Saved by the sauce! Ordered the pulled flank steak sandwich for the main entree. It was tasty but a bit dry. The chimichurri on the side saved it. I would have given less stars had it not been for the waiter who was very friendly, the dessert and the empanada. The Argentinian mixed meat platter we got was decent. The ribs were so chewy none of us could even chew it and the meat was raw. The blood sausage was pretty gooey and gross- not at all what we expected. Let me preface this review by saying only 3 stars because I found a hair in my food. Yikes. I understand it happens but still a turn off for me. On the plus side- super cute patio with a lot of space. While this is nestled in the River Market entertainment district, the patio is downstairs (aka not on the Main Street). The inside looked pretty spacious as well. Small bar though (if that's your preference). Greeted instantly with smiles after walking in and sat right away. Service was awesome. Ashlynn is a true gem- very attentive and made sure we had a good time. I appreciated her concern when finding the hair. Get the sangriaVery refreshing for a hot day and better than your average restaurant sangria. While we didn't eat entrees we got the sweet corn empanada (where the hair was found). Very nice experience here! The inside is underwhelming but we sat outside where it is super cute! Lights strung above. Though there was no live music when we went they had a stage for it. Prices are very reasonable. I had three empanadas and they have lots of diff fillings you can mix and match. Had a pineapple mojito and it was a perfect balance, very fresh and not too sweet. Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday while on vacation in the Little Rock area. The food was AMAZING! Both of us enjoyed our lunches. The empanadas were fantastic, as was the skirt steak. Even the little side salad I ordered was perfect, fresh and delicious. The dessert didn't disappoint either. The Two tasty panqueques con dulce de leche were great. Casual South American style grilled meat and beer garden place located conveniently near the River Market area. Came here during a weekday noon, only 2-3 tables were dining for lunch. and one person was taking care of both the bar and the dining room. With more people came in I imagine more staff members would emerge.Drinks: Flyway honeybird blond ale, standard beer with a bit of toasted honey flavor. Great for summer time.Food: Had the skirt steak and chorizo (Argentinian style sausage). Not a combo, just a combination of two a la carte meat. Skirt steak ordered medium, came a bit more like medium well. The meat was still quite tender and juicy, probably tenderized and marinated beforehand. Seasoning was spot on, enough salty and spicy taste, with a hint of sweetness, beefy flavor still preserved. Chorizo tasted standard, could use a bit more beer flavor. The chumicchurri sauce was a bit too salty and not ehough garlic flavor for my taste. Also ordered the grilled veggie, a pleasant surprise. Zucchini and bell pepper are not easy to get done right, most places I've been to either did them too bland or overcooked to mush. The veggies today still packed some bite, was nicely seasoned, and went well with the meat. Dessert: chocolate gelato, actually tasted more like regular ice cream. Rich chocolate flavor though. Located in the River Market downtown, Buenos Aires Grill & Cafe is an authentic Argentinian restaurant. You'll find seven different kinds of empanadas, steak with chimichurri and a wide variety of drinks on the menu. I ordered the pulled flank sandwich, which came with a side of fries. The steak was chopped very finely and had that delicious chimichurri sauce on top. Fries were definitely made in house from fresh ingredients and had a great homestyle taste to them. We also got an order of empanadas as a starter and they were flakey and full of flavor as well. We had such a great meal and a great time tonight at Buenos Aires! Our server, Esperanza, was wonderful and an absolute pleasure to interact with. Her recommendations were on point, from the Argentinian Malbec to the empanadas to the quatro leches cake. You can't go wrong with any red wines or grilled items here, but our favorites of the night were the pulled flank empanada and the flank steak (with the chimichurri) and grilled shrimp (with that amazing red pepper relish). Ah such a cute little restaurant, my whole family left very happy. The service was so sweet and attentive , our waitress even got a water bowl for our dog. We ate outside because the weather was so nice and the heat lamps were adjusted accordingly for us.The Empanadas were well prepared. Each one was flavorful and crispy. In particular the spinach empanada stood out to me.The Vegetarian meal off the grill was very large. The plate of vegetables was beautifully prepared and delicious.
