I don't come here enough. I know that because every time I visit I'm impressed all over again by the truly pleasant host/servers, the inventive and delicious dishes, and the classy but not ostentatious decor. If there is an Ode To Sangria, it was written about Butter's consistently delicious Red Sangria. If there isn't one, I really should write it. So, whether I'm picking up a few cupcakes or lunching on shrimp tacos on Taco Tuesday, Butter is regularly on point. Seriously. Sunday, I was there to listen to the Oscar Rivers Trio and I got a doggie bag for the mussels--just the broth. Just. The. Broth. Around midnight, I slurped it up with the end of a Normandy Farms baguette. If you're not following Butter on Facebook for the next event, you're asleep at the wheel, friend. More...

Today is my first time here; I heard about it from a friend. The staff is friendly. Love the mood music and the overall design of the place. Too bad I didnt bring an appetite with me, but the little that I did eat was fantastic. I ordered some sweet potato grits, which were tasty! And some brussel sprouts that were top notch. The second they hi the table in front of me, 2 friends said, "Mannnnn, let me try one!!!" The brussel sprouts had a slightly sweet taste, with just enough of that char'd flavor. My 2 friends ordered their own plate. And I assure you, I got my sprouts back. Lol.I hope to explore more of the menu some day; especially the cupcakes!! More...

The food was slightly higher priced for a tapas resturant, but it was delicious. The service was quick and attentive. It has a great atmosphere. The white wine sangria was good.

Pre-show (at the PAC) dinner. Went on recommendations from a friend. Made reservations. Unfortunately, they were out of cupcakes - which they post on the door, but I think they should maybe save some for dinner guests or offer another dessert option. We were seated in the store front area instead of the dining area in the back. So, for the style and price of food - it would've been better to be seated in the main dining area without sight to the Panera Bread and other shops parking and traffic. I think for just enjoying and cup of coffee and a cupcake, the front seating would suffice. Food - was really good. Cocktail and wine list very nice, but very limited beer choices. I know moving into dinner service is a newer option at Butter, I believe there is huge potential, though and look forward to seeing the business grow! More...

In town for a business conference at the North Charleston Convention Center, I came across Butter Tapas through a search on Open Table of places in that area. Not sure what to expect I walked in to an open, charming, and airy front of the restaurant where some of the seating and the bakery offerings were located. I sat in the back room of the restaurant with woodsy swag draped across the ceiling, matching the natural rustic design of the tables and chairs, with flowers and candles set across the table top. As it was a few days before Hurricane Irma was expected to come through the area, I was the only person in the back of the restaurant, though there were others in the front eating at that time. Not much of a seafood person, I ordered the Truffle Lobster mac-N-Cheese to be adventurous with the comfort of knowing I could at least eat the pasta if I didn't like it. But I was pleasantly surprised - it was delicious! The truffle sauce and spices used in this dish gave the lobster a little kick, that was perfectly balanced with the creaminess of the cheese sauce mixed in with the pasta. Though not an overly large portion size, that is not necessary when the quality of the food was that good. Also, they had not baked a lot of cupcakes in case they had to evacuate quickly for the coming hurricane, but the one kind they did have was splendid. The Hummingbird Cake Cupcake had a light and fluffy whipped frosting overtop a moist cupcake packed with plenty of flavor. A sweet end to the pleasant meal I had at Butter Tapas. And I can't forget to mention that the server was attentive without hovering, and very friendly and courteous throughout my experience. While the price reflects quality of the ingredients, I highly recommend Butter Tapas after this visit! More...

So far I've attended every pop up brunch they've hosted and I've never been disappointed. The food is reasonably priced and extremely flavorful. Not only that, but it's presented beautifully. The service was wonderful and the owner, April, even comes out frequently to make sure her guest are enjoying themselves. This combination of attentiveness, an inviting atmosphere and decor, and delicious food is more than enough to keep me coming back. Highly recommend you try it! More...

My wife and I were in the mood for some lighter fare so we stopped by Butter Tapas for our Friday date night. The server was extremely friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Their cheese plate was large enough to split and featured a wide assortment of high quality cheeses and garnishes (fresh fruit, bread, honeycomb). It was beautifully-presented and probably the best cheese plate I had ever tasted. Our dinner also included a delicious salad and a gourmet cupcake for dessert. We had a lovely dining experience and will definitely return in the future for another date night. More...

The ambiance of her restaurant is clean and perfect. Very elegant. You are visually stimulated as soon as you walk in the door. We had a friend with us who has special diet needs and Chef April created the perfect dish for her and it was heaven on a plate. Can't wait to go back. a LowCountry Diamond Eatery. More...

I enjoyed Butter cupcakes before Chef April transformed Butter into Butter Tapas. I visited a few times to enjoy a healthier option for lunch. The pear salad is always wonderful. The apple pear vinaigrette dressing is so fresh and light. Great flavor. As a vegetarian, my selections are a bit more limited, but I look forward to another visit. More...
