I love the menu here. The lasagna is great and I highly recommend the burrata sausage salad, so delicious! I wish I could go more often but I live in enfield.

We recently had a last minute, small family wedding and asked Castello if they could accommodate. Two weeks before the event they were able to get a menu together and they paid attention to every detail from food, to decor, to logistics, considering it was supposed to be outdoors on their patio. The day of our wedding was an absolute mess in terms of weather. Literal downpours all day. I was stressing to the max. My wedding dinner was scheduled for 6 pm on the uncovered patio. At 4 pm Stanley, the owner, texted me a picture of the patio. He and his staff had set up his own party tent, in the POURING RAIN, dried and decorated everything, and were ready for us at 6. Absolutely beautiful and incredible night for us. Everything went off without a hitch, and we are forever grateful to Stanley, Dave, Nick, and staff for their impeccable service, fantastic food, and the way they went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect. We went here for dinner one night on a whim, looking to try a new place, and we were far from disappointed! The food was amazing and the portions were reasonable. Prices are comparable to other local restaurants like Illiano's, but the food was better quality. Minimal negative comments to be made, but I wish the place was bigger and had more parking. The bartender was also a little off-putting at first... That said, my girlfriend and I split the arancini and the smothered chicken and fell in love with the place! We brought home a pizza for her daughter and almost ate it ourselves despite being stuffed to the gills from our meal, and now the kiddo wants Castello's every time we don't feel like cooking. I have been to Castelloof Niantic a few times for dinner and it has always been great! The wait staff that we have had has been very attentive (Ashland & Leeann). We visited with our book club and as a party of 10 had an amazing time! We emailed ahead for a reservation and got a quick gracious reply. We arrived early and table was set and we were greeted by the friendliest man, I believe this was the owner, there were even hugs exchanged. He chatted with us and suggested some books we may enjoy. Service was superb and food was AMAZING! We had a service animal with us and staff was very accommodating. While parking is limited, we had some guests park across street, after dinner they were escorted to cars by the host, as to not walk in dark alone. Top notch service. Tonight was my first night at Castello"s but definitely will not be my last! Great service and spectacular food. from our appetizers to our entrees!
The portions are huge and the quality it's spot on. We had the calamari, mussels, and shrimp and corn chowder for appetizers,
and for dinner, braised short ribs over polenta, chicken masala, and I had the cavatelli with Italian sausage and broccoli rabe.

Went today Six of us all 1st time..3 had Today special Chix wrap W/bacon and garlic fries All loved it! I also had the Lobster bisque. .Delicious..Had to take my wrap home..1had a panni sandwich w/garlic Fries She will be returning for dinner..&Her guy had a burger and garlic fries I believe that they really enjoyed it as they have found a great new place to dine! Another try the Macaroni and cheese with Lobster..In a white cheese sauce..So delicious..had to take it home also..Service was great,polite,timely& knowable of the meun! My mom's 90th birthday couldn't have been better ! The food was excellent, homemade, & plenty of it. The owner on short notice tailored a menu to our taste , at a great value, a lovely buffet. The food was fresh & hot. The stuffed shrimp & chicken parm were awesome, & the stuffed bread & garlic knots outstanding. The wait staff were so friendly & professional, and super efficient. Plates promptly removed & drinks refilled. I just can't say enough good things about this place, & the people that own it, & work there. The atmosphere is so cozy and the staff is friendly, efficient, and helpful. We split a Cesar salad and ordered a large pie. The salad was fresh and delicious (and we were happily brought extra dressing). The garlic knots are extraordinary!
The pizza was so good, we had sausage and fresh basil, and the sauce is perfect. Happy to bring the leftovers home!

