Love the food. Great steak, beats most really high priced steak house. The service is superior also. Every time I come they don't disappoint so I keep coming back.

Hubby loves him some Cattlemen's...I'm along for the ride. As a vegetarian it's like being in a country where you don't speak the language. The wall mounted dead animals are a nice touch (yuck!)Anyway... It's right off the freeway (aren't they all?!) And Hubby spotted it on our way to the mountains. None close to where we live in Fremont...So on our way home we were stopping. Super crowded even though they had only been open 30 minutes. Our wait was really quick 5 minutes or so. Seated and greeted right away offered water bread and menu's, The service was incredible! I've lived in Dixon my whole life. My father built the original booth benches and the old entrance swinging saloon doors(which are gone now) My husband John and I are once a month regulars here. GREAT FOOD!!! and excellent service.. I recently talked up Cattlemens to my new boss but I'm afraid after our visit, most of them won't be back. We had a group of 8 and it took a half hour to get our drinks, they forgot one so she waiting another 15 minutes for hers. Our order was not what was ordered either. 2 ppl who asked for medium rare got very well. They weren't happy, but being polite didn't return it. Literally, every single thing our table ordered was amazing. The chipotle sauce was tangy and paired really well with the perfectly cooked bacon wrapped shrimp. The butter was a salty compliment to the sourdough bread. The blue cheese dressing was smooth and thick on top of the house salad. My rustler ribeye was cooked perfect and the mashed potatoes were the ideal side dish. The skillet chocolate chip cookie was rich and sweet and the vanilla ice cream was creamy. Kayla, (Asst.) Manager was informed that we were evacuees from Windsor (Kincade fire) and our waitress, Ashley, explained the manager comped our drinks and we were so surprised!  Kayla came to our table and asked how everything was and if we needed anything else as we thanked her for being so generous...she was genuinely sad for what we were going through as we had slept in our car for 2 nights before our daughter-in-law found the hotel room in Dixon that we are currently staying at for a few nights.  We are so grateful ... thank you, Cattlemans, Kayla, and Ashley for adding a little light to some of our darkest days!  Very much appreciated!  Tim and Lorraine Souza More...

Best place around this area to get a nice and juicy T-bone steak with a twice baked potato.  The steak doesn't need any sauce at all and its cooked to perfection mmmm, just talking about it makes me want to go back for dinner sometime.  I wish they were open earlier for lunch though like 12:30pm on and just have some items available.  I hear the Motherlode Burger is amazing and happy hour items are good too. Let me just start off by saying, I love the decorations, I love the vibe, and I love the enthusiasm of the workers here! My father and I decided to come by during my birthday. Walked in during the early afternoon, and my waiter was very nice. We were served quickly and enjoyed his professionalism and engaging personality.We ordered the dinner for 2, which included an appetizer, two entrees, and 1 dessert at a very fair price. My baby back ribs were delicious! Although it was a half rack, the portions are still very big. The entrees come with a choice of side and I decided on fries. When our dessert came, my father requested a small candle to be added to the apple pie. The waiter came out with his group and sang a very unique "cowgirl" birthday song that I thoroughly enjoyed! I went here last night and was excited to go because I had not been here in years. I remembered that the food was delicious. They had told us 45 minute wait when we arrived but the wait was only about 20 minutes. The menu offered so many options that made it difficult to choose - they have steaks, prime rib, salmon, bbq ribs and many more options. They offer a special for two people with an appetizer, two 9 oz. prime ribs and dessert all for a good price. We did not get the special but our meals came with salad and a side which was definitely enough food. The food was delicious and I would definitely return. We wanted to eat something good for dinner tonight. So we decided on Cattlemens. We sat at our usually bar area self seating without waiting to be seated. The place wasn't too packed.We ordered the usuals. I got the Shrimp Scampi and Steak. Cooked to perfection. The shrimps were soft, buttery and garlicky. The steak was how I liked it, medium rare. We asked for some Au Ju with our steaks. The salad was good. All the veggies were fresh and crisp! The sour dough bread was warm and soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I always passed by this place and was always curious. I finally stopped by and it was pretty good. Our server Brandon had great service. Kept checking on us, refilling our waters, and the bread. The bread is delicious and they always served it hot to us. Food, I would give about 7.5. One of the reasons why i'm giving it 4 stars is because there was a huge animal head right above us. We came here for