They were fluffy, moist and delicious.Delivery of my breakfast was under 20 minutes and was hot and delicious I will definitely repeat! More...

I'm not even going to write a long review. This place has been on my "Breakfast go-to" list for a long time. Great food, try the skillets, excellent service, very good coffee. Rock solid, well run restaurant, you won't hear me say that too often! Come. Come get your breakfast on... and don't forget the pancakes! More...

Always a great place to eat.  Good food, good service, friendly staff.  Their omelettes and pancakes are really delicious, and their soups are always good and served hot.  Lots of goodies on the tables, jellies, butter, good cream and they leave a piping hot pot of coffee on the table.  Lastly, they just a got great new canopy that adds to the lovely decor outside the restaurant.  Inside you'll find charm in their decorations and charming fireplace! Always busy and for good reason. The owners are friendly, the service is good, the food is great, the prices fair. Reasonable parking lot, enough spaces to accommodate. The seating is plentiful so though it's always crowded I don't believe I've ever waited long to be seated. Food comes out quickly, tables are bussed quickly, but I'm never feeling rushed.fireplace is nice. Updating my review: Frankly, that was a knee jerk response saying, "the owners are friendly" because that is what I have come to expect here. However, I actually had recognized that something was off... not nearly as friendly. Now on my 1st visit after my last review I see that ownership has changed. Still good food and good quick service. Plentiful portions @ rightish prices. Just missing the previous owners gregarious and delightful friendliness. More...

Stopped in for breakfast with wife at about 10:30 AM on a Monday morning.  The parking lot had a lot of cars so they appeared to be moderately busy, always a good sign.  We ordered nothing exotic, omelettes, hashbrowns, pancakes and a side of Gyros meat. The omelettes were good, very fluffy and not overcooked.  However the rest of the meal was extremely poor, the hashbrowns looked like they had been sitting on the grill and were burnt to a crisp, also the oil (it wasn't butter) they were fried in had an unpalatable taste, the Gyros meat was overcooked with a tough baked outer crust, it was so dry it required water to swallow.  The coffee tasted like it was Folgers or Maxwell House, I don't know where a Restaurant finds such poor tasting coffee, even if you didn't want to buy the most expensive why not have a coffee lover (who has a taste for coffee) suggest a medium grade, medium roast blend that would satisfy the majority of customers. Our waitress should have seen how overcooked the meat and hashbrowns were and advised the Cook to redo the order!  The cook should be trained in not making food so far in advance of the order's that it is overcooked ... if the excuse was he needs to be fast, it shouldn't be at the expense of quality.  If I as a customer had been looking for fast service I would have gone through McDonald's.I left a 20% tip so they had no idea I was dissatisfied (as my wife was). These issues are easily corrected, just better quality control from serving staff, they should have the final word on what is plated and the owner should watch the meals coming out to see they look eatable. Had my hopes up based on previous reviews. Place looked pretty run down from the outside, but surprisingly cosy inside with a big open fireplace in the middle of the space. Service was fast. Sadly the only part of my meal I really enjoyed was the freshly squeezed juice. The rest was very mediocre. Story of my daughter's meal - Florentine Benedict - poached eggs were prepared well, Hallandale sauce had a very overwhelming, almost mayo like taste. Hash browns were pretty undercooked. My dish - Mediterranean omelet  - very fluffy, came with tomatoes, onions and feta... had potential, sadly rubbery feta did not make me happy. Had a choice of fresh fruit, which came as three little grapes, two quarter size pieces of honeydew ( inedible as they were the very end hard pieces) , one ( same size) piece of melon and one tiny triangle of pineapple, which according to my kid were not bad. The "fruit arrangement" came on a single , a bit wilted, romaine lettuce leaf. More...

Doesn't look like much on the inside, the Devore is very dated.  However they do a lot to make up for the ambiance.  The service was outstanding! ! Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable of the menu and very attentive.  I had the veggie skillet which seasoned so well and had the fluffy pancakes.  My husband has the skillet w the turtle pancakes and they were amazing!  They give you coffee carafe so you can drink as much as you want .. and yes they do have flavored creams.  Don't forget to check in on Yelp because you will receive a complimentary delicious cinnamon roll.  If you are looking for a quick delicious breakfast I would recommend it.  Request a table next to the fireplace. The name of this restaurant says it all.  It retains the warm, cozy décor (including fireplace) of its predecessor, Buona Sera, but the worn tabletops and nicked wood trim are showing their age.  The menu offers a mind-boggling array of breakfast, brunch and lunch items.  Would you believe 9 different kinds of French toast?  If you have a reasonable request for something that doesn't appear on the menu (e.g. a grilled chicken sandwich), just ask, and chances are they'll prepare it for you.  Portions are generous.  The servers are always friendly and caring, and a manager is always present to greet customers and keep things rolling smoothly.I usually order pancakes or an omelet, but on this visit I ordered the crispy chicken salad.  The fried chicken strips (prepared earlier) were dry, and the runny, bland ranch dressing was not as good as Hidden Valley's bottled product.  Others in our party were quite pleased, though, with their omelets and sandwiches, so next time I'll stick with my usual. This used to be our go to at Least once a month for 4 or 5 friends but I guess was recently sold? We would call on Sunday morning and reserve a table in front due to one of us being handicapped and I myself need a knee replacement so the less walking the better. While I did not make the call last time we went there, my friend was met with some resistance in trying to get a table ahead of our arrival. I was the last of us to arrive, and had no idea where my friends were seated. I walked through and found them around the other side of the building. I could tell by my friends face it would be his last time there. The food was still good as I am sure the staff is the same but due to the new management we had to find another place that could accommodate. A shame because we really liked it there, and my handicapped friend had been going there for decades. More...