Best pizza in the area!! We have already tried a bunch of the specialty pizzas as take-out. My personal favorite is the Fresca. It was our first time actually dining there last night. The two pasta dishes were amazing (clams linguini and the ragu), and the pizza was top notch as always. We also ordered two children sized pizzas. One had gotten a bubble in the middle so it was falling apart. We didn't even mention it as my son was devouring it and didn't care at all. Our waitress came over (unprompted) and told us the kitchen was sending us another children's sized pizza because of the mistake. They kept it hot on top of the oven and handed it to us on our way out. Now that is what I call awesome customer service! We are lucky to have this gem in Niantic. More...

My wife and I had our rehearsal dinner (20 people) here for our wedding Friday September 17th. The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was great, the wait staff was fun and attentive, and the food was delicious. The entire experience was simply delightful. From the beginning when we contacted Castellos of Niantic to inquire about a rehearsal dinner the owner, Stanley, was nothing but the best to work with. He was more than accommodating, the process was simple, the food was great, and the desserts were delicious. Had an absolutely amazing dinner at Castello's last night!

Wonderful outdoor patio dining with warm personable and attentive service.

I saw a Scallop dish posted a few days ago and have been yearning to try it all week. Well last night was that time! Rich, flavorful and light. The Lemon, Tomatoes, Asparagus and Risotto Cake are as visually stimulating, as they are a delight to the palate...

The Canolis that come out of their kitchen rival or better any Canolis I've had on Arthur Avenue, the place by which I judge all Italian cuisine and pastries.

Finish it off with my signature Cappuccino and life is complete.

So, SO good. We dined with our one year old. Not all places are happy to see a toddler and the waitstaff were all super friendly and attentive.
My husband liked the meatball appetizer (I tried and liked too) and the salads are made with fresh ingredients and they are a nice size. The Bianca pizza was amazing! The ricotta was so fresh tasting and the crust is thin. This is the best pizza around here by far! My husband really liked the chicken parmigiana, too. We will definitely be going back soon!! I struggled to find the perfect place to celebrate my husband's birthday with our three young boys. The menu was appealing, so I gave it a try. It was the absolute perfect choice- everyone was thrilled with the food and that doesn't even happen when I play short-order cook at home. Our boys said the pizza was the best they ever had and the two of them devoured two baskets of garlic knots. The Arancini was a perfect app and my strawberry salad with salmon was fresh and delicious. The Short Rib Ragu did not disappoint the guest of honor. We appreciated that the waitress was attentive to our needing to keep the evening moving but we didn't feel at all rushed. We completely enjoyed having the patio to ourselves, but with the food and service that we experienced, it should be packed! We will be back soon! More...

I just ate at Castello of Niantic for a quick bite to eat before a road trip with some girlfriends. We all had grinders - 3 chicken cutlets and a chicken parm. It was SO good, the server, Marla, was friendly and warm and we had a great experience. The chicken cutlet was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend and would love to go back!!! More...

Decided to try Castello for restaurant week (RW) with a friend.  It was really busy on a Friday night.  The small parking lot was packed.  I had to park a street away and walk over.  FYI: Over flow parking is at the Niantic Center School. We went for RW but then, we changed our mind and ordered from the regular menu.  We both got cocktails and they tasted yummy.  For entrees, it was eggplant rollatini and cavatelli with short rib ragu.  Both was delicious.  I had the cavatelli and it was tasty - rich and a bit greasy.  I wished it had a bit more acidity from the tomatoes in the sauce.  The onions was chopped up a big big, too.  For dessert, it was molten chocolate cake and peanut pie.  I had the peanut butter pie.  It was perfect - creamy and nice balance of peanut butter and chocolate.  Our waitress was nice and attentive.  No complaints there.  We noticed it was a packed house and didn't have any lag in service.  We made reservations but ended up with a table right by the door so that was a bummer.  As for the crowd, it seems to be an older crowd.  Solid.  3.5 stars. Great experience! Went there last night and enjoyed it! Having worked in places I could offer critique if the aim was high - however I felt they nailed the environment perfectly. Glad this is right down the road!
