Went with my wife for dinner last night. The girl came to our table and asked us what we’d like to drink and never came back. We waited 30 minutes and we walked out. The only reason we even waited that long was because their guy singing outside was phenomenal, so I guess that’s a good thing but the service is horrible. fantastic meal. Three of us went we had an appetizer and we each order three large plates and shared a dessert the food was fantastic. the lechon was right on point. the tostones with avocado and salsa as an appetizer was fabulous. my friend got a Mofongo sampler with three pieces. shrimp, beef, chicken. the other in our party got the chimichurri steak whence came with rice and beans and fried plantains. all the food was excellent, the service was very polite and good. The owner came over to make sure that everything was good as well. Lively atmosphere with Latin music playing. all in all a good experience. for lighter fare, they have lunch specials on their main plates for 999 and a selection of sandwiches with a Caribbean Flair. One of my guests mentioned that the Cuban pressed sandwich was very authentic. should also mention that alcohol is served with a variety of mixed drinks and there is a small bar in the restaurant. highly recommended! Mojitos were ok. Some food was good and the mofongo had no flavor. Then the gratuity was put at 18% because the ticket was more than 100 for 3 people dinner. My friend ticket was 70 and also had to pay the 18 % gratuity. And on top of that she gave the waiter 10 extra dollars because she didn’t know that they were already charging her the gratuity. OUTSTANDING flavors. Casa Cubana is on our regular Grub Hub rotation during quarantine. Our 8 year old son loves the food and we love the variety. Just prior to quarantine starting, I had taken our son there on our “date night” by his request. We met the owner, he showed our son one of the fresh fish they were about to prepare and took extra time to show us hospitality. Not only did we enjoy everything we ate and drank (coconut mojitos are delicious!) we felt like we were treated like house guests. Love this place and sure hope our community can continue supporting them during this crazy time. Our whole family is certainly looking forward to returning to the restaurant when COVID subsides. After having several very positive experiences at Casa Cubana, their attention to customer safety seems to have slipped in a most unfortunate way. ..I cannot fathom how or why a restaurant would allow its kitchen staff to work without any masks - especially when COVID is surging. The food was ok but the service was not good. We waited 20 mins just for drinks and there were only 2 other tables. Service staff was young with no sense of urgency. I found them as a suggested page on FB promoting their birria taco special in honor of Hispanic Heritage month. Wanted to finally try the dish so decided to hit them up. I initially came because I’ve seen what the business has done for the community since the beginning of Covid, then the fact that is Caribbean food and a small business #shoplocal! then I was came and the space feels open and relaxed, ample parking, super clean and Miguel greeted me with a smile I could see even with his mask on. I ordered Ropa vieja, plantains and guacamole and everything was DELICIOUS (I’m even including a pic of the dish where the ropa vieja WAS because I devoured it ) The food came out super fast and Miguel’s service was as amazing as the food.