some good steaks. Our go to spot for a good dinner on a Friday evening. It's usually super busy at this time. We usually like to sit at the bar area and wait time isn't so bad. We walked in and there were a couple of seats at the bar.We ordered the usual. The husband ordered his Prime Rib and I ordered the Steak and Shrimp Scampi. The bartender puts in our order. We started with their salad and sour dough bread. One of the main reasons we love about this place. Everything in the salad, the lettuce, cherry tomatoes, red onion, cucumbers and croutons are so fresh and crisp! The best part of the salad is their homemade ranch! The hubby using gets extra ranch, because it's that good! The bread comes out warm and has a little crunch on the outside and so soft and warm in the inside that when you spread the butter, it just melts so easily. It's just so good. 99% of the time our steaks are cooked to perfection and how we wanted it to be. Always a great experience here. The service, the food and the vibe just perfect. Last Saturday was my birthday and we decided on a road trip to Sacramento area for the weekend.  Since we would be staying in Dixon I saw that there was a Cattlemens in town and knew I wanted to go there for my birthday dinner.  We miss the Reno Cattlemens  that closed years ago and hoped this would be a great experience.  I took the advise of fellow people on Yelp and made a reservation and we were glad we did!  The place was packed at 5:20 when we arrived for a 5:30  reservation.  The host gave me a pager and said " we will try to get you in on time for you reservation".  I thought "on no" as there were at least 50 people waiting to get in.We walked outside to look at the posted menu and the pager went off immediately.  We were seated and waited on immediately.  Our ordered drinks were served quickly (very large mugs of fresh iced tea) and our attentive waitress took our orders.  I took pause when ordering my filet as I have had issues with how to order it.  I love a medium steak with just pink in the middle.  Most of the time it comes to my plated overlooked, so I have been ordering medium rare, however this being a steakhouse known for its accuracy I ordered it medium.Our salads were delivered and the fixings were very fresh and satisfying.My steak and baked potato were served quickly and the steak was perfectly cooked and soooo tender and flavorful.   My husbands New York was perfect also.We splurged and shared a bowl of sorbet for desert.  Wow.  Everything was great and made for a memorable birthday dinner.My only concern was for the 50 people waiting outside.  There were numerous large tables near us during our meal that were never filled.  Not enough servers?  And many people were still waiting to come in when we left. After 10 years of living in the Fairfield, Vacaville, Dixon area I finally went to Cattlemens. Something everybody I know has at least done a few times if not more, I was really craving a steak and Texas roadhouse in Fairfield was just gonna be too much of a nightmare. But coming here and having Xavier as my server really did make a huge impact. Sometimes servers get so deep in the weeds at their tables that they forget that sometimes taking those few minutes to really talk to the tables that you have can make the biggest difference especially in your tip. Having worked in restaurants since I was a teenager snd getting the same kind of service given back to me that I try so hard to give my tables, was extraordinarily refreshing. I had the salad with tri-tip it was very good. But I was very happy with the experience not only was it accessible but everyone catered to my needs. There was no more room at the bar for happy hour because the accessible table was taken they accommodated me in their main dining room and checked to see if I needed anything else before happy hour ended. Had Cattlemens for dinner on a Friday evening. They were busy and a lot of people were waiting to be seated. The hostess told me it would be 20-25 minutes for a table, or I could seat myself in the bar  with the same menu. So I opted for the bar area as I was dining alone and didn't want to sit there and wait. I sat at the bar and after a few minutes the bartender asked me what I would like to drink and if I wanted to see a menu. I ordered an iced tea and said yes to the menu. The tea was good, nice and fresh. I ordered an appetizer of potato skins and for dinner the smallest sized sirloin, medium-rare.  Before long a huge bowl of salad was placed before me and also a basket of the absolute best sourdough bread I can ever remember eating. Crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Served with real butter. I could have been fully satisfied with just the bread. (I wonder if Selma has the same amazing bread, or if it was a Bay Area thing?!). Then before long, I got my potato skins...very tasty. I only ate one to save room for my steak. Soon along came my dinner plate. A big baked potato (naked) so I asked for some butter. There was a side of sour cream and chives on the plate, just no butter. My steak was between a medium rare and medium, but was very tender and flavorful. The girl who brought out my food also left a small bucket of bbq beans with my plate. I didn't even give them a try, there was so much food. The bartender didn't notice my empty iced tea glass at all, I had to ask her for a refill when she was tending to the guy next to me.  