I was interested in a car at CardinaleWay in Mesa. I found them very deceptive. I was interested in a 3 year old Miata with less than 2000 miles for $27,999. I asked for the total cost and was given $34,005. I added up the cost of the car, the sales tax and lisence. They were asking $2700 above that. I asked the sales person about it and he said that there was a $1900+ charge for +reconditioning". I didn't get to the other $800 charges so I don't know what they were for. Sold me a van, couple weeks later the transmission started to go out! Keep in mind they charge extra because the vehicles go through this whole service process. They had me bring it to service sat there for 3 days, then told me it needed a update that only ford can do. Took it to ford, they told me the transmission is bad. I made an appointment with Matt Shelton to look for a car for my middle daughter. He was warm and welcoming and incredibly helpful. After asking my budget, he was honest with me about my options and showed me some excellent cars. I was able to find a 2021 Mazda 3 Sedan under my budget. Matt never pressured me and my daughter and I are very pleased with the vehicle. It came with a warranty and service agreement so I have peace of mind buying a used car. Other reviewer's warnings are spot on. Advertised price on my vehicle was $14,999. Out the door it was $20,000!!!! They said it was for vehicle reconditioning and free oil changes and paint protection, none of which I wanted but they said I didn't have that choice. They wouldn't budge on the price even $100. Went to a competitor with an advertised price of $14,999 and my out the door was $16,500. They will not negotiate or budge on any fees and point to the * at the bottom of their website. Nice people that will wear a smile the whole time they try to rip you off for every penny they can. The only thing that keeps this from verging on criminal is the fine print they put on their website. I would never choose to go here again. More...

Avoid at all cost. A bunch of underpaid clowns who get off on refusing customers for scheduled maintenance appointments. I was told to leave the property upon arriving, their claim was that I offended someone at a different Mazda dealership over the phone, and that they were canceling my appointment. When I asked for an explanation they replied with "we don't have to give one we have the right to refuse anyone"..... if that doesn't sound like a power trip I don't know what does, petty people creating situations for their own amusement. On top of all this nonsense, they shoved a bogus car fax report at me on my way out claiming I bought a car that had been in a wreck, as if to try and make me feel like I was the idiot....Upon running multiple Carfax reports, no accidents have ever occurred to my vehicle, just showing the level of intelligence they all have, as car dealers... The last thing I expected to do this summer was to be in a situation where I needed to buy a car. A roll over accident brought that situation to reality. Browsing online for another CX5 led me to Cardinale Mazda and Gerardo Grijalva. Gerardo was extremely responsive, communicating through my preferred mode-texts! I instantly trusted him. 24 hours after our first text, I walked into Cardinale Mazda. Each person I interacted with from the manger to the finance specialist was authentic and respectful. 2 hours after walking in, I walked out the owner of a new CX-5. Gerardo made the entire process...enjoyable! Who describes car buying that way? I do! And more importantly, after buying the car Gerardo has checked-in with me and assisted me with questions that I've had regarding the maintenance and paint protection plan. Fantastic service!! "Plus government fees and taxes, $1,997.00 reconditioning fee, dealer installed equipment (Tint/Door Edge GRD, Nitrofil, 3 year paint, 2 year / 24 month maintenance), any finance charges, any electronic filing and dealer document processing charge $999. 90"Went to see a pre-owned vehicle, and found out the above writing in fine print. Apparently they do this to all of their pre-owned inventory. The reconditioning is part of the business of selling pre-owned vehicles. You're already taking in these trade-ins at wholesale value, and selling them at retail. Yet you still charge customers this bogus reconditioning fee. The vehicle I'm seeing is a 2020 model and still has manufacturer's bumper-to-bumper warranty. Yet these clowns still wants to add their 2 year/24 month maintenance package on top of it. They told me it's "mandatory". Show me the law in writing where it says this is mandatory. The $999.90 doc fee.....good lord! These guys knows no bounds.Lastly, nitrogen filled tires.....how old is this scam? The atmosphere on this planet is 78% nitrogen. I've always preferred Chevy, however the last three I've had, have given me so many issues, usually before I hit 40k miles. So I decided to look around and came across the Mazda CX30 which I fell in love with. This dealership and their employees are most of the reason I wanted to buy the car. I've never had such a good experience! Ive always been pressured into buying a car I wasn't 100% confident in buying. Not here though! There was no pressure and they truly worked their magic to get me the best deal. I've had my car almost 1 year now and still do not regret buying it. This is the only dealership that I feel comfortable taking it to for service as well. I would recommend them to family and friends in a heart beat! More...

