Love the event space. I did not eat at the restraunt, but I did attend a show. Although the Mansion is huge, the show room I attended was intimate. It seems to have potential to open up to become a larger space. The details of the Bull Mansion were intricate and very authentic. The house has been kept up very well. The bathrooms are pretty and clean. Fancy! If you enjoy old architecture, you will enjoy this space. More...

Really cool event space! This place has 4 floors of fun. My boyfriend and I have been here 3 times for different themed haunted speakeasys. It is always a blast. They really know how to host an event. They have a full restaurant on the first floor, a bar and restaurant in the basement, as well as a full bar and dance floor upstairs. Pretty much any event could be hosted here with the variety of space available. Plus they have a parking lot out back to make it easier for guests to get there. More...

Found this place by accident stumbling around Worcester before a show. What a great find. The food was pricey but it was definitely worth it. Probably the best roasted asparagus that I have ever had. A little shallow on the beer offerings in my opinion. Had a couple of mixed drinks which were good but again... pricey. Moscow Mules were delicious and well made with plenty of liquor.Food was creative but expensive for quantity, total quality, and presentation. Not ridiculously expensive but $20 for a $15-$17 plate. Plate was wild hen of the woods mushrooms and pasta, generally delicious. There were only handful of customers when I went. Restaurant was very quiet which allowed conversation. Staff was super responsive and food came out quickly. Staff appeared to be all owners or persons with vested interest in the restaurant. My family and I had a 4:30 reservation before a 6 PM show at the Hanover Theatre. Due to traffic, (we were traveling from North of Boston) we didn't arrive until 5:30. With 2 little girls, there is no way we would still have time to eat without missing the show. However, the staff at Bull Mansion could not have been more accommodating!!  They let us order over the phone, including helping us invent meals for our little girls, and had it all ready when we arrived. I really enjoyed my Bull Mansion experience. My fiancee and I dined on a Saturday evening and couldn't be happier. Especially with Worcester's current restaurant scene, I find Bull Mansion to hit all the current foodie trends. Bull Mansion as a building is amazing. It has it's historical value with it being 140 years old. I love that it gives another option to dine downtown. I read in another review that parking is confusion, and while I agree, we did not have any trouble finding an open parking meter right in front. When we arrived, the dining area was quiet but a few other parties were seated. I'm the nosy type and tried to catch glimpses of other tables plates, and I will say everything looked tasty. I had scouted the menu before we arrived and knew what I already wanted. We started with The Cuban flatbread as an appetizer and I found it satisfying. The pork was cooked perfectly, and the mustard and the pickle added a nice acidic bite to the dish. We our dinners, my fiancee enjoyed the Salmon entree, which she raved about, while I devoured the Bouillabaisse (a dish I've been wanting to try since I saw it on a Food Network show with a host with stupid hair and bad facial hair). Before arriving for dinner, we discussed skipping dessert at Bull Mansion and get some Yoway frozen yogurt after, but when we heard carrot cake as an option, we couldn't pass on it! I love carrot cake, except I usually find the frosting to be overly sweet on most carrot cakes I am encountered, but not Bull Mansions. I don't know if the desserts are made in house here, but it was delicious and not overly sweet. Our server ruled. I forget her name, but she very knowledgeable of the menu. And checked on use frequently. She even convinced the bartender to make me a Arnold Palmer. Soooo that ruled! I'm itching to give Bull Mansion another go but really want to try out their brunch soon! Great find and another great restaurant in Worcester!Wife and I went last night after she got a recommendation from a friend. We had a great meal. I always like to feel the kitchen team is paying attention to the details, and our meals were pretty much flawless.Green salad was fresh and probably sourced from local greens. No Subway tomatoes, in fact no tomatoes - they aren't in season here. My wife got a flat bread she very much enjoyed, and I got a ribeye ($28) filet. After our order was in for five minutes, one of the staff came out and said there were actually 3 different styles of filet I could have. I chose the "tomahawk", basically the filet still attached to the rib. Also asked for it to be cooked medium-rare, and unlike so many other restaurants which tend to overcook, this was cooked medium-rare. We tend to eat at the bar, which we did last night. Only "complaint" is it was echoey-loud, but perhaps that's just me.We'll be back... More...

