Celestial Shichons is outstanding! Wendy and her family are incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and loving! These puppies are top notch! My friend has Bella who is now 18 months. She is healthy and came from CS as advertised! Darling, smart, and unflappable! The puppies are handled/trained from Day One. Their development is documented by frequent photos and videos so you can watch them grow. Wendy skillfully exposes them to stimuli during their first 12 weeks of life while assessing their confidence and character. I have had many dogs and I feel like I have found the best. I can't wait to parent a puppy from Celestial Shichons! More...

I can’t say enough good things about Wendy Greene as a breeder and a trainer. As a breeder, her puppies are raised to be social, loving & as calm as any puppy can be! As a dog trainer, Wendy is the ultimate ‘dog whisperer’ and always goes above & beyond to help you no matter how small (or big) of a question you may have. Her years of knowledge and expertise communicating in “dog-speak” has been invaluable to me as a new dog parent &, more importantly, to my new puppy. More...

Dog Training

Wendy is super knowledgeable and has a pack of her own. You can see all the dogs get along in the pack and with their people. If you have a puppy/dog who has issues with strangers and other dogs then this is the best class to take. My puppy has become dog friendly and bonded with me greatly after the 2 months of classes. The classes are fun and it’s just nice to be near other dogs 🐶. Wendy’s dog Blanche is her co teacher and is the most gentle, calm companion ever. The price for the classes is great and the length of the program is long to help puppies become confident dogs. More...

Hi Manya, you and Venus did some excellent work. When she first came with us she was dog and people reactive and had not yet bonded to you. This is not at all uncommon with rescues who had some hard knocks before they get to there forever family. You were a pleasure to work with from day one! You soaked up all the knowledge I had to offer like a sponge and used it to benefit Venus tremendously. By the end of class, she was charging up to people and other dogs with tail wagging. Even when we dressed in funny hats and strange outfits to make her comfortable and calm no matter what goes on in her environment. She looks to you as her confident and competent leader. There's no limit to what the two of you can accomplish together. I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness in each other's company.

This breeder is top notch. The whole family is involved in one way or the other, and they love their dogs. They also do a lot of training. We loved our first puppy so much, we had to come back for a second one! More...

Hi Kelsey, I've always been amazed at the group of you that took four mixed breed puppies traumatized and abandoned on the side of the road and turned them into well-trained calm companions. You in particular went the extra mile to give your dog the safety and confidence of off leash training, agility, and road rally obedience, in our intermediate class. It was obvious that you did your homework every week. Your dog made truly amazing progress and I'm sure the two of you will have a long and happy life together. Check in every now and again and let me know how you're doing. You're one of my favorite success stories.

Wendy is an amazing dog trainer that has helped shape our energetic puppy into a well behaved dog! We received lots of individualized attention even in a group training session. She has lots of experience and is just as good at training the owners to be good dog trainers as the puppies! More...

I called Celestial Shichon about puppies and Wendy spent over 30 minutes on the phone giving me tips on working with my Shichon puppy! No one else has ever done that!! It’s obvious that she loves the breed and breeding these little angels. Thank you, Wendy... I’ll keep you posted on our progress... and I’ll get on your list if my parent decide they want one!! You’re the best!! More...

Wendy does such a wonderful job training and socializing these puppies! Our puppy is calm, confident, and cuddly-the perfect dog we were looking for. Wendy welcomes questions and takes the time to ensure the puppies are the right match for each family. She cares deeply for these dogs and takes a lot of time to train them before they are ready to find a new home. She was a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new puppy! -Laina D. More...

Q&As

My favorite part of working with people and their dogs is the moment when I first communicate clearly. I never know if the person or the dog is happier that communication is finally possible. But that moment of pure joy is what makes all the hard work worthwhile.

I'm a lifelong animal lover, particularly horses and dogs. I've had a Labrador retriever guide dog by my side since 1985. Those decades of interdependence and unconditional love have made me a better person. I want to share actually with as many people as I can.

In addition to decades of dog training experience, I'm a special education teacher. My job was to figure out how to teach one skill 10 different ways to 10 different people. This not only helps me when I'm working with the clients, but also with their dogs. Every living being is born with a set of traits. They are moldable to a certain extent, but the typical one size fits all training methods that you'll find in the big box stores I like PetSmart only work for a small percentage of people and puppies. I have skills that I teach in each class, both beginner and intermediate, but how each person and dog Masters those skills is totally individualized. I try and get to know everyone is an individual and work with them in the way that they're most comfortable.

I can, but I generally choose not to. So much of working with people and animals has to do with the energy that's going on in the room and any particular moment. You just can't feel that through an internet connection.

I encourage masks and have hand sanitizer on site for client use. We also maintain social distance both indoors and out.

Services

Briefly put, I facilitate communication between dogs and their owners. Most people do not understand the many things that dogs are capable of learning. I teach people to "speak dog", and I teach dogs to pay attention to their people. My training methods are 95% positive. I have spent 40 years learning many ways to tailor my teaching methods to the learning preferences of each person and the abilities of each dog. I get to know you and your dog as the wonderfully individual beings that you are. We will discuss your progress towards your training goals at the beginning of class, and you'll be given a homework assignment at the end of each training session. This keeps everyone focused and moving forward.

As far as I know I am the only trainer in Tucson that offers a guarantee to my dog training students. If you complete one of my classes and later have difficulty teaching your dog something new, you can contact me for up to three free training consultations. Sometimes all it takes is a gentle reminder regarding effective training techniques, or a new approach to communicating effectively. My goal is that you will learn so much about dog psychology and effective communication methods, that you will never need to hire another dog trainer.
