I have been receiving counseling and hypnotherapy from Lance Garland since June. My quality of life has improved greatly. They take Blue Cross Blue Shield, which is a plus . I'm seen weekly and have learned coping strategies to deal with stress, trauma and every day issues. I have tried many therapists before and felt judged and no improvement. I have seen several therapists in my life. Lance was referred to me by a sweet friend. I am SO glad she did! He really is an amazing therapist, easy to talk to, and has great unique techniques that can help clear negative experiences. He is super smart and always has great advice. Just from a few sessions my sleep has already improved. Lance Garland is an excellent therapist/counselor. Twelve years ago I went to him for anxiety, when he was a hypnotherapist. It was so effective and peaceful, that I've come back for treatment of depression and grief counseling. It's been a year since losing my mom & sister within 15 days of each other, followed by my father-in-law 30 days later, but I'm stuck. Lance is a great listener; he's also helping me with guided meditation, dream interpretation, and de-programming. Highly recommend! The reason for 4 stars is that I have to pay full amount until they submit insurance claim and insurance tells them what to charge me. It's been three weeks, I have a popular insurance, they know my co-pay, but will still charge me full price until the insurance verifies my co-pay. Very frustrated with that. More...

Dr. Lance Garland at Charleston Holistic Center is the absolute BEST counselor i have ever gone to, and i have been to quite a few around the Charleston area. he always had great suggestions and treatment methods that are different and more effective compared to many other counselors. he is also personable and easy to talk to. he is incredibly smart and knows a lot more than just the basics, which is really hard to find in a counselor. i highly recommend him!!EDIT: I don't think counselor would be the correct adjective to describe his qualifications but the message should be clear regardless More...

Imagine being so anxious going to work that it feels as though you are about to stand in front of a large crowd with no script to read from. I suffered like this for 19 years after having a severe panic attack on the job. I have tried almost every medicine available and had some crazy side affects from low sex drive to restless leg syndrome. I have always been proactive and sought help from therapist.One day I was Googling alternative remedies and came across Charleston Holistic Center and read the reviews on Lance Garland. I thought what do I have to lose. I’ve tried everything else, and this is when my life completely changed. Through hypnosis I realized my anxiety on the job stemmed from some traumatic events that occurred several years from my first panic attack. I guess subconsciously I felt the way I did from that event and didn’t realize it when I started having several panic attacks a day, mostly at work. What do you love most about your job?
I love watching people create their best lives. I love watching them change their habits, so that they feel and look so much healthier and better. I love watching them find the career that sparks their passion. I love when people tell me that they feel like a changed person after a session. I love watching people blossom and become their best selves.
What inspired you to start your own business?
There is no company that does what I do, except for mine. I had to have my own company to be able to offer the services that I do in the way that I offer them.

Yes, services can all be done online. I use a secure platform called SimplePractice (it's free for clients) to facilitate tele-sessions.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We clean surfaces, request that anyone feeling at all "off" switch to a tele-session, and make sure that all practitioners in the building are healthy for any in-person services.
Life Coaching
Together we clarify your dreams, then we set about making them a reality. This includes your career, your relationships (romantic, personal, and family), your health, your longevity, your mental resilience, and yes, your spirituality. Everything has to be working together -- integrated -- to allow for the creation of your best life.
Reiki -- Standard
A healing session where: your chakras are re-aligned, unblocked, and re-balanced, your energy field is cleared, cleaned, and refreshed, and the flow of your energy is re-established including receiving from the Universe and grounding to the Earth.
Reiki -- Shamanic
A healing session where any of the following may occur (depending on what you need): standard Reiki clearing and cleaning, Power Animal Retrieval, energetic attachment removal, energetic intrusion removal, healing journey.
These sessions are highly effective for those wanting a deeper level of healing or those needing attachment or intrusion removals.
Past Life Retrieval
This is a Shamanic process. Upon identifying a pattern in your current life that does not seem to come from any source in this life, I will journey to a past life to determine what is creating the pattern and work to "fix" the issue in the past that is causing problems now.
This process can heal scars that have "karmic" energy associated with them.
Soul Retrieval
This is a Shamanic process. When we have had trauma, a small part of ourselves dissociates to protect us. When we do not feel "safe" soon enough afterward, that piece of self may remain detached. In shamanic terms, we've had soul-loss. This keeps our energy drained, and ourselves unfocused or feeling like there's a hole or something's missing. A Soul Retrieval returns the missing part(s), bringing back your energy, focus, and sense of wholeness.
