We used Café Runner for the first time yesterday and loved our experience. Our meal was delivered promptly by a friendly delivery person. The food (from Rosa's) was the perfect temperature. We will continue to use Cafe Runner because they are a locally owned business that has been here for 20 years, and the owners live in our community. These new delivery companies that are suddenly flooding the Central Coast—like DoorDash—attach themselves to restaurants without permission. That is bad business and has led to many lawsuits. First let me say cafe runner, it’s people n staff are excellent. There’s more n more delivery co. Out there, but what cafe runner has that other company’s don’t is great customer service. You can email them n they get back to u quick. Uber eats, if you ever ordered from them you know how hard it is to file a complain. The restaurants are different story. Sometimes the restaurant messes your order or forgets to put something in your order but café runners will always make it right. 90% of the time my order is great. Used this service twice. The first time they were a little late but my food was still hot so I didn't think too much of it. ..the whole reason I used the service was because it can take so long to get around SLO and I didn't have time to leave the office. A couple of days later, a postcard arrives in the mail with a discount code because they were late! I am sure impressed that the owners/manager are reviewing orders and so on top of things. I've tried other services that are awful (DoorDash in particular). These guys were the total opposite. Was easy, site had separate options for hotels (which is where I was located), order was timely and complete, finally, the guy delivering it was friendly and seemed cheerful (amazing!).

I live in Las Vegas where food delivery services are a way of life. My first time visiting Pismo Beach, I ordered from cafe runner. I mistakingly ordered 2 of the same entree and submitted. I called them directly and was able to speak to an actual person within minutes and have the issue resolved. This is unheard of from most delivery services. It's not a restaurant it is a delivery service for over 60 different restaurants in SLO County. They do their best of delivering food on time. However they are at the mercy of how busy the restaurant is too get the delivery on stated time.I enjoy using this service as it's convenient when it comes to the trouble of finding parking and using up my gas too go too such establishment. Don't confuse the notion of restaurants that offer delivery is poor in quality. If you look at who is partnered up with Café Runner there are high quality businesses from every price point. My experiences have been positive. The communication is immediate. The delivery, on time. The drivers have all been courteous and attentive addressing issues. Although we did not order a setup, I mentioned it to the driver and she quickly went to the car, got what we needed and resolved it on the spot. I cannot say enough good things about Brian and his team! Not only are they always on time (if not early), the drivers always friendly and the food is always hot, but the customer service is 2nd to none! Tonight I ordered Chinese and one of the items was incorrect. The restaurant however insisted that it WAS correct. Brian contacted them multiple times to get it fixed and even sent a driver there to speak to them in person...and then had the CORRECT item re-delivered to me at no extra charge. Don't want to cook... order from Cafe Runner, everythime!!! I love that they deliver HOT and READY right to my door. There are some restaurants that I will not order from as they NEVER even in person get the order correct. This is not Cafe Runners fault it is the restaurants fault. I would say they are on time 95% of the time. When they are late I ALWAYS get a discount coupon in the mail for my next order! If there is ever a problem with missing food, there is immediately a credit on my account... How can you go wrong with such excellent customer service!!! More...
