California Cookout Catering

Amazing! I'm an event planner but used California Cookout for my birthday. Since I deal with events all the time, I put myself last and contacted them with two weeks notice. I was hesitant to try someone new (my favorite bbq guy passed away from covid unfortunately). I was not disappointed. They came through and went above and beyond. I usually give away my leftovers but this time I took it all home. However, my most favorite part of the experience was how simple it was to book with them. I dealt with the website and it instantly sent me a quote once I filled out the inquiry. Then their platform scheduled a time for a phone call to go over it in person. I often work in the middle of night after my kiddos go to bed and it was so nice to not have to remember to call during the day or play phone tag or feel like I'm bugging vendors during the time they are often their busiest (weekends). Booked with california cookout for my wedding, Unfortunately it was cancelled but Nathan made the process from the beginning to the cancellation soooo smooth. The taste testing he offered was fun and so good. Catering vendors can be the hardest and most expensive part of a wedding but going with them was the easiest. If and when I have an event on the books I will definetly contact Nathan again. CA Cookout catered my neighbor's surprise birthday party and I couldn't get over the fact that they had hot food.. hot.. and cold food... cold! Basically every catered event I've been to (weddings etc), the food is always Luke warm, whether a meat dish or a salad/desert. The setup was great and the food was delicious. Excellent service, delicious food. The peach cobbler dessert was amazing! They showed up on time, even with a last minute adjustment/correction. The chicken and steak were tender and juicy. Nathan and his staff were great! They are professional, down to earth, and friendly. I would definitely recommend them for your catering needs. They have several options to choose from. Nathan and the crew knocked it out of the park again! South Hills High School Class of 1979 40th Reunion was a total hit because of the wonderful catering provided by California Cookout. They arrived, set-up, and began serving exactly on time. The professionalism and warm friendly personality of Nathan and his staff is unmatched by any caterer I've ever used prior. Just had a fantastic event in which the food was hosted by Cal. Cookout and Nathan and one of his co-workers was there.  We were celebrating my girlfriend's 40th high school reunion.  OMG, has the time past by so quickly!!!It was 95 degrees++ and we were at Cortez Park, West Covina with about 50-60 people who showed up.  The event was great, meeting all of Beth's friends and enjoying talking to all these friends of hers.Nathan was in charge of the food and thus let us begin the review of the catering food now:)First off Nathan was super nice and friendly, and mind you, we were all standing around in 95 degree temperature.  We had some tents for some shading, but still it was brutal!  The food served was Tri Tip Beef, Chicken, Cesar salad, some awesome potatoes, seasoned bread, pasta, and for desert we had peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream.  Everything was great.  Very tasty and the chicken was outstanding. I love how it was marinated.I spoke to Nathan for about 10 min.  He is super nice and they do this catering type of business to events quite often. We have used Nathan and his team several times.  Nathan is so easy to work with and his prices are great.  Our most recent event was for my daughter's wedding at the Houdini Estate. The food was delicious and the service was top notch!  We had the tri-tip, chicken and salmon and sides and every dish was to die for.We got so many compliments and the food was hot and perfectly cooked.Our wedding planner, Tracy Sanders, was so impressed that she had him quote another event for her.  She said he was a "GEM" and I agree! We hired California cookout for our wedding. Nathan was very very great to work with. His customer service is honestly the original thing that sold us on our choice to hire them. Next was the food tasting that sold us. Everything was delicious . We had the tri-tip, mesquite chicken and tacos. Also had the peach cobbler dessert at our wedding instead of a traditional cake and it was a BIG hit and perfect for a summer wedding. We did have an issue with the caterer arrival time on the day of which pushed everything back a bit and some corners were cut because of it. My husband and I chose California Cookout to cater our wedding and we were very pleased with the quality of food and their service! Everything was ready on time and tasted delicious!
