I was beyond amazed at the quality of work and customer service I was given by the staff at Caketales! I was crunched for time as I had called on a Monday to order a cake for Thursday. Kevin, the guy who helped me out through everything with ordering and questions was polite and understanding. The cake I ordered was for my birthday and it was DELICIOUS! The cake itself had just the right amount of sweetness, but not over powering, which I LOVED. It was moist and fluffy, almost like a pound cake texture. The flavor of the cake I went with was strawberry, I thought it was just the filling, but the whole cake itself was flavored as well. I could definitely taste the freshness of the strawberries. Silly, but I couldn't stop starring as well as eating the cake altogether. The cake also held up pretty well from taking it to a restaurant and back to our hotel room. I am so glad I went with Caketales! I live 3 hours away from Frisco, took a confident decision on going with them, and boy was I 100% glad I did. First time coming to this place. I love the decorations and the big table when you walk in. Good for studying or going with a few friends. I tried a few of their cupcakes and honestly they're amazing. Not too sweet. Just right. The decorations on the cakes and cupcakes are very cute with the designs they have on them. Ordered a strawberry birthday cake and it was so incredible!  The cake itself was like a sponge cake texture, and the filling/frosting wasn't heavy, delicate and sweet, but not overpowering.  This was one of the better cakes I've had.  She did an amazing job decorating the cake.  I will definitely be using Caketales again.  Also, the cheesecake is DIVINE!!!  If you love cheesecake, you should try the one they make. Our daughter turned 3 today, and she wanted a cupcake to celebrate. We were in the area and went to the nearest cupcake seller we could find on google. She chose a strawberry chiffon cupcake. What I presume was the owner put a little birthday decoration on it, used a fancy platter for display and allowed us to stick 3 candles in it and light it. She then even got her a fancy golden bag and gave it to her as a gift to keep her toys or goodies in which she came home and filled with shopkin toys. So that was just the service! Now the product. I've been wanting to come in for a cake decorating class but I kept missing it. So I've decide to just drop in to try some cakes instead. I grabbed 6 cupcakes, 2butter cream and 2 chiffon cakes. These are more like Asian cakes because it's not super sweet. I like all of the cakes and one i didn't Love is carrot cake! OMG fluffy deliciousness.   Can't say yum, mmmm, posh nosh, creamy delight.  Omg how are they so pretty and so delicious?!?!?Somehow my first visit to this place was last month.  My daughter had a sleepover for her birthday and I face timed the girls from this place and showed them the cupcakes which are literally works of art.  Not only are they works of art, but the texture and flavor are perfectly crafted and unbelievably balanced.   These are not sugar bombs.  The delicate icing is a fine creamy blend of the perfect amount of sweet and smooth, with the cream being the high point, and the gentle sweetness and vanilla only enhancing the experience.  The actual cake is a simple yet beautiful base, and finely crafted to support its colorful companion.Cheesecake - holy mother Mary with Rose petals on top!  Creamy yet light and fluffy, firm yet smooth as fresh butter, and the graham cracker crust is perfectly compacted into light layers which remain crunchy and held together as if the crust fairy goddess QA's each bite before your fork knows where to go.I will post photos next visit.   Be ready.   You will be amazed! I took a cupcake decorating class here and it was great! 1.5 hours of instruction, fun, knowledge and a drink on the house.  The staff/owners are so nice and made me feel at home. Their cake and frosting is amazing and so delicious. They will work with you to create a custom cake to fit your needs. Wow is all I can say about this place.  I went here to just try a piece of cake and a cupcake.  We were looking for a place to get a cake for my son for his birthday.  While there I ended up grabbing a piece of the chocolate mousse cake and a blueberry cupcake.  When I got home with both items we immediately devoured and dear lord they were amazing.  Unlike a lot of baked goods locations the items at this location have real flavor and are made with very high quality ingredients.  The cupcake was a blueberry cupcake and it actually had bits of blueberry in it.  Perfectly sweetened while maintaining the real flavor of the fruit.  The chocolate mousse was to die for.  Silky and smooth my wife, my son, and I found ourselves fighting over the last bite.  This is our favorite bakery around and we will continue to come here.  