We first tried Bellitalia in 2011, it is by far & wide the Best Italian food in the Midwest & for us in the US! I recommend everything! My favorite is Trapanese & baked spaghetti. Their sause is amazing. Unfortunately my daughter moved 6 hours away so we do not get it as often. She travels back twice a year & I get two dishes, one to freeze & one to eat right away! 11 out of 10 in my book! More...

I hate myself for living a few blocks from this place for a full year without trying it. In my defense, it's totally not a flashy restaurant and it has very little signage. I'm not sure why or how I ended up eating here, but it was one of the best decisions I've made in awhile.I've had a few different things from here, but I will never get something different after discovering the perfect order. See, the regular red sauce and the meat are what make this restaurant worthy of 5 stars. You have to get something with those ingredients or you're not going to have the right experience. For me the perfect order is meat tortellini, baked with a meatball. Then my boyfriend and I split an order of Bosco sticks. Sometimes they forget to put the Parmesan sprinkle on top of the sticks and it weirdly effects it a lot. They're honestly so good it's hard to be mad about it though. I mentioned it once and my next order was melt worthy.The same people are usually working every time I get a pick up. I have yet to dine in, but I'm not sure why. It's a cute little movie like Italian restaurant. I imagine it would be quite nice to eat at. I just always want to watch a movie when I get it, I guess. I digress, the staff is very friendly and seem to care a lot about the food.Cafe La Bellitalia has become my second favorite restaurant in Madison.
