Booking C. Tyson Photography was probably the best decision my husband and I made throughout the wedding planning process. For years I have teased my husband about how awkward he is when he gets his picture taken and joked that our future wedding photographer would have their work cut out for them. Well, Chris made it seem easy. From our initial meeting with him, we all hit it off because Chris is so easy to talk to and get along with. During that meeting, our engagement session, and on our wedding day, Chris knew exactly what to do and say to put my husband and I at ease, make us laugh, and get amazing photos throughout the process. He took the time to get to know my husband and I and it was clear that he genuinely wanted us to enjoy our day and have the wedding of our dreams. Chris was more than a photographer for us on our wedding day; he was there with us from the early morning to the very late night, capturing every special moment, and just helping in any way he could. We are so incredibly thankful for him. When we first met him he spent the time to really get to know us and understand our story. C Tyson Photography is amazing! I used Chris for my wedding at Orchard Ridge Farms and it was a great decision. He was so easy and nice to work with--really tries to get a feel for what kind of couple you are and your vision for the wedding! The whole process is easy from payment to setting up meetings and he would ask if there were others ways that he could help out in addition to his job as a photographer, which made me feel really good to know there was an extra person that was around to bend over backwards and help out if something went unexpected! His packages are really easy to choose from and you can add or subtract anything you want depending on your budget. He offers some beautiful albums, keepsake options. It was great to have him there at the pavilion as he knows all of the beautiful spots on the grounds and is very efficient! I highly recommend Christopher! Right from the start he put us at ease during our engagement shoot. Throughout the entire process he reassured us and reminded us that its our day and he is there to support us in anyway, beyond just taking beautiful photographs! We got married at the Pavilion at Orchard Ridge Farms and he advised us on exactly how our day would go and the best places to take photos at the best time. Some of my favorite photos are during the reception when we snuck outside to grab pictures around sunset. Christopher was an incredibly detailed photographer. What I loved most about him was that on game day (my wedding), he helped smooth out all of the details. He did more than just take photos. He made sure that the evening was going great. He made sure things were on time and running on schedule. He answered questions for other people so it didn't have to bother my wife and I. At certain points, he even made sure my wife and I had fresh drinks. This along with his fun attitude kept spirits high and tensions low. He was more than a photographer for us. I cannot say enough great things about C. Tyson! Of course he delivers amazing, unique photos, but that's a given. What's even more amazing is how genuine and dedicated he is to his wedding couples. Throughout the day Chris was our photographer, wedding planner, bodyguard and therapist. When the venue was trying to push us to have the ceremony indoors due to possible rain, he looked up the weather forecast and helped me stick to my gut to stay outdoors. When we were still being pushed to be inside, he helped both my husband and I put our foot down and stay outdoors. I'm not sure our ceremony would have been as gorgeous if he hadn't been there! In the end we had only a light sprinkle throughout our vows and then a rainbow afterwards, which Chris caught on camera, naturally! The little things are some of the most memorable also, like holding my train of my dress up from the mud, as well as my shoes when my feet were hurting. These are things that you would never expect from your photographer.
The communication was always great, and responsiveness was perfect. I felt like throughout the entire process he really took the time to get to know us as a couple. He is one of the best investments that I think one could have on their wedding day! More...