Also we didn't even try another cake places for our sons cakes because none would live up to this standard. I was searching for a fun cupcake bakery and came upon this on Yelp! They were sampling the vanilla chiffon cupcakes, and although they are not a traditional cupcake, they are delicious! I brought a strawberry, vanilla, and salted caramel home and they got rave reviews! A little bit lighter and not as sweet and sugary as a typical cupcake. At Caketales your not just getting a cupcake, your getting a work of art. The cake decorator and owner of this establishment is a master cake decorator. The designs are just breathtaking, so much attention to detail. My husband and I were on the hunt for something sweet as usually and decided to drop in to see what Caketales had to offer. It was close to closing time so I wasn't expecting much, but to my surprise there were quite a few options. When we walked in the place was almost full. The dining area was small, but nicely furnished with no wasted space. We waited in line behind a gentleman who was very indecisive and held up the like for a considerable amount of time. The owner intuitively gave me the cupcake that I truly wanted to try out ( the I'm strawberry chiffon cupcake) and told me that it was on the house while we waited, I thought that was sweet, ( no pun intended). My husband and I devoured it before I was able to take a picture of it my apologies ;). It was very light and fluffy with a strawberry cream filling. It wasn't overly sweet and kinda reminded me of an angel food or sponge cake like the cakes I get at 85 degree bakery or Sweet Hut. It was beautifully decorated with a flower on top. Once the gentleman was finished order ordering the owner focused his attention on us. He explained the different treats to us. I opted for the chocolate traditional cupcake and my husband chose the cheesecake, I paired mine with their berry flavored tea and my hubby chose coffee. We paid and took a seat. The owner told us that his wife is the baker and he helps out here and there. He delivered our food to the table on a nice decorative tray. He then brought our coffee and tea over and asked in we needed sugar and cream and brought them over as well. He was very attentive and did an awesome job to say he helps out occasionally! The chocolate cupcake was very fluffy I absolutely love the texture and the frosting was not too bitter and not too sweet it was just right and had exactly the right amount of milk chocolate flavor to it. My husband enjoyed the cheesecake he said it was very creamy and the rose cream on top added a burst of extra flavor to the cheesecake; both were nicely decorated as well. The coffee and tea went well with the desserts. They were served in these cute little cups with wooden coasters and golden teaspoons! We both had an awesome time on our dessert date! We will be back. The cost was a bit higher than some of the other cupcake places in the area, but we felt like there was value in what we got and enjoyed the experience all the same! More...

This cupcakes are not just beautiful to look at but are also very tasty and satisfying. Had been waiting for them to open ever since I stumble on their Facebook page. I was very pleased with their cupcakes. My husband and I tried the strawberry chiffon cupcake and the chocolate chiffon cupcake. I am always disappointed with other cupcake places because their cupcakes are always dry and the frosting way to sweet, well I finally found a place where this is not the case. Both cupcakes were extremely moist and the frosting was sweet but not to the point where I couldn't keep eating it. I was also very impressed with how generous the filling inside was. The little shop is really cute and clean and the girl who was at the register was very nice and helpful. She had to explain things to me twice because I was looking at all the cute cupcakes and other pastries instead of listening but she was very patient and explained what everything was. Tucked in the corner at The Shops at Starwood in Frisco, we found this lovely bakery, Caketales. This place speaks cozy, cute and elegant at the same time. We did not have time to stay for coffee, so we ordered three cakes to-go and tried them with our friends. Glazed Chocolate Mousse is definitely the winner out of the three we tasted. It is moist but not too mushy like most mousse cakes are. Rose Cheesecake which is plain cheesecake with nicely decorated rose on top, boy oh boy, I can just eat the crust all day. Glazed Strawberry Mousse was the last one we tried, and it did not disappoint us - not overwhelmingly sweet with a little tangy taste. Not sure why the other review said the cakes were tasteless. We loved everything about the three cakes we tried and would go back this weekend to try those artistically designed and "too pretty to eat" Cupcakes!!!! More...