When you buy a car, you really want to know and trust their service department. I must say me and my fiancé Amber were so impressed with how professional Jesus from the service department and I believe Clint, the tech I actually met and spoke to who worked on my vehicle. These guys never gave me bullshit! They were straight forward the entire time. Problem was not easy to solve, they gave me their best hunch, they told me what I needed done; and what could wait. I purchased a Mazda 3 with cash from CardinaleWay Mazda this January.As I hold a valid California driver license and I told them I was going to back to CA in April, the saleswoman that helped me (name is Darlene Ledbetter) asked me if I wanted to register the car in CA. I said yes, so they gave me a temporary registration, and told me to bring all the documents to Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) in CA in April for registration. I asked her, do I need a title or something? How would the DMV in CA know the vehicle is not stolen? She said with the contract we signed and documents and so on, that should be enough, I don't need a title. And she also mentioned that all the titles in AZ were online accessible.Then I proceeded with the deal, went to the finance department (or something equivalent) of that dealership to sign the documents and pay the money. The man who worked on my case (I don't remember his name, maybe Chris or something) showed me the documents to sign. Before I did, I noticed the address are not correct, the apt number is missing. I told him so, and he said there wouldn't be any important documents mailed to the address, so it does not matter even if that is not accurate. I was too stupid to believe that. But I didn't know any better at that time, so I signed the documents.Then I drove to CA at the end of March, and my nightmare starts. I waited in the DMV for 3 hours in the line, and when I was served, the staff of CA DMV told me that I need a valid title. I thought I don't have one, but she told AZ has prepared one for me, and I need to get that original title to replace it in CA.I was shocked, for I did not know I should have got a title from AZ MVD. I called Darlene, and she said I should be able to retrieve that info through AZ MVD online system. I tried but I failed, for my car was not registered in AZ (the dealership provided a temporary one). What happened is, AZ MVD did send me a mail (my title) to the wrong address according to the documents, and that mail was returned. So, my problem is, I don't have my title, which is held by AZ, and I cannot access it online, for the car is not registered in AZ. Now I need to get it somehow.I called Darlene back, told her my problematic situation, and she said she will take a look. Later she contacted the DMV through the online system, and we got an email, but that is still not going to solve my issue. My temporary registration in CA is going to expire soon, which means I have to waste another 3 hours to renew it. I also sent AZ MVD a mail to request a replacement of the title (according to their website's instructions), but it will not be processed until another 6 weeks.Now it is super annoying for me, and I guess I would have to take a flight back to AZ for one day just to solve this issue. But this could be avoided in many ways. AZ MVD sent the mail by the end of January, and I did not leave AZ until Mar 31st. If I had known that there was a title coming, I would go to the DMV in person before I left. Also, if the wrong address was fixed, I should be able to receive my title. Now I have to spend extra money and energy to fix this, all by myself.This is a total mess for me now, and I am very disappointed. I know the COVID have made it more difficult for everyone, and currently it is not easy to get cars in town. I am glad CardinaleWay Mazda have new cars available, but I am still very, very disappointed. Now I have to take a personal leave from my work, spend money for a round-trip flight from south California to Phoenix, and spend quite some time in both CA and AZ's department of vehicle, to solve a issue that could be avoided. I went to this dealership on 4/4/22 after seeing on the Mazda website a special lease offer for a CX-30. The offer stated $2999 due at signing and a monthly payment of 179 a month for 24 months excluding taxes and fees. We called liar Mike Bellcourt and he told us he would certainly be able to help us out. Once we arrived after wasting our time with a test drive they got us in the dealership to tell us that the deal is cool but they didn't care about the deal being advertised from Mazda. They let us know that it would actually be $2999 due at signing and $385 a month for 36 months. That is quite literally a 116% increase for the lifetime of the lease, MORE THAN DOUBLE the advertised cost despite having tier 1 credit. When I told them no I'm here for this particular lease special they ignored me and told me no matter what it's going to stay around $385 a month. They also refused to itemize all these added costs.I would never recommend this dealership to any family or friends and would never recommend working with Mike Bellcourt or anyone at this Mazda dealership because they blatantly tried to get over on us by 116%! I just filed a complaint with Mazda corporate and will be filing a complaint with the BBB & the FTC for deceptive business practices. Classic bait and switch. More...

I came in for a specific lease deal on the Mazda website, everything went great until we got to the numbers and financing. At that point they brought back a deal that I had not asked for and the monthly price was over double what the Mazda website was advertising, this is against consumer protection act. We've been using Cardinale Way service department for over 15 years. Nick Santarsiero always takes great care of our vehicles.
