Drove out to Deer Park to check out one of its newest establishments. Located at the old cattlehands location. The lunch line was long but as I tell people if you want the best BBQ you must go when the doors open to get everything fresh off the pit. The service was kind of slow and many customers left the line after waiting more than 20 mins to order. This is just the hiccups of a new location especially if your not use to the volume that you will have coming in and I believe they will make improvements to make changes. I finally made it to the order and I went for the 3 meat plate Brisket, Ribs, and Pork my sides being mac and cheese and green beans. I must say everything was worth the wait for me mostly because it was my day off and wasn't rushing to get back to work as most people were. The brisket was great bark was prefect and fat rendered just right even though I was given the flat I was quite surprised how moist it was. The pulled pork was some of the best I've had it had flavor and was not dried, I added a little of the house sauce and it made it pop just a little more. Now the ribs were on point I would definitely put them in a competition box and the sauce they glazed the with was perfect and the bite is just where they need to be. I was also surprised with the sides they were so good the mac and cheese was perfect and the green beans were not overcooked. I finished with cupcake of the day a reeses peanut butter cupcake and I must say it was extremely delicious.. Over all I highly recommend this place pending that they work on their food services but I'm sure they will because it will be ashamed to be turning away good customers when the BBQ is so good.. Today was the grand opening so we gave it a shot. it was a little slow but I'm sure that will improve with familiarity with the process. I had a sliced beef sandwich combo., my husband the 2 meat plate. the brisket was moist and tender, hubby said the sausage and beans were also good. He commented that the potato salad could use a little work but it was okay. The staff was friendly and they were hustling. We loved the family atmosphere and how the owner, Kevin, introduced himself and asked us how we enjoyed the food. He made it a very personal experience. The food was simply incredible. Today was their grand opening and even with the big crowed they still got the food out quick, not to mention it was delicious. Prices are amazing the owner was even able to make it around and check on us.
