What a wonderful experience & escape from the daily noise & hustle. An hour with no light or sound was exactly what my soul needed to recharge & the magnesium in the salt water has an extreme calming effect. They are incredibly kind & accommodating and have a refreshment bar that offers kombucha on tap, with a wide selection of local gourmet teas too!Looking forward to incorporating weekly floats into my self-care routine. I am a skeptic of all new treatments being a chronic pain sufferer. I am a cancer survivor, was in a head on car accident a year ago and have been recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia.  I am grateful when things even improve a little, with some relief. My sweet friend gifted me one of his floats.  And I will forever be in his debt. For a whole day I did not feel pain in my hands (carpal tunnel/elbow), neck, shoulders, knees (patella replacement soon) and back.  Some pain is back but it isn't at it's usually intensity.  I can't tell you how highly I recommend this treatment. It's not as claustrophobic as I thought it would be. It really was just...relief and peaceful.  I did have to remind myself to relax and let the water float me. I would recommend checking everywhere on your body with the Vaseline that is supplied.  I have a tiny cut on my finger and it certainly stung but I was too lazy to get out and put more Vaseline on.After the float there is a Creative Space and I enjoyed a little needed art therapy too.  Jody the Capital Floats Guide was awesome!  Overall a very needed, resetting experience.  I'll be back. The facility was clean and relaxing, they provide masks if you don't arrive with one. I will be returning! Highly recommend this place. More...

The ultimate in relaxation for mind and body❤️❤️❤️❤️

I tried out floating for the first time today! I was nervous but there was no need for that! What a blissful experience.  The man at the front desk was friendly but not super helpful and I felt a little rushed with the instructions he gave me. He didn't give me the option to change my music or light color but I knew that was a possibility since I read the other reviews.  They have a sheet hanging up on the wall in the room with a few more tips so that was helpful. They advise showing up 15 minutes early but I would recommend 20 minutes so you don't feel rushed. Your float time starts right at your scheduled time so you have to shower and get ready before that. They offer free Classy Hippie Tea before and after your float which is so yummy and another reason to arrive a little earlier. Each room has a private shower and changing area next to the float tank. I was in room number 4 at the end of the hallway. You put your earplugs in (two different kinds to choose from) and then do a quick rinse and then hop in the tank (no swimsuit needed). I used the Cosmic Om music (soft background music with bells and the om sounds) which was really nice and relaxing and the red-colored light. You can pick out your options at the front desk before your float. I didn't have time to listen to all the options. I wish they had them on their website so you could pick it ahead.  After about 5 minutes I turned off the light and halfway through I turned off the music. There are large buttons on the side of the tub to turn them on and off. With the music off I was able to hear my breath and relax my thoughts. With the lights off I felt like I was floating in space. I also picked an intention before I floated which was nice. I tried a few different positions with my arms such as at my sides, resting on my body or bent above my head. I found that I liked them above my head the most. They also have a small ring you can rest your head inside if you want. I felt completely relaxed afterward. It is an indescribable experience and I highly recommend you experience it yourself to see what it is like. I am looking forward to my next float!! Next time I want to try the infrared sauna or the Somadome (meditation pod) before my float. Then you shower off all the salt. They provide shampoo and body wash and a washcloth. It is not organic though so bring your own if you want that. Afterward, make sure you allow yourself plenty of time in the post-float area to paint or draw, journal, read, drink tea, water or kombucha, stretch, or just relax. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They also have some CBD products and shirts/tanks to shop from. The only problem I had was that I forgot to not shave my armpits so there was some burning. I put some Vaseline on which helped. Make sure not to shave any body parts before your float! Also, they say you don't need to bring anything but if you are going out for a meal afterward I would suggest bringing a comb or brush, deodorant, etc. so you can get ready after your float. They have a small vanity area in the post-float area if you need a space to get ready. They provide everything else such as a towel and flip flops. Afterward, if you want a healthy meal I suggest Vibe Health Bar (just next door) or Sun and Soil which is just about a 5-minute drive away. Both have organic and vegan cold-pressed juices and meals. Or the Strapping Store is just a couple of minutes' walk with really fun and unique gifts. More...

An amazing experience in a wonderful facility! I've been coming here since they opened, and I owe them a five star review. This place just keeps getting better, and my floating experiences get better each time too. The crew here are so helpful and kind. If you haven't tried floating, you're missing out. Seriously good stuff. Back pain? Stiff neck, shoulders? Buh-bye! You can choose to do it sensory deprivation style too (which I highly recommend). This spa is very nice. Immaculately clean, lots of natural light, positive energy, and good vibes. Friendly and welcoming staff. I tried the infrared sauna for the first time and it was a perfect pre-float ritual. It's a very relaxing, soothing heat and a bit different from any other sauna I've tried. I personally liked this one much better. You can implement Chromotherapy to your liking and can even use your own music through Bluetooth speakers. Loved my experience and I'll definitely be back! I can't say enough good things about the Auburn location! The facility has always been sparkling clean and the atmosphere is spot on. If you are looking for the best place to relax, rejuvenate, and find peace, this is the place to go! While I have not had a massage yet, I like how the Auburn location has the ability to have a massage, float and the infrared sauna. At the Sac location, I would do the sauna, float and somadome for a trifecta of relaxation. But I prefer the Auburn location as it is closer to home and I love it's more rural spot (as opposed to the city). For cancer patients and survivors, I found great solace in the deprivation tanks while I was undergoing chemotherapy. As I mentioned earlier, the facility is super clean and hygienic, which was critical for my safety during treatment. I continue to return to this location, Hailey and Celina are so kind and have always provided excellent service. I highly recommend, scheduling is a breeze. Book your spot today! More...