I just experienced not only the best restaurantbreakfast I've had in quite some time but thebest all around meal. I chose to meet somefamily members there based on Yelp reviewsand the photos that diners submitted and I'mvery glad I did. Right from jump street we weregreeted by a friendly smiling hostess, then bythe owner, and seated immediately. At 9:00 amon a Saturday that's a rare experience in itself.Jumping right to the food, it appears you're gettinga menu with a massive choice of food but it reallyisn't that daunting. There's a sensible amount ofchoices and it's relatively easy to make a choice. As much as I didn't want to order another omeletteas a default breakfast item, that's exactly what I didand was glad that I picked the ham and Americancheese option. Not just because it was large butbecause it came with a good amount of cheese andchunks, instead of tiny diced pieces, of ham. I askedfor crispy hash browns and that's what I was served. The others in my party ordered plain French toastthat came as six triangles with a side of crispy bacon, traditional eggs benedict, and a skillet. There wasn'ta single complaint or "I wish they had..." among us.One thing I'll mention. I asked our server if, with mymeal, she could bring a small taste of their gyro meatas a sample. That small sample became a full sideorder priced at $3.95. I'm not complaining as it wasdelicious and I ate it at home later in the day. Theowner made sure I got a cup of their tzatziki sauce, which was nicely balanced.Compared to many restaurants in the area the priceswere fair, so that was another bonus. For the four meals, three cups of coffee, one soft drink and two small glassesof white milk, plus tax, my bill (yes, I was buying) cameto $63.00, and three of us had leftovers to take homewith us. Of course, there was the additional tip for ourpatient server. The decor was fine, the restaurant appears cleanand I simply liked the layout. All in all, this was a really goodexperience and if I lived closer than 50.9 miles away Rise NDine would be my regular breakfast haunt. Oh, thenwhat about a fifth star for my review? Is any restauranttruly perfect? Let's say the fifth star is in my mind. A shoutout to Gary from Mitch. Keep up the great work and showinginterest in your customers. More...

We were jetlagged after returning from a trip and went on a crash tour of early breakfast places in the Glenview area. We liked this place the best out of the places we managed to try before we re-acclimated to the Chicago timezone. We didn't know what to expect and the somewhat neutral demeanors of the staff at 6am didn't help. But once we were seated by the warmth of a crackling fire and spent some time admiring the decor, we relaxed. Scattered here and there were other early morning breakfast-goers - a white woman and her daughter, a pair of Korean men, and others making the place at home.I had been ordering salads recently, and kept it up at Rise N Dine with a Gyro Salad. It was pleasingly fresh and the gyros were done just right, and they weren't stingy with the meat, either. My wife ordered an omelette with hash on the side, and it was also quite good. My infant son ate both with gusto, though at that point he would have been quite happy eating the food if it were blended, too, not to mention other unsavory things he's found on the floor. Let's leave his review out of the picture for now.Overall, it was warm, bright, with good food, and open early. If by some chance we're awake early again, we'll be sure to stop by! More...

I have tried to give this place a chance but each time I have come in there is  a problem with the food. Today I got burnt hash browns and I mean black char a little on top and a lot when I flipped them over. I know the waitress saw this but she said nothing. My wheat toast was hard too. My Hawaiian omelette was good except for the rock hard burnt bacon that was in it!!  I just pushed aside the burnt pieces and ate some of it. Our waitress was not that friendly....When I asked her for new potatoes she did get some but didn't even apologize or say anything...just dropped them on the table like nothing and she said "are these okay?"  I mean really , I like crispy hash browns but not burnt and so obviously burnt too!  My daughter got the Mexican skillet and she said it was great. I was going to say something to the management but I figured why plus my daughter didn't want me to make a scene which I wouldn't have, I would have just pointed out nicely what was wrong with the food. Will not go back to Rise n Dine again. They should pay more attention to the quality of their food. There are so many other places greater. More...
