Scott and Cardel just catered our wedding of 100+ people.  They were so wonderful to work with, and the food was absolutely amazing! We decided to have a very California-inspired menu with several appetizers, three entrees and a large desert bar. We had many special needs with some of our guests, and Scott and Andrea worked with us to design the perfect menu. Throughout the entire process they were incredibly helpful, professional and responsive.The best part is that the food was exceptional! Many of our guests (and many self-proclaimed foodies) commented that this was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. Saw them first at Rosenbloom Winery, and decided to try them out for the 55th Anniversary of my firm, and jointly my 75th birthday.  The event went on from 6 to late starting with oysters, and carrying on with trays of food, including french fries done with beef tallow and vegetable oil.  This went with a 50 lb whole pig.  They were cleaned out, and I am getting daily letters from guests telling how much they enjoyed the affair. Last week Scott catered a small lunch at my house--35 adults and 5 children.  The food was delicious, plentiful and beautifully presented.  Scott helped me with the menu selections and everything was perfect.  Equally important, the staff was so nice, so courteous and a pleasure to work with.  The service and appearance of the food was impressive and my guests raved about it.  I cannot tell you what  a wonderful person Scott is.  He is so personable and clearly takes pride in his cuisine and the quality of his service.  We have had a luncheon at our house for many years and I always did the cooking.  This year I decided to have it catered.  I was able to enjoy my guests and did not have to worry about anything.  What a pleasure! I have to echo the comments about Scott and Constance being the absolute best to work with.  I was planning a class reunion and spoke to many catering companies and none were as easy to work with or able to meet my budget like Cardel.  The food was delivered as promised and it was amazing and delicious.  I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Cardel.  My phone calls, emails and questions were answered promptly. I have worked Cardel Catering on two events now and I'm absolutely thrilled with their service!! Constance and Scott made both events seamless and beautiful. The first event was this May, about 120 people, with an amazing meal of the best food I have ever experienced on a buffet. The Cardel team took care of everything from the bar to the table settings, with everything timed perfectly to the schedule provided. A month later we hosted a smaller event of 70 people in a donor's home. Again, Constance and her team took care of everything and I didn't have to worry about a single detail. This review actually speaks to the character of the owner Scott Cardel. I had just been in a car accident with my son & daughter in law in Alameda. She was taken to the hospital and my son, torn between leaving his Mother in Alameda alone or going with her to the hospital. I told him to go, I'd take Uber, but then I couldn't figure it out and decided to walk. Using my phone GPS walking route, I headed out, but came to a split and was concerned for my safety as I didn't know the area. Didn't want to walk into a bad neighborhood by accident as I'm not a young chicken. I poked my head into his open office door off the street and ask if the person at the desk (Scott Cardel, owner) could look at my routes give me the safest walk, about 1.2 miles. He said he'd give me a ride and wouldn't take "no", and he did. Very nice and out of his way, but I felt safe as I entered the shady area of Bart. Thank You Scott for doing an old lady a good deed. They are just wonderful, I can't say enough good things about them!Last night I held a party for 200 for a very special community event, and wow did Cardel Catering ever deliver! I had worked with Cardel Catering before and was eager to hire them again as they did such a splendid job the last time. This time they really outdid themselves. The food was scrumptious and beautifully presented. Scott, Constance, Kimberly and all the staff were just a pleasure to work with from the beginning. They were completely professional about everything, flexible and had great follow through. Constance is a dream to work with. She came out to look at our venue, and as soon as she got there I knew that that there was nothing to worry about. Our celebration involved many different people working together and Constance was just lovely to all of us. She helped us to think through many of the different issues around having the party in the venue we had selected, with limited set up time and it just came off beautifully. Throughout the evening I got compliments on the food and literally all day long I have been told what a wonderful event it was and how much it meant to everyone who attended. I will choose Cardel Catering again and again for all my events. Their product is good, their performance is excellent. Cardel Catering is an excellent choice for your catering needs. Cardel Catering was referenced by a local venue that I had secured for my husband's 50th birthday party. The venue simply stated that Cardel Catering had catered previous events at their venue and that the patrons had been pleased with their work. I checked reviews which seemed favorable so I gave them a call. From the very first contact with Cardel Catering, I received the highest level of customer service. I had not worked with a caterer for a personal event in many years and really did not know where to start in the event planning. I simply knew the "style and mood" I was aiming for. Thank goodness for Connie! She listened in detail during face-to-face meetings and several telephone conversations. Chef Cardel also joined in and even met me at the venue to ensure that my needs would be fully met.  The end result vastly surpassed my vision and hope. The two of them created the most amazing menu and presentation for my event. The food was visually stunning & delicious, and the serving portions were extremely generous.(I had been anxious about having enough food to which they assured me would not be an issue. They were right!)  In addition to the food, Connie added several subtle yet perfectly-placed accents that made everything pop! There was very, very little that I had to do for the event. Cardel Catering took care of everything. My husband and guests were impressed and, thanks to Cardel Catering, I came off looking pretty good myself! With only a month prior to a surprise retirement party for my husband, I met with Connie to see if they could assist with my party plans.  The word assist does not even come close to the phenomenal service I received.  Once I had some menu ideas, Connie, along with Scott, the owner, provided a tasting to help me firm up the menu.  Each item served was fresh fabulous and perfect for our party.  Since this was such a special occasion, I arranged for 2 of the staff to work the party passing appetizers and setting up the buffet and doing anything else that was needed to make the evening a success.  Connie and Christine took over my kitchen. They were professional and very accomdating to everyone.  At the end of the evening, you would never had known there was a party as everything in the house was clean and in place.  Even the trash from the evening was disposed of. The food was a hit and I have never been so excited to see my guests go back for seconds and even thirds.  This made for few leftovers which was fine with me. I would not hesitate to call Cardel Catering again for my party needs.  It is so refreshing to have someone else prepare the high quality food and serve all the guests so I could enjoy the evening just being the hostess. This relatively new outfit is legit, classy, and delicious.  It's a great thing, too, since Alameda really needs a high end caterer.  Their cheese spreads are phenomenal, and the smoked salmon was the best you can get in the bay area.  Will definitely be using these guys for our holiday gatherings. I've used Cardell catering for my kid's Bar and Bat mitzvahs and everyone raved about food, which was delicious, beautiful to look at and affordable.  Since then I have hired him to do several retirement dinners and holiday luncheons at my work and everyone is always really happy.  Last year we didn't get to Scott in time to reserve for the holiday party and he was sorely missed! Cardel Catering is absolutely wonderful. The food is outstanding, the customer service is fabulous and they are very good at working within a budget. I use them frequently for work events and have gotten tons of feedback from clients about the great food, and I love them so much I recently used them as my wedding caterer! Cardel Catering is a fantastic firm. They catered numerous functions for us and have always provided outstanding food that my guests and colleagues continue to mention months later (Hello, lamb sliders! ) Scott Cardel seems to have "magic picker" when it comes to hiring staff: everyone on his team is professional, skilled, and great at the rapidly vanishing art of customer service. They were even able to whip up an imaginatively delicious Cuban/Soul food meal for our commitment celebration that wowed everyone.
