I absolutely LOVE Cafe Monocle. Food is Always excellent, atmosphere is terrific and the owner, Kelsie, ALWAYS is creative with new drinks. Even during early Covid days, they ran food and drink specials and put their customers 1st. My last minute to go orders have ALWAYS been accommodated and I have ordered food for various events and they come through. DELICIOUS!! I have referred many friends, neighbors and clients and they ALL LOVE the food !! Music and open mic nights are terrific too!! A little GEM on Remsen Street in Cohoes. Friendly and stylish too. My experience was opening day and It was noon and I wanted something light and it was suggested the warm pretzel nuggets with the most delicious sauce and a great latte. I have been many times since!

3 of us came for dinner. we ordered 2 dozen wings and a salad. I have never been to a highly recommended restaurant and have to wait over an hour for our food and then we only received half of it the other set of chicken wings cook even longer every time the waitress came over who was very sweet she had a different excuse as to why we had to wait so long for our food. we even asked to talk to the manager and she totally ignored us or was never told that we wanted to talk to her. Sorry Cafe Monaco you do not get my vote and we will not be coming back to your restaurant I hope other people this evening got service a little faster than we did. Ordered Mother’s Day brunch to be delivered to my parents. It never showed up we had to go get it. Then once we got to the house they opened it and it was so burnt they couldn’t even eat the quiche or French toast, very disappointing!

so ontop of inferior food and service Kelsy K is also an u reliable reporter. she refused to return the money. as I stated they offered to make me other food, but again, if your chef is too compromised to remember the cheese for the macaroni and cheese, it really leaves me u inspired to try your other offerings. While its true I did call you a name as I was leaving, it was in response to your remark something about "aholes". that I didnt hear clearly as i was leaving.. I certainly didnt throguh the food down. it was in the bag that it came packaged in and handed to you. you asked why I brought it there and the answer was simple. it's not even good enough for my garbage can. makes no difference. Finally was able to try this place out and I have to admit, I’m pleasantly in pain from having to finish all my food due to the inability to put my fork down. Peach Sriracha Shrimp, Blackened Shrimp & Avocado Bites and a giant Bloody Mary in a sweet bottle. All amazing and totally worth being uncomfortably overfilled right now! We have wanted to try this place for some time as we live two minutes down the road on the island but never made it due to hectic work schedules. We saw their take out specials and ordered the baked shrimp special. The shrimp were so juicy and fresh and a great size. Everything about the meal was perfect. The takeout I got was awesome, everything was hot and fresh. I also got some of the takeout cocktails, not only were they delicious but the little jugs you took them home in were a genius marketing plan. We may have to hunker down during this coronavirus pandemic but people like them are helping to make it a little better.
