This restaurant was very kind enough to sponsor our film. Most my crew and talent really enjoyes the food. I must say, there food was very exquisite. I would recommend their Pasta, Meat Sauce, Meatball and Italian Sausagae with melted Mozarrela.The owner Emma was very nice and generous. We were a group of 6 adults for dinner last night, I surprised my boyfriend for his bday, asking 2 couples to arrive before us . I picked Buon Gusto bc it was in a location where my guests didn't have to travel too far from the Newhall/Canyon Country areas, we came from the NoHo area.The restaurant is in the corner of a strip center next to a dry cleaner, etc, there's a big enough parking lot, easy to find...Our waiter was very pleasant, greeted us, nice menu, told us the specials....but kind of disappeared until I flagged him down to take our order.....The dinners come w/a house salad, mine wasn't great, the tomatoes & American cucumbers were poor quality, lettuce was soggy, tasty Italian dressing &my portion was very small, my bf's was a heartier portion, guests had a Greek w/chicken they shared which looked good. The breads good, we ordered eggplant parm, veal scallopini, baked shells, pasta w/shrimp & chicken parm, all delish!!!! They play really nice Spanish guitar music, everyone really enjoyed their food, sharing bites, they brought out a really nice bday dessert, sang happy bday, we ordered a few desserts, they were out of several selections, but what we chose was tasty...We all had a great experience, we all proclaimed "let's come back again next month!!" We recently moved to Granada Hills and have been finding our favorite new spots to eat. We were craving Italian and chose Buon Gusto because we had been here for a few events. Happy to report we had a great Friday night dinner! Food, service and ambiance were on point. Our waiter, Juan, recommended a delicious cabernet. I ordered the chicken parm. Our favorite italian restaurant! Thankfully it's just down the street for us. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Really accomodating for special occassions and always pleasant and kind staff. Not very big, so check ahead for availability, but great for intimate get togethers.(Oh and for those complaining about a "hidden" surchage for using a credit card. Don't be stupid! That is what they are charged to process your card. It certainly does not go in their pockets! Just wow. Personally I'd rather this cost be buried in the food prices but whatever. Every place that processes credit cards has to pay this fee. This place is lovely. If you are on the fence. Give them a chance. Bring cash or debit card if you don't want to pay the cc fee. Wow where to start with this place! Such a great hidden Italian gem in the valley I'm really sad i discovered this place so late. Me and my sister were having a pasta craving and wanted to try this place instead of typical chain restaurant we've had in the past. Emma our waitress was nothing less than inviting, kind, and made our first time experience very memorable. What we had for dinner was their special which is a good deal for a dinner for two our meal consisted of a plate of 4 bruschetta, 2 chicken parmigiana, and shrimp with Alfredo all for just $37?! I had dinner for the first time with some co workers here. We came to celebrate my co worker's birthday and she was craving Italian food. The food was really good! I had the eggplant with pasta. My Girlfriend and I went here for our 6 month anniversary. The food here is amazing with really good portions. The staff are also very hospitable. Juan was a great host who was very nice and very helpful. My girlfriend ordered a calzone and it was bigger than any other calzone I had ever seen. It was delicious too. The restaurant has a nice ambience too. The deserts all looked delicious but we settled on an Exotic Bomba and Crem Brûlée. Both were amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant! So I was a little skeptical about coming here and receiving quality Italian food, but from the moment we got the bread, we knew it was all uphill from here! Local business for over 30 years, but new to me! Discovered it after finding Two Guys from Italy was permanently closed. Clean, plenty of seating, friendly staff, delicious traditional Italian made from scratch. I took a moment to watch the plates come out to surrounding tables and, boy, it all looked so good. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo ($15.95), not additional meat or shrimp, and it was very good. A little more buttery than it should be, but still nice. A traditional Alfredo should not be swimming in a buttery cream sauce, but rather should be a bit more on the dry Romano side. We've had the original in Italy, and also Stateside from one of the chefs who migrated to America w/the original recipe. No one has compared, but this was almost close, just more butter than necessary. Hubby ordered the 1/2 and 1/2 (spaghetti and raviolis w/meat sauce $14.95) and it was a LOT of food. Cheese inside raviolis was creamy and fluffy and light. So good. Thick "gravy" as my Italian Nona would say. Fresh, chunky tomatoes, beefy body, and perfectly seasoned. So good we got a quart to take home! We were very happy to discover this great little gem and plan on returning. I will definitely be trying the lasagna next! More...

