I came here for my 37th Birthday dinner with my mother and my step-dad. My step-dad is very skeptical of unusual non-classic Americana foods so-to-say. But I had eaten at the Cafe Orchid on Lincoln/Addison and am ADDICTED to the spicy red sauce - OMG. Cafe Orchid I have been on the Foodnetwork for a Ghost Pepper Taco contest and you're sauce is hot and has a kick, but still very much with flavor. This restaurant, located in Park Ridge offers Turkish cuisine in a friendly, homey atmosphere. My daughter, a vegetarian introduced me to this restaurant during one of her stop- overs from Northern California last year and I've been back numerous times as I just love this food. If you like Greek, or Middle Eastern food this homey little restaurant won't disappoint. If it's your first visit and you love meat try the Uskuda, lamb cubes sauteed wit onions, tomatoes, red and green peppers and garlic, wrapped with sliced eggplant and tomato sauce with your choice of white rice or bulgur. Skip the white rice and go for the bulgar. It's great. For the vegetarians my daughter recommends the Falafel special that includes falafel, hummus, baba Ganesh and a green salad. Me and my friends love to dine at cafe orchid. They have tasty appetizers like the feta cigars, hummos and eggplant musakka. My favorite main dishes include, liver, chicken kabob, turkish raviolli and orchids favorite. You must try the custard for dessert.