Chris was one of the first vendors we booked in our wedding planning process. Our photographs were very important to us, as it is the one tangible item we would walk away with on our wedding day. We met with several photographers and were fortunate enough to book Chris while he was still available. His incredible talent, outgoing and compassionate personality, and professional interaction quickly made him a favorite vendor. Chris became much more than a photographer to us; we grew to respect and appreciate not only his photography skills and role in our wedding, but also his passionate involvement in the Rockford community. Chris made himself available beyond our engagement shoot and planning sessions. He provided helpful recommendations and honest insight on a variety of other wedding related topics. Chris made it clear that he wanted to make our big day and planning process as stress-free as possible--and he did just that.We first experienced C.Tyson's photography at our engagement shoot. I highly recommend doing an engagement shoot, as we were able to get to know Chris, feel comfortable around the camera, and learn what shots we wanted for the wedding. I gave Chris a few ideas, and he took it from there! He picked an awesome location and made us feel like we'd known him for years! Our pictures turned out just as we imagined, and it was difficult to choose just one for our save the date!C. Tyson photography is incredibly organized and easy to work with. Chris provides clients with login information to access a large variety of resources on his web site. I was able to complete payment, planning, and communication through this portal--making my interaction with Chris very efficient and professional.  Chris was always one step ahead of me in the planning process. He initiated contact in the months leading up the wedding simply to check in. He also provided more specific planning forms to guarantee we would get the pictures we wanted. For example, Chris knew each combination of family pictures we wanted far ahead of time. He also became familiar with our venues (church and reception) in advance so that he had special locations in mind for specific pictures prior to the wedding day.By the time our wedding day rolled around, I had full confidence that Chris would capture the pictures we wanted (and many we didn't even know we would want!). Chris was with us the entire day--from getting ready in the morning to the reception in the evening. He was an absolute pleasure to be around on our big day. We barely noticed him in the background capturing every moment.  He also provided significant support beyond photography on our wedding day. Chris coordinated with our other vendors to ensure everything was running smoothly. He made sure our families and bridal party were where they needed to be at the right time. He coordinated closely with our DJ during the reception. Our families and friends loved working work Chris on our wedding day.We received our wedding pictures in less than a week after our wedding--which blew us away! The fast turnover was nothing compared to the quality and quantity of our beautiful photographs. Chris captured perfectly every last moment of our day. From our bridal party and family to spontaneous reception moments and décor--we will cherish these pictures for a lifetime. C. I am a worrier and I worry about everything. As someone who watches the local news before bed, I've seen probably 500 different segments of "Problem Solvers" (or some variation) about a couple who paid a photographer thousands of dollars only to have them bail last minute, take crappy photos, or disappear forever after taking said photos. So naturally, since wedding photos were my #1 priority, I was basically a lunatic when it came to finding our photographer. A friend of ours is a former wedding planner and she recommend us to Christopher as someone who had helped her out in a pinch. We loved his website, but it all seemed to good to be true. It wasn't! After talking with him I couldn't have felt more at ease. I can't say we didn't put him through the ringer while "interviewing" with him, but I can say how absolutely THRILLED we are with our wedding photos. I jokingly tell everyone that I love my wedding photos more than I could ever love my husband (so far its not true, but only time will tell how that pans out..;) KIDDING).Christopher was awesome to work with. We are inherently awkward and unruly people, but Christoper did a great job of coaching us and capturing "real" photos. There isn't a photo in our collection that looks overly posed or unnatural (we worked out those kinks during our engagement shoot). In the end we received about 1400 edited, digital photos (I can't imagine how many he actually took!), and the count does not even include our engagement session. We had him all day from 9am to 10pm, and our package included a 2nd photographer. I also can't emphasis enough how easy it was to have Christopher around us all day, even in the limo as we cruised before the reception. Our friends were probably even too comfortable around him which explains some unusual groomsmen photos.. My best advice (obviously stolen from Christopher):1. DO the engagement session. We wanted to bail on it, but I can't stress enough how much it helped to practice being in front of camera. I think it made our wedding photos a million times less awkward having been used to the camera being on us.2. Hold your bouquet low as you walk down the aisle. I see so many photos (not done by Chris) where the bride is holding her bouquet by her chest and covering up that dress you just paid hundreds of dollars for. Also smile!! Maybe you are crying, or about to barf, but just smile.. that goofy look is what people call 'true love'.3. Try to think about the photos that you actually WANT. I've been in so many