew was able to schedule us in the same week and did great work for us. He helped with touch up paints, hanging 3 tvs, appliance work in the kitchen, and finally some stucco and exterior painting. Everything came out beautiful and we were really happy with his communication and cleanliness - I've never seen a contractor or handyman sweep and vacuum daily! Requested a quote via Yelp and was contacted by Andrew within an hour regarding the scope and timeline of our renovation. After discussing work to be done he requested an email with a punch list and any visuals to give a better idea prior to our meeting for an estimate . An email with our desires was sent within two hours to the address provided along with two follow-up texts to confirm receipt. We received no response to either, no response to the email, and no further communication. if the job wasn't a good fit or could not be scheduled as needed, just say that. My husband had surgery and admittedly so, I am not very good fixing toilets, repairing bed frames, even moving furniture around! Â Charlie Maddison answered, actually answered my call. I am a single older woman new to San Diego and needed some help getting things in my new condo set up, and then to keep as a contact for future needs. Andrew was very responsive, knowledgeable, respectful, and considerate. He asked me to send pictures and he promptly sent a preliminary quote. Once at my home, he thoroughly explained what he was doing and why, and offered choices as to how I would like to do things. He did a great job installing wiring, connecting power, and hanging my television, hanging an extremely heavy vintage mirror, and replacing curtain rods. Andrew was very responsive and easy to reach! We did an initial consult via phone with pictures I sent via Yelp. He was very thoughtful and knowledgeable about electrical rewiring and dry wall patching. He was super flexible with scheduling and even reached out to us to schedule our project sooner after he had a cancellation. We hired Andrew for a rehang of our new front door, as well as the painting of our current garage door. He did an amazing job on both! He was extremely communicative and available right away, not to mention what I find the most important, RELIABLE! We could not be happier with his work and attitude! First purchase, I know nothing about anything when it comes to fixing or patching. In search of a reliable, honest handyman for long term in case anything comes up. Mr. Andrew was able to quote me through photos. He explained everything clearly so nothing unexpected came up. Wow! Where do I start..... Charlie Maddison Home Improvement is easily the best in the business. We took a risk and decided to try a new business because all of the other business who offer the same service quoted us almost double the price. Andrew was very responsive and he answered all 100 questions that we had for him. His customer service skills is something you would see out of a fortune 500 company.We own a moving company and our movers scratched the hardwood floor of one of our customers. Andrew saved the day and offered us an affordable price so we were still able to profit from the job while making sure the customer was satisfied. The entire process was practically stress-free and he didn't even rush to collect payment which I highly appreciate. After a wild weekend, my idiot friends ended up putting several holes in my drywall and broke some furniture I had previously put together. Yikes! I Â called around and couldn't find someone with reasonable prices that fit my schedule until I called Charlie Maddison. I wasn't available for a in-person estimate so Andrew the owner asked if I would be okay with a FaceTime estimate... Yes please!! Â Andrew gave us a great price and was able to come out the next day to do all the work. Our drywall looks brand new and he was able to repair the broken furniture, thank goodness! I contacted Andrew to get a quote on two door replacements for me. He was very helpful and was able to work around my schedule! He was on time and did great work! I was referred to Charlie Maddison from a friend to change out a exterior bathroom door at my cafe. It was sadly broken into and I had a temporary gate on it. I explained what I wanted to do and we got all items ordered to my liking. Everything worked out perfectly and I'm so relieved I have my door working properly and clean now.
