OMG. I ordered a dozen of vegan cupcakes for my boss a variety of flavors and I'm honestly contemplating calling to verify the cupcakes are vegan. They are phenomenal. I've never had a vegan cupcake and heard terrible things. This place has blown away any expectation. I will definitely be ordering from here again. If this is what their vegan treats taste like, I can only imagine what their dairy treats taste like. The person who answered the phone was pleasant, my order was ready ahead of time (scheduled pick up for 6, they we were ready when I arrived at 5:30), and they taste amazing. Renea is always pleasant to work with and is great at creating your dream desserts. I've sent her inspiration pictures and she has continued to create exactly what I've imagined. To top it off, each and every dessert is incredibly delicious. I passed by this bakery on Northwestern Highway in Southfield, for 3 years and I regret never stopping until last week. They are so delicious and creative. I thought I was going to have cake left over, yet, my guests were taking cake home in their purses because it was so good! I grabbed the Bourbon bread pudding-and sampled it in my car, only to go right back in and grab another piece. Give them a try, go early in the day, at close there are not many cupcakes left.. Their cakes are moist and VERY delicious. They are doing our wedding cake and cupcakes and we could not be happier. We meet with Chef Renea to do a Wedding Cake Tasting and ended up purchasing a dozen of cupcakes to take home, in addition to the 6 cake flavors we sampled. I was skeptical of the other reviews about customer service, yet, we experienced great service from the two ladies that helped us prior to our tasting. I love this place! I don't go often (my hips tell me not to) but when I do I always go for the chocolate cupcake and lemon cupcake. This is a REAL chocolate cupcake. I'm about to go get one right now. Most so called chocolate cupcakes takes very tame and milky and cocoa-ish, not like straight chocolate. The icing on top of the cupcake is chocolatey too. Most cupcakes might possibly get the batter correct but the icing is a disappointment. Not so with cake crumbs. I like the batter and the icing. I have a serious sweet tooth so I'm my own expert. Thank you Cake Crumbs for 3 FANTASTIC cakes! This bakery has attentive staff that deliver excellent, yet friendly customer service.
The owner is very attentive to details and exceeded our expectations.
They are located on Northwestern Hwy, in a conveniently located strip. I love that they are open on Mondays. Everytime I visit, I must leave with a six pack of their delicious cupcakes.
They offer at least 20 different flavors everyday and have new flavors to choose from. The buttercream....I could eat with a spoon!
Their prices are slightly higher then others, but I am a firm believer - you get what you pay for. You can taste the BUTTER and the fresh berries and the assortment of flavorings...they are not the cheap watered down extracts.
Want a wedding cake that your guest will leave no crumbs...Have Cake Crumbs create your wedding cake. For my wedding cake tasting, they provided 6 mini cakes with astounding flavor.
Go see for yourself...Cake Crumbs has it all from cakes, cupcakes, parties and classes. I will keep you posted when I reserve my birthday party there.