weddings where I have to sit through 4 hours of photos while EVERYONE gets portraits done. Why do you want a picture of just you and your great aunt? Do you need a solo portrait of each bridesmaid? Who frames a solitary photo of themselves? Christopher was more than willing to take whatever photos we asked, but our family photos took 20 minutes tops. The group photos are the ones you are going to frame anyway. Cut the excess and get to your reception.. you should be partying right now! (Also make sure to sneak away for 15 minutes towards the end of your reception.. I mean have you SEEN his website? I met C. Tyson Photography at a bridal show. I was a fellow vendor there to showcase my services. I was new to the business and I think we could tell. He was friendly and introduced himself. We started talking and I went up to his booth to take a look at his work. I was stunned. I loved everything! At that point (way before I was engaged), I knew he was going to be my wedding photographer. Just take a look at his gallery and you will see for yourself the amazing work he does. He captures the moment and you feel the emotion with it. My wedding was on New Years Eve and from day one he never made me feel like I was taking him away from his holiday. He was totally committed and it shows in his work. He is very easy to work with. We did our engagement photos with him as well and after he finished them he asked for feedback so that he could have a good sense of what we were looking for in our photos and so that he could ensure we get that. I liked that he was open to taking serious and fun pictures. He really understands you as a couple and plays off of that. He also had a great turnaround time as we received our photos much faster than others in the industry. Once again, he was open to hearing feedback and asked if there were any changes to the photos that needed to be done. We were so happy with them! I shared them with my closest friends and family first and received compliments of "breathtaking", "I knew your photographer was amazing", "gorgeous", and many other lovely words. Chris and his assistant captured our day beautifully. I cannot thank them enough for getting all the excitement, emotion, fun, beauty, love, and joy in our photos. His work will be forever loved. Chris was by far the best choice for us as a photographer. From the very start, he was extremely helpful and quick to respond whenever we had a question. Not only is his work amazing, but he made sure to make us feel really special and cared about. LOOK NO FURTHER, THIS IS THE PHOTOGRAPHER YOU WANT!! The photos speak for themselves, but with Chris you get much more than just amazing photos. Throughout the planning process, I lovingly called him my co-planner. I still think he should start a side business as wedding planner, but he disagrees. I don't think we made any big decisions without getting his input first. Thanks to him we picked a kickass production company/DJ, the food was awesome, and we have one of the best wedding videos you'll ever see. He even gave me a template for the "day of timeline" (yes, you will definitely need one of those if you want the day to run smoothly) and helped me go through, literally, minute by minute from beginning to end.
He has a way of tricking you into feeling really comfortable around him and then he just starts shooting and the result is magic. I remember looking at our engagement pictures for the first time and thinking, "who are these models Is this really us ". I can't forget to mention, he let us include our two hairy children (our two labs) in our photos as well. He captures moments that have feeling and meaning. When I look at my wedding photos, they don't look staged or uncomfortable. When I look at my photos, my heart swells because I'm instantly brought back to a special moment that any ordinary photographer may have missed, but Chris knew it was something to capture.
Overall, choosing Chris Tyson was the first and best decision we made while planning our wedding. As for as the nitty gritty, he is prices are very reasonable, considering what you get in return is priceless, he is very professional and knows the ins & outs of the Rockford wedding scene, we had our wedding photos 1 week after the wedding, and the photos are something we'll cherish forever! Chris is more than a photographer, he has become a friend to both me and my husband. Words cannot due justice to the ride we have had with Chris over the past 9 months. In middle of planning our wedding, I(the bride) got extremely sick and was in the ICU for a week and on treatments through a port and unable to walk for a few months, he found out about this and went out of his way to call my Fiancé and ask what he could do for us, and not only one time he was checking in with us regularly. He has gotten to know us as a couple and has learned our story so on our wedding day he was able to capture everything that was important to us. From the breath taking pictures of our ceremony, to the sweet moments of getting ready with my girls, and the candid moments of the groomsmen, to the most touching sentimental pictures of all the details. The day of the wedding my body was exhausted and I was having a hard time getting around and Chris went out of his way to help my now husband with me and still give us EVERY beautiful shot we wanted, even though I was limited. He is amazing and we have had countless people tell us from our bridal party and family, that he was the best they have ever seen and we agree. Wow! We can not say enough wonderful things about working with Chris! His work speaks for itself (it's amazing). Even more importantly, his personality just makes it a blast to meet with him! We actually looked forward to our engagement pictures and meetings with Chris because we would all be laughing and having a great time!
