Donnie Ferneau never fails to deliver. What a wonderful Sunday brunch Cathead's delivers. It starts with the friendly, welcoming staff. Then there is the fairly priced Fro-Mo or Mimosa (effectively $2.50) add-on to the buffet. And then the buffet. Oh my. Brisket, bacon, fried chicken, chicken tenders, grits, greens, pancakes, cooked to order eggs, peach cobbler, bread pudding, potatoes, salad, many different kinds of pies. Oh my. And that's just what I could fit on my plate! (JK!) All at a fair price. Great family spot too. Lots of kids. NFL on the TV. Did I mention the Bloody Mary's? Or the other great brunch cocktails? Donnie spoke with us - I recognized him but he had no clue who we were - and we got great insight into his vision for the Diner and the love for his family. Don't second guess....GO! More...

I truly loved the food and environment! Best fried chicken I have ever tasted. It was so crunchy on the outside yet juicy and delightful on the inside. I especially loved the potatoes with all that flavor. The restaurant gave me all the feels and opened my taste buds with joy! Truly one of a kind dining experience. All the fun of a buffet yet not open to everyone to touch. Just the perfect amount of southern home cooking with the flare of fancy done absolutely perfect with that family touch. More...

This was a fantastic stop on my way through Little Rock.  Highly recommend.  Casual cool atmosphere.  Perfectly smoked sausage with smoky bbq sauce.  This went perfectly with the best sautéed cabbage I've ever ate and delicious creamy mac-n-cheese.  Watch out for the jalapeño cornbread as it was spicyWish this was closer to home.  Definitely should not miss this. Cathead's Diner was a wonderful sunny day experience. Food was great, staff was amazing and the owner was even better. We sat on the patio with our dog and enjoyed the beautiful weather while dining on the Saturday brunch foods. House made sauces are an awesome thing when done right and this place does do it right. I live in NW Alabama where white BBQ sauce originated and Cathead's is even better than mine! If we ever happen through Little Rock again, we will definitely make it during their hours of operation and stop in. We all left full and happy. More...

I had been to Cathead's for breakfast once and it was fantastic.  Still, I was dying to try the brunch buffet and brought four friends along, none of whom had dined there previously.  From the excellent spicy Bloody Mary to kick things off to the crème brûlée doughnut, brunch was ludicrously awesome! Chef/owner Donnie Ferneau's brisket is scrumptious, as was everything else from the greens to the fried chicken, cheesy tater tots, cheese grits, bread pudding and literally everything else..  Donnie came by a couple of times to see how we liked it and was happy to talk about his process, both in terms of recipes and local sourcing. Superb brunch -- ten thumbs up!! More...