I got to-go containers for the bread and for the skins. They made a perfect lunch as I was driving home the next day. I will definitely dine there again when working in Santa Rosa. Last night my husband, our 3 children and I tried Cattlemens in Dixon. It was our first time and we were very impressed! The staff is so warm and inviting as soon as you walk through the door offering old-fashioned True Western Hospitality!We shared the Pete's Special 10 oz. succulent sirloin and a twice baked potato. We have been to many steak houses over the years and this for us was hands-down the best we ever had! All entries come with all-you-can-eat salad, warm sourdough bread and ranch style beans. The kids of course ordered off the kiddy menu but were sure to save room for dessert! We tried the Deep Fried Apple Pie served piping hot with vanilla ice cream. We left with full bellies, big smiles and new cowboy hat! I whispered to the waitress it was my husband's belated birthday, our belated wedding anniversary and youngest soon to be birthday! Anisha was our server. She was absolutely fantastic and made sure to regularly check on our table and get us everything we needed without hovering. You can tell that she has serving down to a science, as she is amazing at it. You will have a pleasant dining experience if you receive her as a server. The manager stopped by our table early in the meal just to check in on how our food was. That was so nice. I had an issue with something I ordered and she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable! I was feeling embarrassed for returning my item but she made me feel better immediately and I got back to having a good time with my family. Our food was absolutely fantastic. The tumbleweed onions were fantastic, as was the warm & fresh baked sourdough bread, the endless salad (so fresh and crisp) the rustler ribeye was to die for as was the twice baked potato. My grandma had the rack of lamb and she absolutely devoured it. She said it was delicious. My server packed up my Pete's special for me and so I'm looking forward to eating that tomorrow as it smelled amazing. On a Thursday night we had to wait a short time. We ordered beverages in the bar. Fast, friendly service. Excellent beverages. At the table, an excellent waitress that was attentive, informative and prompt. The food was excellent. No complaints from any of our party of five.My main complaint is the noise level. We sat in the main dining room to the left of the front door. We could only speak to the person next to us by speaking directly into their ear. To speak to someone across the table required shouting. Walking into this California steakhouse 50 year old local chain feels like walking into thousands and thousands of places like this in Texas.  It had been years since I ate at one of these.  After noticing that they recently constructed parking canopies which double as solar panels, this seemed like a great place to park in the shade today since it was about 105F.  And a steak is always nice on Friday.  One thing this place does right is steaks.  They use aged beef and the steaks are nailed to perfection with no room for improvement.   The clam chowder was good but I am sure it's from a can.  The shrimp is from India and while there is nothing wrong with that, I only order and eat Texas Gulf or Sea of Cortez Shrimp anymore.   Kinds of like when you ruin your own palate for Maine Lobster, there's no turning back.   All the foods were seasoned uniquely and it brought back memories of when our family used to eat at these decades ago.  It's still a damn good steak. This place has a large bar in inside which is away from the family seating areas,  our table had a carriage above it and the decor in here is fun.  Service was great, our server fielded all of my foodie questions like the source of the shrimp, if the lemonade has HFCS, ya know, just common foodie want to knows.    She was great.  AAA+++Cool Cali steak chain where you will not go wrong with the steaks. I came here tonight to celebrate two birthdays, and I had such an amazing experience. I got the rustler ribeye, and it was cooked perfectly. My girlfriend had the prime rib. We have been coming to this location for 7+ years now... service has always been great and the food is very consistent. Tonight we had the best service we had ever had in that 7 year period, no joke! Xavier was our waiter tonight, he went above and beyond for us. He was able to make a simple request happen with no hesitation, he checked on us with perfect timing then continued impressing us with recommendations to a local coffee place and a suggested drink for the kids... which by the way was a hit (kids were so happy, so mom and dad were happy) We would recommend Xavier's tables if he is working! Been here a few times but have to say sunday was definitely one of my best experiences. Due to it being busy we gave it a shot and sat at the bar. For it being busy the bartender sure knew how to keep it together while she was working alone. So the last time me and my wife went to cattlemen's we  wear a little disappointed we went To give it another try I had the beef ribs my wife had the filet petite I have to say it was very good this time I ordered the beef ribs with the barbecue sauce on the side  last time we were there they came out dripping in barbecue sauce hiding the dried out ribs. They came out very tender and I was able to put how much barbecue sauce I like on a rib I don't like too much barbecue sauce cause it masks the flavor  Of one of the best tasting meats Sarah our waitress was on spot very nice came back checked on us asked us if we needed anything several times which I call very good service. This is a great steakhouse.  