I had a very positive experience with Chariots for Hire. I needed a 20 passenger bus to bring us from DC to Annapolis for the AF vs Navy football game. I have used Chariots for Hire for vineyard days a few times now and they are faithfully amazing every time! We have had Charles and Robert and both drivers were warm, welcoming and very helpful. They got us to vineyards on time but most of all they had personality and our large groups have enjoyed interacting with both. Finding reliable and affordable transportation was the biggest headache of our wedding planning. Chariots for Hire checked off both boxes. They were easy to communicate with and build a plan, showed up on time, ran the routes as expected, and we had no complaints from our guests that used the shuttle. Overall really good trip.Pros:1.) Bus came early,2.) Bus was clean,3.) Bus driver was very professional and knew the routes we were going. Bad:1.) bus driver took the longest possible route so my time tables were way off.2.) Bill you for over time even though they took long routes and bus driver could not find us at our last stop.The only reason I gave them 4 stars after the negative issues was the manager knocked off the additional overtime price. I used Chariots for Hire on Sat Oct 13th for an 8 hour wine tour.  Getting a quote was simple and straightforward, their appointment system was super simple to reserve the vehicle, and once I had more details I was able to provide an exact schedule via email.  On the day of, I got a phone call from our driver who let me know he was on the way, which was a great touch.  Our driver Adel was so wonderful - sweet, funny, kind, and careful behind the wheel.  We ran a little over and I was aware there would be a small surcharge, it was seamlessly charged to my card on file.  I will absolutely use them again!  Thanks Adel for a great day! On Saturday, 22 September 2018, my bride-to-be friend and ten other girlfriends, myself included, reserved the 12-person Mercury from Chariots for Hire. The party bus fit all of us - a little snug, but comfortably. It did not matter much since after a while we were all up and dancing to our music playing through the Bluetooth Soundsystem with the party lights flashing. Our driver, Ron, arrived in time to get us to our first wine tasting in Northern Virginia (from DC) even though he had been double booked by the office that day. He contacted us early, arrived well-dressed, helped each of us in and out of the vehicle at each stop, and was totally professional the entire time. We can't say enough how pleased we were to work with Chariots for Hire. They were incredibly professional and flexible. We had our ceremony and reception at two different military installations here in NOVA (Fort Myer and Fort Belvoir). Chariots for Hire have drivers who can be cleared to go onto the bases. They gave us all of the required information for base clearance early and the day of was a breeze. Chariots for Hire was great! We had a little trouble with quick responsiveness when we first started working with them, but we were still able to get 5 buses scheduled 7-8 months in advance. They worked wonderfully with us and our back and forth about timeline and number of buses that we needed to schedule. For the day of the buses showed up on time and did exactly what we needed them to do in the right amount of time. We have a few complaints about a little quick braking causing some motion sickness, but driving in DC and Georgetown is no easy task. I have used Chariots for hire for a few events now and I have always had great experiences. They have always arrived on time, had great drivers, and been very accommodating. When you are transporting large groups of people things can happen(traffic, breakdowns, miscommunications). The people with bad reviews on here need to understand that everything cannot always go as smoothly as you want it to. We had such a fabulous experience with this company. It started after I submitted an online reservation inquiry and I received a call shortly after that. The woman that handled my reservation was so friendly and clearly explained all of my options. I felt immediately that we were in good hands. I then received all the paperwork with full confirmation information and details. One day before the show we received yet another personal call to confirm everything and to see if there were any changes or if I had questions. The day of the show we received and email with our drivers name and cell phone number so we could contact him directly. Our driver Adel arrived 30 minutes early (to make sure he wasn't late) and called and said no rush, but he wanted to let us know that he was here. He was very professional and friendly. He offered to take a picture of us before we left. The bus was wonderful- comfortable and clean and stocked with ice and water bottles. It also had a bathroom which was a plus! Overall a great experience - only negative was that we ran over time so we got charged for another half hour...but that was explained to us beforehand so no surprise. Chariots for Hire exceeded my expectations! I was pretty nervous about transportation for our guests because there was a lot going on in Baltimore on the day/evening of our wedding. The staff at Chariots for Hire put my worries to rest, and worked with me to put together a schedule that would allow time to get all of our guests to our venue from two different hotels. They allowed me to alter the schedule the week before the wedding, and were always super prompt at e-mailing me the updates after our calls. Our driver Joan was the sweetest! We had to pay a small extra fee to use Chariots for Hire in the Baltimore area, but it was well worth it! We booked Chariots for Hire for all our transportation needs for my daughter’s wedding on Nov 12, 2016. Our needs included a 20 passenger shuttle for the bridal party and 2- 57 passenger coach buses to transport all our guests to the reception and back. I was a little hesitant with so many moving parts, but Chariots for Hire was amazing!! All vehicles arrived on time, drivers were all very professional and courteous, and the vehicles were all in pristine condition. While working on a quote and booking, I spoke with Chris and he was incredibly helpful in helping me coordinate my needs. I also applaud Chariots for Hire for their email notifications. I was emailed the names and cell phone numbers of all our drivers and was also emailed when the vehicles arrived. This was very helpful since I was not at the location when