Visited the Bull Mansion on a Friday night around 7 pm. Found two seats at the bar and ordered the mussels in coconut Thai broth and the Mediterranean cheese board. Both apps were delicious and very reasonably priced, considering the ambience. We were treated to a lovely couple performing in the bar area. The gentleman played the guitar and the lovely lady sang great rock and pop songs. Their performance was spot on for the space, not too load as to prohibit conversation. The bartender kept us laughing all night, while he mixed up some of the better drinks we have tasted. Though a bit pricey, again you are getting phenomenal ambience. I have yet to speak on the pure awesomeness of the building itself. The curb appeal of the building was impressive, but we fell in love with the Bull Mansion a soon as we walked through the doors. The repurposing on this grand old gothic style building just blew us away. For those looking for more adventure, they also offered bands on the second floor. Wonderful Ambiance, Excellent Food - Slow ServiceThis was the first time we dined at the Bull Mansion, built in 1876, a beautiful restaurant, with a wonderful old world bar. It's convenient to both Mechanics Hall and The Hanover Theater. Our party of 5 selected it because we were attending a Saturday night, 8 pm concert at Mechanics Hall. We arrived at 6 pm (reservation) and were seated within 5 minutes. There were insufficient menus for our table, an omen of things to come. Service was problematic throughout our visit, we were finally served dinner around 7:10 pm. We spoke with the manager, who was very professional and did attempt to assist, offering to bring salads in the interim. But by that time it was almost 7 pm and our meal was imminent. Our Moroccan Lamb Tagine (lamb shank), and Chicken and Waffles were excellent. We will return, having enjoyed both the venue and food. Supposedly, there have been more than 50 restaurants opened in Worcester in the last two years.  I've been to a few of them, and most of them have been nice additions to the city, but tend to fall short in one aspect or another. I visited The Bull Mansion for the first time two nights ago.  WOW, I MAY BE IN LOVE.What a gem!  A real gem.  Inside this beautiful building, perched on a steep hill leading into Downtown Worceser, is this bistro.  As we approached to the entrance, we were greeted by an employee outside, smoking in the front.  I was a little skeptical at that point.  I have no issue with smokers, but you shouldn't do it in the front of your restaurant. But after that, it was smooth sailing and quite awesome. We were brought to our seat by the host, and he was kind to ask us if we wanted to sit close to the live musician.  We wanted to hear the music, but not be right in front of him.  We were accommodated with no fuss at all.A few minutes after being seated and getting some waters, the server asked us what beverages we would like. We both order a Blood Orange Old Fashion.  Although they were out of blood orange, the server (who doubled at the bartender) offered to make us a Mango Old Fashion, which we accepted.  After that, we put in our food orders - he got their burger, while I got a BBQ Asian Flatbread. The drink was spot on.  Nearly a perfect blend of alcohol and flavor, which was smooth.  My flatbread came out on an actual flatbread, with a good portion of meat, BBQ, peppers, and other seasonings.  It was full of flavor and perfect size.  His burger and fries came out ... HUGE.  The burger was enormous!  The fries were hot and crisp.  I had a piece of his burger, and it was full of flavor.  He had to eat it with a fork and knife because of its size, but it was well worth it.The server - I forget her name - introduced herself, saying it was her pleasure to serve us.  She was very nice and it was a nice touch. The decor is beautiful.  My only complaint is the tables feel close together; its like eating in giant, beautifully restored, Worcester three decker.  But I don't mean that disparagingly.  However, if there were no music, I think my voice would carry, or the place would be awkwardly quiet.  But its also a big space, so there would be room to spread out, unless of course it is filled. They have a lunch, dinner, and late night menu.Based on what I have read, there are often events going on - dances, parties, comedy shows - in the Bull Mansion.  The lack of a parking lot may be a problem; we found street parking, but on a busier night, you may have to park on Main Street or in the garage nearby, and people may not want to pay to park.  But again, if you do those things, it will be worth it when you walk through this place.I'm already excited for my next visit there, and I will make sure to introduce another friend or two to the place.  This is my favorite new place in Worcester in years.  