We catered in Budd for our Super Bowl party and it was amazing. The mac & cheese with smoked breadcrumbs was the star of the show, but it was all delicious. And their smash burgers are SO good!! Dude. Dude!!! I just had their brisket at the Weichert Realtors Christmas party and it fell apart so delicious that I’m nearly falling apart! I’m notorious for being a slow, small plate eater, but I crushed that! I couldn’t stop. Absolutely 🔥. So delicious. 10 out of 10! More...

First time at Bud’s. Nice people, cool place and top notch barbecue.

The sliced brisket was tender enough to just use a fork! Great flavor and bark. The pulled pork was great too. It had some crispy ends as well which mix great with the tender fatty pieces. Wow!

The potato salad was awesome too.

We stopped in at Bud’s while out for living windows. Great atmosphere. The gentleman who took our order was helpful and friendly. Best brisket I’ve ever had! Ribs were delicious as were our sides. We will be back many times in the future. It was nice of the owner to stop by to check in on our experience. He also suggested a great BBQ to try while in KC (Harps) and he didn’t steer us wrong! Great food, great staff, and friendly owner. We visited while working in town and it was well worth it. The smoke rolling down the street drew us in and the welcoming demeanor of the owner kept us there. Texas style bbq at its finest!

First off they have the right beer for BBQ... Shiner Bock.
Second the owner was great. He made an effort to train the staff while they had time and went around and talked to every table. All staff was welcoming and nice to talk to.

Spicy bbq chicken tacos with crema are easily the best taco in Columbia. Melt in your mouth tender with an incredible smoke flavor followed by the zip of the spice. Highly recommend.

If my Columbia friends, or those near here, have not yet tried Bud’s BBQ downtown on 9th, you are missing out. The owner Jason has done this right. The brisket has a great bark, is moist, and melts in your mouth. While you don’t need the sauce served on the side, it too is really good- a thin red vinegar based sauce with a hint of sweetness. The portion size and expense are completely divorced from each other. The food was adequate (in a texas style) but $18 should get you more than 5 oz of meat, bread, and drink.

Service was fast and friendly. Probably a very cool bar, but look for dinner elsewhere. More...

Second time trying Buds. Went last weekend at 11:30am and we’re told they served breakfast until 2pm. Breakfast consisted of pancakes or biscuits and gravy. For a BBQ place, we found this odd. We left since we wanted to try their bbq.

Went tonight at 6:30pm. They were sold out of most sides. Slaw had no flavor. Beans were bland. Tots were the only good thing we had. Meat was dry. They only had 1 flavor of bbq sauce-which was not good.

Way over priced for what you get! For 3 meals, 2 sodas and 2 bar drinks it was over 100$! For that price you should get a waiter/waitress who comes to check on you and refill drinks. We had to ask for napkins. No one came around to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything.

Mixed bar drinks were premixed in a tap.

Fun atmosphere, but we won’t rush to go back. More...

The staff and the place was very adequate. A little loud inside for our taste, but there was nice outdoor seating.
However, I haven’t been so disappointed with the food at a restaurant in a long time.

They only meat they had left on a Tuesday at 730 was pulled pork (no problem, probably would have gotten it anyways). But it tasted sorta like canned pork and looked a little like it too in the shape of a scoop. When I saw it I thought it was tuna fish at first. Granted a few edges had a nice browning like smoked meat.
The macaroni and cheese under the pork was about fast food quality. The portions where small for the price. We got a side of fries and they were bland and just fair. I asked for ketchup and they scooped it out of a water pitcher from a cupboard under their counter! They serve French fries and don’t even offer ketchup.

But by far the tipping point was I have never tasted a barbecue sauce I disliked more. Maybe it’s just not my style but it tasted so strong of vinegar that I couldn’t even eat it.
Maybe it’s still early on and they’re working on things. But I doubt if I will be back. More...

I hate to give these guys a bad recommendation, because to be honest the taste of the food here is phenomenal, but for $16 a plate I expect more than less than 5oz of brisket and one side. Plus they charged $4 for Hamm's, which retails for less than a dollar a can! I understand restaurants have to do mark ups, and would have been happy to pay $2.50 for a Hamm's, but $4 for such a cheap beer is ridiculous. Is the food delicious? Absolutely! Their biscuits are amazing and the brisket was flavorful, tender and juicy! Is Bud's the best BBQ joint dollar for dollar in CoMO? Absolutely, positively "NO". My recommendation, lower your beer prices (400% mark up is highway robbery) increase your meat portion sizes, and offer two sides w/ your $16 menu price and I'd recommend this place all day everyday.