Good food, service was little slow (Friday at 4:00) but very friendly.  Comfortable setting. Nice oldies music in the background (1950's-1960's crooner style. ..think Dean Martin, Sinatra and others). Parking lot is tight but there is parking on the side street too. The BREAD IS REALLY GOOD!  Tried the margarita pizza which was also good. Two of us shared a large for $20.  Toppings available for extra charge of $2.50 for large pizzas. Will try the meatball or chicken toppings next time. Large menu with wide selection of full and half size options. Full bar too. Had an early dinner, 4:00 on a Friday night. Last night, my dad, sister and I were having a difficult time deciding where to have dinner. My sister wanted sushi, dad wanted pizza and I was just wanted something. quick and delicious. After reading the positive reviews, we agreed to check out Buon Gusto. They had eaten there many years ago and had good memories . We called the restaurant and they said they could seat us immediately.Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and given water and warm heart-shaped rolls. We're off to a great start! They have an incredible $20 three course meal that includes a salad, pasta, a beverage and dessert. We all opted for the penne with sausage and mozzarella cheese....it was fantastic!! (I'm enjoying the leftovers as I write this review.) The service was top notch, everyone from the host to the servers made sure we were happy with everything. Over the past 20 years, Buon Gusto Restorante, Mission Hills, CA, has become our family's favorite and a tradition. First time at Buon Gusto and I have to say I'm so impressed! I definitely recommend the bruschetta, super light but sooooo good. My boyfriend and I ordered the pasta combo, which ended up being a super hearty serving. The waiters Saul and Juan were so nice and welcoming; both were beyond attentive and made sure every one of our needs were met immediately. The house Chianti (red wine) was delicious, we ordered a bottle for ourselves and  it paired amazingly well with our meal. Juan told us about the creme brûlée, and me being a huge dessert fan, I obliged. I am so glad I did! It was delicious, not too sweet but just the right serving. This place is a hidden gem of SFV. If you're looking for an intimate setting to enjoy a nice dinner that won't break the bank, I definitely recommend Buon Gusto. Like I said, my first time, but definitely not my last. More...

What a great little Italian restaurant. We came here for Valentines Day and it was so good! They had a chef specialty section but no preset valentines menu which was nice. The bread they give you to start the dinner was shaped into hearts (cute touch). The wines they offered were very inexpensive, but tasted good. The waiters/ waitresses were all super friendly and accommodating. It was a great meal and would have gotten five stars if I was served what I ordered. I wanted the veal parm but got chicken served instead. Other than that I highly recommend giving this place a shot. I want to try coming when it isn't a holiday and order other things off the menu. I just attended a Valentine luncheon at Buon Gusto.  The food was amazing.  There were approximately 45 women in attendance.  The food was served hot, and the entire room was quickly served.  The wait staff managed to extend very personable and individualized service to everyone.  They thoroughly pampered all the ladies.  There were several entrees from which to choose:  Lasagna and Chicken Scalloppini and sole being the ones which stuck out in my mind.  The portions were generous; and judging from the ummms and yumms that I heard everyone thorougly enjoyed their meal. The good news about this restaurant is that it quietly has emerged to be arguably the finest, what I mean is the best Italian food in the city.  The bad news is, I'm a jerk for not writing this review sooner.  Like many of the best in any endeavor, it's of course the people working there that make the difference.  This is one great team.  There really are no words to describe it.  But here is my guarantee; You will realize, in short order, upon arriving, that you are not in Kansas any longer.  I wasn't even sure who our server was.  They rotate and cover for each other, each one delicate, discreet, charming, and there to facilitate the process.  It is painful to leave such a warm and inviting establishment.  The food is just perfect.  Of course, its infused with care and passion.  The restaurant suffered a fire several years ago and we thought they were gone, but they came back, and it's because of the character of the owners, whom I dont know.  It's the place for lovers, friends, or business associates.  I predict that getting a table at Buen Gusto is going to become a big problem in the future.  They are that good!I highly recommend, with every fiber of my being!
