We have always enjoyed staying at Cambria Pines. Accommodations are clean, staff is friendly and helpful, grounds are exceptional and location is central to the activities we enjoy. Meals are also exceptional.

Staying at Cambria Pines Lodge provides walking distance to the Cambria Christmas Market and Light event. A nice drive from Silicon Valley allowing enough time to also tour San Simeon Hearst Castle and the town of Cambria.

Overall the lodge wad great and we enjoyed the weekend. Our only problem was locating the office when we checked in. The Christmas market was in full swing and since this was our first stay we came in the back of the horse shoe and since there was no signage we had to keep asking for the office was. We will be back and now that we are familiar with the grounds we won't have that problem. More...

Very impressed with the whole experience.. The Hotel and hotel ground was very well decorated, The staff very friendly, food was excellent, and would definitely recommend for anyone who has never gone or stayed at this Hotel.

Our stay was Ok since we were meeting family, but this time the whole place was very crowded and noisy because of the Christmas Lights Festival. Parking was scarce and if you tried to go into town, you had to go and come back by shuttle which took a long time. More...

Beautiful grounds and garden shop. Only a 20 minute drive to the Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery, 5 minutes to Moonstone beach and the Main Street of Cambria. The deluxe rooms we chose were large with two fireplaces and perfect for the colder weather during our visit in December. It is almost impossible to get a reservation (or a decent price) at the Cambria Pines Lodge, but if you go in December when the Christmas Market is DARK - you will get a room and a great price ($77. 00 including 2 breakfasts). We recently took a break from the Cambria Christmas market and dashed over to have a late dinner in the bar area of the Cambria Pines Hotel. It was a rainy evening and we were certainly happy to be warmed by the large fireplace and later hear music being played by a duo. This is a great place to have a snack or even a selection from their limited bar menu. I have stayed at this hotel twice and I absolutely love it the grounds are beautiful there are deer right off your patio. In the evening they have live entertainment and that's fun you get to dancing just relax . The restaurant is incredible I had creme brulee for dessert and absolutely thought it was the best ever. Ambiance is very nice. Gardens and lobby are homey and warm. Complimentary breakfast is good but not extraordinary. Room was decorated well and bed was comfortable. But only ask for room 903 if you are traveling with a 4 year old boy. The toilet is SO low to the floor, it would be easy for him to pee but difficult for an adult to get up and down. Really strange! This was not my first visit to Cambria or the Lodge but it is the first time we took my daughters dog. The Lodge has support for pets (designated cabins), and on site exercise park and outdoor seating for dining with your pets. ||||This is a beautiful location, about halfway between Lost Angeles and San Francisco, about 8 miles south of San Simeon/Hearst Castle. The Lodge has nice walking paths and the smell of the pines is very relaxing. You can actually walk down a path to town if you choose to. We enjoyed the lodge and it was so beautiful. The downside was that our suite was not thoroughly cleaned, and had dirt/dust on the floor under chairs and in corners, and in top of the furniture. Maybe others would not have noticed but with a toddler running around and using the pullout sofa and the Murphy bed, we moved chairs and furniture around to fit. We still enjoyed the trip but it was disappointing to have dirt and dust in so many places. The other thing that bothered us what that a long haired white dog must have stayed in the unit before us because the coffee table and pull out sofa (red color) had white fur on it and it was more noticeable when we removed the pillows to pull out the bed. It would be nice to have a more thorough cleaning when pets are previous occupants. We specifically went for the Christmas market and enjoyed that thoroughly.