The steaks are amazing, as are all the other parts of the feast they put before you.  Family style salad, endless fresh bread and crocks full of beans until you just can't take it any more.   The dining room is huge, so even if it looks like there is a crowd you will not wait long.  The wait staff always is polite and attentive and I never have left this place feeling like I was rushed or that I had been treated like "just another customer."  This has been one of our family's "go-to" places for a nice night out for several years.  We keep going back because this place demonstrates western hospitality, good ambience, and excellent food even if they charged Chicago steakhouse prices, yet their prices are reasonable.  If your kids are under 12 get the Cattlemen's shirts and the kids eat free if they wear the shirt.  It will extend your budget for a nice glass of wine - or let you pay for an Uber so you can enjoy a few cocktails.  Great place.  If you want a good steak, some fun ambiance and a reasonable value you should absolutely go here! When we have a hankerin' for BEEF, and lots of it, this is our place!  Side dishes are really great. My husband loves the twice baked potato. It's huge. We get the ribeye, which comes with deep fried onions on top. Always bring half home! The meal comes with salad, bread and beans. My only complaint is the loud obnoxious way they celebrate birthdays! Haven't been to Cattlemens for a long time. Our favorite restaurant in town, Pamposh, closed so we decided to give it a shot. Service was prompt, and the food was very good. We had lobster, filet mignon, a ribeye, and my daughter had a caesar salad with chicken. Our server, Andrea, noticed that my daughter only took only 2 bites of her salad, so she informed the manager, Madison. Madison came over and mentioned that Andrea noticed that my daughter didn't care for the salad. She inquired as to the reason. My daughter said that the lettuce did not taste quite right and had the taste and consistency of kale. Much to our surprise the manager offered to take the salad off of our bill without us even asking for it. That is really customer focused quality. We were very impressed and will be back again soon! It's my first time dining at this chain restaurant. I know it's a steakhouse, but I did not order NY steak. Too much red meat is something I cannot easily digest. Thus, my lunch choice is grilled salmon with salad, bread and baked potato.The Cattlemens is not opened during the lunch hours. They actually open at 4:00 PM for dinner.Two employees greet and welcome us in front of the restaurant. Wow! They have table settings, fresh tossed green salad and French bread all ready for us. Stephen is the waiter in the area that I, along with several others, are seated. He is very pleasant and courteous. I order an Arnie Palmer to go along with my meal. My Arnie Palmer is refreshing. It has a nice balance of tea and lemonade. If the "Palmer" is good, then the food has to be delicious. I usually don't eat iceberg lettuce in a tossed green salad. However, the salad is loaded with grape tomatoes, thinly sliced cucumber, purple onion, and croutons. Nice presentation and quite a tasty salad with thousand island dressing or ranch dressing. My grilled salmon with dill sauce is on point. The baked potato is something that I can't have too much of - carbs overload and I know there would be a spike in my glucose. The lady sitting across from me says her NY steak is delicious, tender and moist. Our group is content with the food and service. No complaints and nobody is disappointed. I guess it does not take a lot to please a bunch of us senior citizens. Too bad there is no Cattlemens in Alameda, Oakland or any other Bay Area cities. It was my husband and I's 4year anniversary, he surprised me by bringing me here..i was also bugging him to take me to this place because i always see it from the freeway. So i was super happy that this is where my husband brought, amazing guy. The place  is super clean, super cool with the decor, and friendly staff(thanks Karla for the amazing service). Loved that she helped us decide. So we went for the dinner for 2, we had salad with caesar's dressing, for appetizer we had the artichoke dip, i picked steak and shrimp scampi (good choice for little me, it was a bit much but super yummy) my husband picked the 14oz steak and we both had baked potatoes, mine was the works everything on top lol..Then for dessert we had the cheesecake which we didnt have room for so we end up taking it home..