the coach buses arrived for pickup, but I knew everything was moving according to planned. Book early to make sure they have vehicles that will accommodate your event. Fortunately, our wedding was on a Sunday. Chariots for Hire gave us the lowest quote for transportation services in the Northern Virginia area. They provided excellent communication leading up to the event and the day of. I was able to speak with a human being when we needed to shift a pick-up time. The drivers were very professional, the vehicles were very clean (55 passenger bus, 32 passenger bus and a stretch limousine). For our annual Redskins-Eagles tailgate spectacular at FedEx, we decided to go with Chariots for Hire this year. They did not disappoint. Our group was about 55 strong so we went with a charter bus so we could fit our entire group plus all of our essentials. We all fit on the bus without any problems and were super comfortable. There was a ton of space above us to put smaller items like jackets, footballs, and purses. As for the other things we brought, several coolers, cases of beer, and tables, it all fit neatly in the side storage area of the bus with no problem at all.Our driver arrived probably 10 or 15 minutes before he was scheduled to, so we were able to start loading everything earlier which was a huge help. Coming from Arlington for a 1 PM game at FedEx, that was a nice bonus. Our driver killed it all day. He got us there and back safely and in a timely manner, and was just a nice dude in general. I can't recommend Chariots for Hire enough for big group outings or when you're in need of transportation larger than what a couple of uber's would hold. We used Chariots for Hire for a beach trip to Rehoboth. From the time of booking all the way through the trip, I was very pleased with the service provided. The phone rep who booked us, Chris, was very gracious and flexible with a couple of last minute date changes we had. Our driver, Aaron, arrived early for the pickup and called as soon as he was on-site to let me know he had arrived. He drove us to Rehoboth and back safely and was flexible with our pick up time from the beach, giving us time to enjoy a bit more sun and get all of our group together. We used Chariots for Hire to take a group of six of us out to Barrel Oak Winery in Delaplane, VA, and they made the excursion extra special. Robin, our driver, picked us up in a lovely, modern stretch limo and we began partying from the moment we pulled away from the curb.  The limo was supplied with ice and bottled water.  We brought wine and snacks.  We left the driving to Robin.  She waited for us while we went in for our wine tasting and dinner and was right there to pick us up at the front door to shepherd us home two hours later.  Chariots is very good at this wine tour thing...I highly recommend this service.  Their prices are competitive, and I think they have more options in their fleet.  While we are "an older group" the stretch limo made us feel a little like we were all going to prom...really fun! We hired one of your coaches to travel from Knoxville, TN to Nashville, TN. " Gentleman" Tom, our driver was more than excellent. He kept within the speed limit, he did not throw the passengers changing lanes and he was extremely accommodating of helping the elderly passengers on and off the coach. Chariots for Hire provided clean vehicles, the drivers were professional and they arrived on time to our wedding events. The negative ranking for responsiveness is because booking was incredibly difficult! We worked with at least 6 different booking agents because they were not very responsive. When we finally got our transportation booked things ran smoothly, but I hope the booking process improve for future clients. I also was told that one of our buses tried to not allow a guest to bring a large wedding package onboard the bus. We had a few issues with this vendor but overall I would recommend Chariots for Hire because they have nice buses and reasonable prices. More...

We took an evening tour of the Washington DC  landmarks. It was easy to schedule and pay thru the Tour Desk at our hotel. The tour was 4 hours long, but seemed like 2 ! It was thorough, entertaining, we were able to get up close to everything our guide, David Elliot was friendly, knowledgeable. The driver, Zoila, was excellent, the bus was clean and warm. My husband and I used Chariots for Hire to transport my hotel guests to/from the hotel and our venue. We got a 30 passenger van and it worked out well!
They showed up to the hotel at the time we wanted them to. At the end of the night, I wanted the van to take my guests back eearly if they wanted, but the van was no where in site. I had to call him to pick up the guests, but he was extremely close by and it worked out fine. In the end, Chariots for Hire came through and as far as I know the shuttles were on time and ran smoothly. There was some miscommunication a few weeks before the wedding that they weren't going to be able to honor the pricing I was quoted (a deposit had already been placed and I had a written/dated quote). My friends and I had an excellent experience with Chariots for Hire. We rented a 20-person shuttle bus for a VA winery tour. The booking and scheduling were very easy and straightforward. I even changed our itinerary several times and CFH was happy to accomodate us. Our driver, Jimmy, was hysterical and such a great time to be around. He arrived early, and was sure to give us a head's up to what time we needed to leave the last winery to make it home on time to not get charged a late fee. We booked a Wine Trip for 16 in NOVA with Chariots for Hire and had an excellent experience from start to finish.  The bus was new, clean and came stocked with bottled water on ice which was a lifesaver.  Our driver knew exactly where each winery was located, was very accommodating and kept us on schedule.  We shopped around and found the price to be competitive and they offered better options in term of vehicles.  We will be doing this again very soon! Chariots for hire did an amazing job for our July 11th wedding. We had a 57 passenger motor coach to shuttle our guest to and from the hotel to the venue. We had so many compliments on how pleasant the driver was. They showed up on time and made our guest comfortable on a very hot day getting to the venue. I arranged for their 14 passenger hummer to surprise my husband and his groomsmen. The guys were very impressed with their driver, they got over to the venue in time and with no issues.
