Califuze Catering

We hired Califuze for our wedding on 2/17/19 and this was honestly the best investment we made. We had around 95 guests and had the charcuterie board, drinks, tacos and bowls with three different proteins. We were blown away by Fred and his team from when we had the tasting with him to the day of our wedding. He really worked with us to make our vision come to life. Fred and his team were so easy to work with, accommodating with our requests and changes and went above and beyond for us on the day of and we can not thank them enough for making our day so special. Let me tell you, we had to scramble last minute for a Plan B due to rain on the day for our outside venue. Fred not only brought his tents and umbrellas for us to use but his team also helped us setup and clean up everything. It started raining during our speeches and one of his guys ran up to our table with an umbrella and stood there to hold down the umbrella and cover us from the rain. Literally a hero and MVP out of all of our vendors. Our guests loved the food, drinks and appetizers. They were really fast getting through all guests and many of them came back for seconds. His setup is so much fun, colorful and perfect for a rustic wedding. We got so many compliments from our guests on how amazing the food and drinks were and how friendly Fred and his staff was. We just hired this company to cater our Super Bowl party. We had well over 20 adults and quite a few kids as well. The service is terrific. The food was terrific. Kid friendly, adult friendly, and catered to all diets (vegan, Keto, etc). All of the food and sauces were A+. Everyone I came In contact with was also very professional, easy going, and just pleasant to do business with. Super impressed. Will DEFINITELY be recommending you to people I know, and will definitely cater from you again in the future. Loved the Concept, the quality, and even the style of your food. Hired Califuze for a family event and everyone was blown away!  The service was beyond professional.  Fred (the owner) truly goes above and beyond and clearly has a passion for his craft.  And then, there's the food.  Fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned and cooked meats and YES, the sauces are the star of the show. But this show is filled with stars.  We had the Santa Maria Tri-Tip & Adobo Chicken which were both phenomenal.  Taco, quesadilla or in bowl form you can't go wrong.  Even the little children at the event ate it.  Overall just a fantastic culinary experience and we couldn't be happier with the choice to use Califuze. My tastebuds have been blessed to be able to taste Califuze on more than one occasion. They have so many different variations of flavors, toppings, and sauces that it definitely feels like a new experience each time while still maintaining their style. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable on all the items being offered which is especially helpful to me due to my various food allergies/sensitivities. We had Califuse catered to our office for lunch and it was the perfect mix of food to suit everyone's taste!The meats were tender, juicy, and lean (Beef, pork, and chicken). The veggies were very fresh and the rice had an outstanding flavor, not bland like many other restaurants offer. To top it all off, they have an outstanding selection of sauces from mild to hot that compliment the food perfectly.I will definitely be referring this to my friends and family and suggest you give it a try for yourself. This is the second time that we catered from Fred.  The first time back in December also was a great experience for us and our guests. His tacos and bowls are exceptionally DELICIOUS.  This past weekend was my son's graduation party.  Everyone at least went 3X for more helpings. The fact that I kept meeting him at different events told me 2 things. 1.This food is legit(which was later confirmed and then ratified time and time again)And 2. people trust him.I got to strike conversation with him because, ionno... This company is AMAZING! I had them at my wedding and everyone loved them ! The owner Fred speaks with you and makes sure everything is the way you want it. He does a tasting and talks with you about what he's serving and the spices and rubs he will use on the meats and changes things based on what you want. Everyone at my wedding loved it and so did I. I hosted a friends baby shower at my house and had Califuze Cater the party. They were very professional and walked all the guests throw the food set up and how it worked. They gave recommendations on which meats/sauces/toppings went well together. As for the taste of the food it was AMAZING! Mango Chicken adobo was my favorite! I hired Califuze for my dad's 60th bday for a house party of 50+ ppl. Even tho it was a party at home, I wanted it to feel special and "expensive". Califuze definitely helped me achieve my goal! The super professional and clean food set up and well dressed , attentive staff took our party to another level. The food was amazing, and there were tons of options! All my guests appreciated they could build their own bowls/tacos -- and had fun doing it.Plus - my family is very Asian and we typically only have Vietnamese food at parties like this. They catered my friend's wedding party the food was delicious and they were very professional. Everyone who ordered would have a personal walk though on how everything's made what every topping is and the different kinds of sauces from taste to how spicy each one is. They also the gave recommendations on the most popular combinations and their personal favorites as well. I booked Califuze for a Co-Ed wedding shower I was planning and it was nothing short of amazing! Fred was very friendly and prompt-- he replied to all my questions right away about the different food options he offered on AND off the menu. He also was very accommodating in