Q&As

Helping pet parents gain a deeper understanding of their pups and nurturing deeper connections between them. That and being the ‘treat lady’ to hundreds of dogs!

After working in veterinary medicine for 13 years, with a strong specialty in behavior, I realised that my ability to really help improve the mental health and emotional wellbeing of the dogs I met every day was limited to advice given in 15 minute consultations or over the phone. Starting my own training business and gaining additional certifications had allowed me to truly fulfill my dream.

I’m experienced, qualified and accredited, but more importantly I have a deep love for dogs. I’m fascinated by how they behave, think and learn and constantly surprised at their depth of emotion and intelligence.

I do not currently offer remote/online services as I personally don’t believe I can be as effective as a teacher without meeting the dog in person.

I am vaccinated, boosted and am happy to wear a KN-95 mask upon request.

Services

I provide tailored training services for a wide range of dogs and their needs, ranging from first-year training for puppies and young adults to more advanced problem-solving for pups experiencing anxiety, compulsions or aggressive-type behaviors. I will never use harsh corrections, fear or force.

Specialised training for pups under six months of age. I focus not only on obedience and good manners inside the home, but also how to safely and appropriately socialise your young pup and prepare them for the real world.

As the owner of a reactive dog I fully understand how frightening and upsetting it can be to watch your pup struggle through issues fuelled by fear or frustration. While I do not provide the quick fixes often guaranteed by some trainers (often by using e-collars, or other punitive measures, to treat these issues) I can promise that my methods are effective, science-backed and free from any fear or force.
