We took the 12 PM cruise to the battlefield and back. We had lunch - it was delicious. The battlefield excursion was interesting and informative, but required stairs and some walking. Charles narrated the entire trip and was funny and entertaining, as well as informative. His version of Katrina was thought-provoking and brought tears to my eyes. Definitely recommended!!! More...

We went on the Historic Cruise yesterday, at 2pm. It was really amazing. We loved the animation of the narrator telling us about the city and of course, the battlefield stop. We highly recommend this tour! We did not eat the buffet, so cannot attest to the food, but it smelled amazing! Very friendly, informative and a class act! Thank you! More...

Absolutely an excellent evening with terrific music, great food and a lovely atmosphere. The tables were well spaced, in separate rooms so as not to feel crowded. My suggestion however is that since there were multiple musicians in different rooms, that they be spaced out better/ further apart. We were near the doorway of one room so had a duelling banjo effect, then the overhead system was playing a third melody. Also, if you have bus tours etc, to move the dessert table away from the end of the buffet. I waited for 3-4 minutes while two men insisted that a pumpkin pie be brought out. Everyone was stopped in line because they wouldn’t budge, and everyone else in the tour was getting dessert to add to their soup, salad, and dinner plates. I informed them they could return to which he said, “no, there won’t be any if I leave”. There was plenty of food all evening, and the drinks were reasonably priced. Thanks for a great Christmas Eve Cruise! More...

My grandkids loved holding the alligator, the magician, and face painting and the great gift as they left. Hot dogs and chicken fingers were good, especially since we thought it was a “tea” with the little sandwiches that kids don’t like

We went on a cruise down the Mississip yesterday, on the Creole Queen. Charles narrated the Battle of New Orleans on the way down and Katrina on the way back. Charles was thorough and entertaining. The park ranger, Harold, gave us more detail about the Battle at Chaulmette. Basically, it was the end of the War of 1812; ending Jan 8, 1815, with the "bloody British", fought as they had full strength when the Napoleonic War had ended.,They had about 10,000 troops; we, about 1,000. Had we lost, England would have seized the Louisiana Purchase territory (the watershed from the Mississippi to The Rockies) and the US would have been confined to east of the Mississippi. Say what you want about Jackson; without him, the US would have never become the country it is. We did not have the buffet lunch, as we could eat any time, but to hear all of Charles' talk, we stayed outside. The cruise was a value for the money and extremely interesting. More...

This was one of the best experiences during our trip to New Orleans! My boyfriend and I did this for his birthday dinner! We thought the food was absolutely amazing and went back for seconds and thirds . We had a couple of drinks which were very good as well. The staff was super nice and the jazz band outside was so much fun! The views along the Mississippi at night are just beautiful. They also take your picture before you board the boat and you have the option to purchase them later on (we did!). Highly recommend! More...

I enjoyed the trip on the Mississippi with Steamroller Creole Queen to Chalmette Battlefied - site of the 1815 Battle of New Orleans very much - especially our great historian Charles on board who gave us many historical infos - his intense personal narration on Katrina on the return trip was alone worth the money !

If you should ever find yourself in the beautiful city of NOLA and love jazz music; I recommend the dinner Jazz Cruise. We were recently there over Mother’s Day week and wanted to take my mother on this cruise. From the making of the reservations prior to arriving for a party of 8 (2 of which needed handicap accessible assistance) through to the end of the cruise the entire staff were exceptional!!! I owe Destiny a huge Thank YOU for all of her help with coordinating our group and special accommodations; she is a delight and has the best hospitality skills I have come across in quite some time. The food was delicious, the Jazz bands were both really pleasant. The experience was one of my favorite things we did on our trip. So thank you to the entire staff that worked on May 10th, 2019; you were wonderful and I truly appreciate you all for making our cruise so special. I have not seen my mom smile that BIG in a long time. She very much enjoyed herself!! More...

Don’t get me wrong this was a great experience with an amazing band (Dr. T.) but the part that I didn’t like was, so my party, we didn’t get dinner tickets because they were sold out, which was fine. That meant we got to sit upstairs and watch the band, which was amazing. But once dinner was over, everyone from downstairs came upstairs and if I got up to go to the bathroom or take a picture, someone would come try to sit in my seat. And I can imagine it the people who had dinner who were not just kind of standing around trying to find a seat upstairs felt similar to how I felt, like they didn’t get to enjoy the show as much. ♀️ More...

What a great time. Food was tasty, and staff excellent. The historian Charles, was top-notch. He was interesting and held the attention of all the passengers with relative ease. An excellent orator and storyteller. What a wonderful time. On the way back from the excursion to the site of the battle of New Orleans, Charles gave the passengers the opportunity to go back into the boat if they did not want to hear the story of hurricane Katrina. He gave the disclaimer that it was a very intense story. What followed was an almost hour long retelling of that fateful event. We really didn't know half of what was going on. Such a wonderful experience. Truly a memory worth repeating. Cant wait to bring friends back!Attached is a pic of Jackson square I took from the boat on the way back. More...

Amazing historic cruise up the mighty Mississippi. We had reserved the morning cruise but it was cancelled due to fog, we easily switched to the afternoon tour. I loved our narrator for the cruise, Charles. He was funny and informative, and he gave a chilling recount of hurricane Katrina and the days afterward. Our stop at Chalmette battlefield was interesting and cool. We enjoyed the lunch buffet, but felt soda should have been included in the price. Overall it was a fun outing for a couple hours, and you can get some amazing insights into life in New Orleans both past and present. More...

This was easily one of the most memorable experiences while visiting Nola. The historian & guide Charles took us through the history of Andrew Jackson fending off the Brits and concluded things with a special retelling of Hurricane Katrina. This story in particular is something you will not want to miss. Charles spoke with a passion and vigor that everyone on the ship could feel - hands down one of the best public speakers I've ever witnessed. More...

Before booking this cruise I had to ensure that it was accessible as my mom uses a walker and cannot do stairs! Thankfully it was accessible! This gentleman (a staff) saw my mom and I in line and came and got us to be first in line so he could assist her on the boat. My mom was safely lifted to the second floor as the main floor was not in use for this day tour. He checked on us during the tour as well. Just before the tour was completed, he came and got my mom and I and safely got her back to the main level. Thanks so much for being so considerate! Now onto the actual cruise! It was extremely informative. The narrator had a great voice and spoke with such passion. The boat was clean as were the bathrooms! I have no comment on the food as we did not have lunch on board! My wife and I did a 2 o'clock lunch tour. The boat was very nice and not at all too crowded. Food was also awesome - jambalaya, gumbo, seafood pasta, and other great items. The scenery is okay (typical run down NOLA) but you got to see a few cool things along the way. We also stopped about 50 min out to tour the battlefield and learned a ton along the way from the narrator, Charles. He was definitely the best part of the trip and made it worth 5 stars! More...