Clean, professional and well planned, but who wants to be in a 94 degree stream room and bath in the middle of summer? Recipe for dehydration or heat stroke. No thanks. It'd be easy to replicate the experience at home in a tub for about 1/10 the price. Not sure what the attraction is, but other people may appreciate it better. More...

I've heard about and have been wanting to try floating for quite some time. This was a unique experience that I will try again and do very much recommend. The owner is helpful and kind. The space is well thought out and designed to calm the senses. One thing that strikes me most is the feeling of calm really does last. I did this on a Saturday afternoon. My mood that evening reminded me how I can feel after a really good massage. Now that it's the following morning, after a really good night's sleep, I'm still noticeably more calm. As I said, I will be back and have joined. With the chaos overload hitting us all, what a great thing to bring to our Auburn community. More...

I experienced my first float last weekend with incredible delight! In the float tank I literally “floated” in 1100lbs of epsom salt in water that is skin temperature, so for one hour I had no awareness of where my skin ended and the water began. It’s a true meditative experience as well with soft lighting and quiet music that I could leave on or turn off. Another benefit of this quiet hour is it “stops” the outside world. When you enter your private float tank room, you have a bench for your clothing and your own private shower with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. There’s a lovely sitting area that extends your “after soak” experience with comfortable couches, iced tea & water where you can journal or simply sit quietly as you slowly enter the outside world again. I loved it and I’ve joined as a member and booked my next floats! The infrared sauna I highly recommend as well... benefits associated with infrared sauna include detoxification, skin heath, easing of joint pain and muscle aches and more. WELCOME to Auburn Capitol Floats! So glad you’re here! More...

I've floated a few times in other centers, and this was by far my favorite experience. There's something about the combination of elements in the space that invites a deep presence and prepares one for the float. It feels airy and clean in every detail, and I immediately felt safe and comfortable there. The float itself was more relaxing and insightful than I could have imagined. I felt my body unwind and release tension in way very similar to receiving high quality craniosacral bodywork. As I relaxed into the most peaceful state of mind I have experienced in so long, I was finally quiet enough to hear my body''s messages and re-realized the profound mind body connection. I will definitely be back to Capitol Floats, hopefully many many times and my family and I are hoping to make it part of our regular health care routine. More...

So happy Capitol Floats is back open! Love this place for an infrared sauna sweat. So clean, relaxing and everyone is always friendly and helpful. I mistakenly purchased a five pack of the somadome and they quickly converted it to sauna sessions without hesitation and even apologized although it was 100% my mistake. Definitely give a float or sauna a try, you'll leave refreshed and relaxed. More...

I've been using float tanks all around the state for 3 years and sent two of my elderly relatives to Capitol Floats to try out the experience.  Once finished they came back and told me they had a very uncomfortable float where their shoulders and trap muscles were strained the entire time and was not comfortable at all during their session, and in fact exacerbated some of the shoulder issues one of them had.I called and asked what the deal was and I was told they should have raised their arms above their head or they could have provided support but I was able to confirm none of this was communicated during their session.  Nor was any sort of reparation or apology for the strenuous 60 minute session offered.  Seriously disappointed by their attitude towards our expensive session.  I am glad to report that Sacramento has many float tanks around town that are much cheaper and with newer technology so highly suggest looking around before settling on this one just because it is one of the older ones in the city as it seems this place has gotten complacent over the years. I have been floating at Capital Floats since they first  opened in  2016. I was unsure about floating when I first began, but the staff have always made me feel so comfortable and have helped me progress with my practice through their instruction and welcoming environment. I love the openness of the tanks as it feels as if it is its own room in and of itself. Capital Floats is always very clean and I can see they take pride in their facility.  My most recent float was a reminder of how much I love it there and cannot say enough good things. More...

I won a 60 minute float in a raffle so tried it for the first time about a month ago. I added the 30 min sauna before the float, felt so good to sit at a nice constant heat, listening to music in a very private setting. Then I moved on to the float room in the robe/flip flops/bag provided by Capitol Floats...I was given the perfect instructions on how to enjoy my float by a knowledgeable and extremely personable staff member. It was AMAZING...I'm claustrophobic and still loved it. So much so, I went back 2 weeks later for a Somadome session and 60 minute float. I have had a terrible January with a flood in my home, all floors are torn up and walls cut out, horrible experience with mitigation, etc.. But my two visits to Capitol Floats during the experience was EXACTLY what was needed to let go of the tension. The guided meditation in the Somadome was amazing, the relaxing chair and private setting for this was perfect as well. When you finish your experience, move to the post float room for quiet time to read, draw, create, etc. Enjoy their classic choices of hot tea, or delicious real Kombucha and just enjoy the entire experience. The staff is amazing, the facility is perfect. Memberships are affordable and explained simply. They don't pressure you to purchase memberships, which is nice. I'm definitely making all Capitol Floats has to offer a more consistent way of unwinding and recharging. If you have tried it yet, you must! And Capitol Floats is the perfect place to start. More...

So great to have your own space to shower, float in the salt water tank, relax, decompress, think or NOT, and just be. This was awesome for my spine which is not a happy camper. The R and R room afterward was well stocked with anything you might need to re-hydrate, jot notes, stretch, read or draw. I was pleasantly surprised and I have been to Calistoga many times.