creating a menu that worked well within our budget. The Co-ed wedding shower had a very casual vibe, but I still wanted the food to be top-notch. The bride and groom are also big foodies, so I had to make sure I was booking the best! We had rice bowls and tacos with kbbq Tri-tip, curried beef, and mango chicken adobo with a great selection of toppings and sauces. Some people were aware we were having tacos, but were very impressed on the quality of food and the Asian fusion twist that Fred executed. Fred's associate, Bob, was there to help on day of the event. He got there on time and set up all by himself really quick. The set-up looked really nice and clean! He was super friendly and even offered to stay a little later than scheduled when some guests strolled in a little late. It wasn't necessary, but I really appreciated it. He also helped box up some leftovers so we could go back and eat some more later in the night! Over all, it was a hit and everyone loved the food. What can I say? Califuze service and food are topnotch! Check out their menu and book them! My husband's birthday was coming up and being that we are Vegan, I had to find a place that served plant based food. Fortunately, I found Califuze on Yelp. From the get go, Fred was kind and on top of it! He helped me plan out the menu and was available to help with questions and changes. Keep in mind that none of my family or friends are Vegan, so this was a great opportunity to introduce them to delicious vegan food! So the hubby was curious to try them out while we were at the soccer park w/ the family. The food was good, we had a rice bowl and a few tacos, I have to tell you they combine so many wonderful flavors and seal it with their super delicious sauces! So creative and good. So it wasn't until almost a year later that I was put in charge of food for a funeral that my hubby asked me to reach out to them...I'm so glad I did! They didn't only go the extra mile to make sure that everything, was perfect but they went beyond any and all expectations I could have had. During a very tough event, team Califuze didn't only come through, they earned my permanent business.  During this event, I mentioned to Fred about my daughters first Birthday that was in a few months.  Fast forward a few months later, through the stress & chaos of planning a party and juggling everything else, our conversation had slipped my mind. A couple of weeks before the party Fred reached out about the party, here comes Califuze to the rescue again! The party was a hit, their sliders and rice bowls were excellent! Just came by Macleods Brewing Co. to discover some just as amazing food. Healthy rice bowls accompanied by your choice of mango chicken , shredded beef or a Korean style tender tri tip. Chef Fred's creations do not disappoint. The flavors are amazing and you can really tell he takes his time creating a profile that's both complex and approachable. At our event, Califuze offered us three seriously tasty tacos: a smoked kbbq tri tip, a mango chicken adobo, and a tofu asada. All of them were great, but I was particularly struck with how much flavor he got into those little tofu cubes. The vegetarian option didn't feel lazy like you get with some places--you could really feel his passion for food. I discovered Califuze when they came to cater lunch at our office! There was a full taco bar, complete with a nice selections of meat fillings and savory veggies and toppings for my team.  They even had a delicious fish taco option for me, since I don't eat meat! :)  When the owner Fred let me know that they also do meal services, I had to give it a try... I'm on week two and am loving it so far.  I am able to customize tofu and fish lunch options w/ my choice of sides, sauces etc. right from the website.  There are of course meat dish options too.  Prices are extremely reasonable.  If you're looking for healthy but delicious meals with a wide and savory selection...these guys are a great option. :) More...

FRED FTW! This is the third time we've had him here at our office for Friday lunch and I've got to say they keep getting better and better. We hired Califuze for my sister's baby shower (of about 100 people) and it was awesome. Fred and his team we so professional and provided delicious food for our party. Our menu included options between rice bowls and bao buns. The meats were between beef, chicken, and pulled pork. The beef was so juicy and tender, the chicken had such good flavor, and the pulled pork was so smoky and delicious. Oh and can't forget about the sauces and the chips and guac he made. *mouth-watering* The service was impeccable and the setup was like a "chipotle" set up where you choose your bowl/bun and go down the line for all your fixings. We hired Fred for our corporate lunch and he was simply amazing! The presentation was phenomenal and the food was even better. Fred does a great job of taking simple plates and making them into a new culinary adventure, my personal favorite were his chicken tacos. Now these weren't your typical chicken tacos, they were Filipino Grilled Mango Adobo! Incredibly tender and juicy, I'm still thinking about them now lol. We booked Califuze for our party, and boy, did Chef Fred deliver!! From the get-go, Fred was very professional and was very accommodating. He built the menu and everything tasted so good! I thought he was joking when he said they don't use oil or butter...WAT? I couldn't believe it!! The food was prepared so well and you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients. Had the pleasure of trying Califuze catering at my work's Christmas party. Chef Fred was nice and hooked it up with those tacos! My favorite was the STEAK! You can taste the grill on it and the marinade was bomb. I went for seconds and got a bowl which was obvi yummy also. I went for thirds and sadly all the steak was gone. Don't sleep on the steak.
