Dan is probably the most engaging and easy to be around photographer I have ever worked with. It’s hard to find someone who can give you direction while also making you feel like they aren’t there, but Dan has seemingly figured that out.
I’m also as non-photogenic as they come and he got some shots of me that actually “look like me” in my happiest form. Very easy to be natural and comfortable around, and he’s a really respectful guy.
Oh yeah, and he took some of my favorite photos I’ve ever had. Awesome quality and quick, too! Phenomenal bang for my buck, truly a top-notch pro. Great working with you, Dan!

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Always get the best shot possible. Each session is different based on what or who you're photographing, but at the end of the day you need to simply make it awesome. Take pride in what you present to your client.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
When do you need these photographs back from me and in your hands?
What do you love most about your job?
For family sessions and portraits, I love that my work goes up on people's walls. It's awesome when Christmas cards come in and that's my photograph. Screensaver, phone background, profile photo, etc. I do love bringing that joy to people and capturing moments.
In terms of real estate photography... Same deal on most of that. Often, sellers request the photographs as a keepsake to remember their home. I love when realtors say, "The photos sold the house!" Love that.
What inspired you to start your own business?
A 1-2 hour commute to and from work each day. Tiny cubicle. Once I decided that was not for me, starting this business gave me the ability to make lasting memories for people while making my own hours was amazing.

Everything is on location. Obviously, when photographing real estate. Plus, for family sessions outdoor parks, towns, etc. are the best spots.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Keep my drone at 6 feet. Ha! Never really get to close to people in general, and most of my work is done outdoors where transmission is basically zero. If you'd like to mask it up, let's go for it.
