This! This is where you go for meat!!! They have everything and it's well packaged and high quality. Their specialty sausages are unique and add some variety to our summer meals. We've tried the chili cheese, philly cheesesteak, and pizza varieties... I'd have a hard time picking a favorite. The have a fresh meat display for those who need to cook tonight, but the vast majority is freezer packed. Their single-serving packaging is super convenient and vacuum sealed, so no need to "repackage" at home. They also carry local specialty items: frozen pies & crisps from Crane's, Charlie's chips, Michigan-made condiments (Esch, Founders, etc.), and so much more. Sign up for their email list or follow them on Facebook for monthly deals as well as pretty great special sales. Side note: their "culotte" steaks are lean, but still very tender. Try their garlic butter or Kentucky bourbon pre-seasoned culotte steaks for a ready-to-grill option! More...

Byron Center Meats is my favorite go-to for special occasions, barbecues, and all around meat needs. Once a year I get a 1/8th Beef Grassfed bundle and that keeps my freezer, my family, and my belly very happy. Their Culotte steak is the best steak that I have ever cooked, and I consider myself a bit of a beef connoisseur. (Yes I had to look up how to spell that word, don't judge me.) Their sausages are also amazing.Their staff is very helpful, and their prices are excellent. I have not had a bad experience with them, and I don't expect that to change. I drive across town to get my meats there and it is so worth it. More...

I had come to Byron Center Meats looking for.. well, meat! And while that is indeed what they sell, it isn't a place to really go if you need some nice fresh chicken breasts for dinner in an hour when you get home - its more of the Sam's Club of meat shops, not a neighborhood butcher shop. That being said, what it does it does well. If you want a half of a cow - you can get it here. If you want some fresh beef - they may have it in quantity ready for you to go all vacuum packed and/or boxed up.It is kinda confusing though that their sign on 84th street is a block south and west of the actual entrance - but I think that is where they used to be and they want to keep the old-style sign up for ambiance. My wife and I purchase a 1/4 cow and usually 1/2 a pig. The animals are purchased through the Marne/Berlin Fair and then transported to BC Meats. They do a fantastic and professional job with the cuts. The hamburger are stored in 1 lb packages and everything else is vacuum sealed and put in deep freeze. We end up with meat for almost the entire year for a family of two adults and two small children, this of course depends on the size of the animals. We have had great experiences and they have been patient to the highest level of professionalism. The process from beginning to end results in locally farmed meat that is convenient during the busiest part of our year. There is nothing better than not having a dinner plan and having a plethora of choice! More...

Byron Center Meats did a great job cutting the meat. The communication and explanation of the cuts and use was very important. The Beef is ready to be eaten. Thank you for a job well done. We will definitely buy again. More...

I really like the help at this business. Very friendly and all around good staff which looks to help you when you come in. I recently found they were doing dry aged beef which is something I had interest in so I decided to call to inquire about it. They gave me an option to try this aged beef and I put in an order for 4 ribeye steaks. I also bought 4 non dry aged as I wanted to compare them side by side. Without question the standard out of the case steaks were preferred over the dry aged. I know this is new to them and I reported back to their email my experience with the dry aged product which for me was less then desirable. At 14.00 per pound I thought they should have been much better. I plan to try Montellos in Holland to compare what I had at Byron as I know they also provide dry aged beef. Stand by for that review. All other products at Byron Meats are very good I have never been disappointed until the dry aged product hit my plate hence the 4 stars. More...

Purchased a 1/4 side of beef from the Pekel farm on 4/22/2011. Not only was the beef wonderful, the processing of the beef is wonderful. Byron Meat Center had us in and out in just a few minutes. Each cut is air tight sealed. Love how the ground beef is packaged in rolls. A++++ service from the purchasing of the beef to the pick-up. Can't wait to do business again. Well worth the three hour drive and $4.20 a gallon gas. More...

I am a big fan of Byron Center Meats. I have bought several lambs and cows and I ALWAYS have them processed here. The staff in knowledgeable and professional. The meat comes vacuum packed and labeled. I've never had one package leak after it has thawed out. The staff will even load your car for you. Not only do they do meat processing they have a retail store where they sell meat too. It is all from local farmers and not some giant factory somewhere. They cut all the meat on site so you know you have quality. Also the place is very clean. I'm a neat freak when it comes to food and they pass my test. They often have good sales too. This is a great place to get a couple steaks for the evenings dinner or a large supply for a party. More...

Byron Center Meats has by far the nicest staff I've experienced. We arrived there late (near closing time) and they were very kind and helpful, not trying to rush us out by closing time. The Delmonico steaks are delicious! As is their jerky selection, pork, bacon, and ground beef. I have yet to try their other products, but I will surely be back. Byron Center meats is the best meat market I have ever been to. More...