Nicely done. We made a reservation for 6 people on a Saturday night. The hostess seated us right away but there was a glass of water on our table probably from the previous diners. We waited about 15-20 minutes before anyone said hi to us. Come to find out, the hostess never told the waitress that she had our table. Not a good start. We started off with the charcuterie appetizer and had the 55 flatbread. I LOVE the flatbread. It was so delicious, I could've eaten it as an entree. But I had order the salmon entree as my meal. The salmon was kinda small but everything was delicious. The sweet potato purée compliments the salmon very well. I don't usually like collared greens but like I said, I cleared my plate. The only odd thing on the plate was the spaetzle. It just seemed out of place but again, still good. The food took awhile to come out but they seemed a little backed up. I would like to mention that our waitress was absolutely terrific. I know it wasn't her fault that we didn't get greeted right away and her personality definitely made up for it. She took care of us very well. So kudos to her. Anyway, def would come back here again and would love to order that flatbread again for a nice lunch or something. Bull mansion just needs to improve on their slow kitchen service and perhaps train their hostess a bit more. Otherwise I'll give 5 stars for the waitress we had. 4 stars for the food. 2 stars for the slow service and hostess. Service: 5 starsOur waiter was extremely sweet, always refilled our waters, and asked us if we needed more. She didn't even try to upsell us when we clearly would have ordered too much food. We were so full at the end of our meal. Food: 3.5 starsI felt like all our meals were almost there but consistently missing something, salt. My chicken and waffles were tasty but had a little too much pumpkin sauce on them, though that helped with chicken being a little under salted. The prosciutto/goat cheese flat bread had some natural salt to it, so I won't complain about that. Our pork shank, while tender, required us to add salt, it tasted completely unsalted. The red cabbage that was on the side of it was great, though. Finally, I rarely leave without dessert, so we had the chocolate & white chocolate bread pudding. It seemed they had to re-heat it in the oven for us. The outside was too crispy for our taste at first (used to the soft bread puddings). As we ate it we enjoyed it more and more, cleaned our entire plate and didn't even mind the crispier parts as the inside was nice and soft.Atmosphere: 4 starsLove the authentic old building. I also really love that they have so many community building events, like jazz nights, murder mystery nights, etc - this is what I want and didn't have in Worcester until now. I hope the food improves (literally, just add salt - other flavors were on point), I may not be back for the average night, but will definitely come back during an event of some sort to give it another go. So I've been wanting to go here for a while, since I worked at Clark Dining Services for a long time, and the owners are Clarkies.  And I don't know why, but I like to try to support that.Bull Mansion is a beautiful building, however, it is in a tougher location for a restaurant.  Although it is downtown, it still off the main strip and kind of tucked away.  A lot of younger Worcester residents don't even know where it is due to lack of proper use over the years.Anyway, I made reservations for a Thursday night at 6, so we could make it to Hanover Theater for an 8pm show.  The hostess seated us immediately.  It was pretty empty, which was a little surprising.  The beer selection is limited, but unique.  No major beers here.  Just about a dozen or so microbrews, including Baxter (a Maine brewery started by another Clarkie), which I ordered.  My wife got the trappist bottle. The waitress took our drink orders and they arrived promptly.  We put in our food orders.  We each ordered the rabbit stew as the soup of the moment, and I ordered the chicken and waffles, while my wife ordered a special, scallops with a curry sauce over some sort of pasta.  The rabbit stew was not dissimilar to a loaded chicken noodle, minus the noodles.  Loaded with meat with classic veggies, it was quite good and pretty filling.  However I feel it could have used some bread with it, like a hard crusted roll or slice of something rustic.  My wife thought her dish was OK, but the curry flavor was weak and scallops were tasty, but not the best she's ever had.  My chicken and waffle was delicious.  Packed with autumn flavors as it is a pumpkin waffle and sauce, and the chicken was fried perfectly.  Crispy and still juicy.  I managed to eat the whole thing but was stuffed afterward.  My wife finished her scallops, but left most of the pasta.  We listened to the dessert specials from our waitress, who waited on us with classic "I'm going to help you with your meal, but I'm not going to be overbearing and you may not even notice me", which is good, because our beers got refilled and food came out timely.  I only recommend to her that she is a little more assertive with her voice, as it seemed she was a little reserved, especially reading the dinner and dessert specials.  Back to the desserts, It was here to pass up the bread pudding, but I was just too full. The total came to just over $80, for 4 beers, two stews and two entrees. I'd like to go back to check out the flatbreads, and the chicken poutine in the late night menu seems delicious.  There is also a lot of live entertainment to check out. More...
