We loved everything about Bryan and his photographs of our wedding. On our wedding day it downpoured and Bryan was still able to keep everyone energized, focused and having fun with his creativity at our wedding shoot. We were in communication with him for a year and a half between our engagement pictures, wedding photos and creation of our wedding album. He was consistently polite, responsive and professional in every correspondence to us. Hi!My fiance and I loved every bit of our Engagement/Save-the-Date photo shoot with Bryan! If I could give him 10 stars instead of 5, I certainly would. We knew that we were having our shoot in Chicago, by the lake, and in December. It was certainly cold, but at the perfect time, it started to snow once we got outside for the shoot. My fiance and I looked on Bryan's website and loved every bit of it. We contacted him and he responded in a timely fashion! We kept in contact (email and phone) and he was prompt on the day of. He was patient, not pushy; stern, not strict; and cared for quality with quickness (because of the cold), and was not at all sloppy. Bryan sat us down and set a game plan so we did not have to be out in the cold long. He was super great and knew the area. He knew exactly what places were good for pictures and at what angles we should be shot at. He's certainly professional, but fun too! He got to know us, and kept a level head. Knowing we were out in the cold, he knew what poses and where we should stand (along with little things - hair, hand, arm, leg move here, etc.) and was kindly vocal about it. Seriously, he knew his stuff. I would recommend him for everything and anything. He made us feel loved, silly, and special on this amazing journey my fiance and I are taking together.After the shoot, he took about a day to gather the pictures. He emailed me with distinct directions on how to transfer/download them, and then we had them! It was so quick! I was married yesterday, 9-27-13, and I LOVED all my vendors, but I think the most important vendor on your wedding day is your photographer. My mom recommended Bryan to me thru a friend of hers. She would not stop asking me if I met with Bryan Swisher. Finally, I did. Look no further, he is your ONLY choice. We looked at 3 photographers, and he was light years ahead of the other two in creativity, professionalism, flexibility, and speed. By speed, I mean he can come up with some AMAZING shots on the spot that will truly blow you away. He is pricey for my budget but WORTH every single penny. Your guests will have no idea that he is there; he is not intrusive in any way. He is so confident in his work, and incredibly charming and genuine. When you see his photo albums that he creates, you will not believe what he can do. My fiance wanted to try another photographer due to price, but we both decided that his professionalism and his immense creativity tipped the scales in his favor. I am OVERJOYED with my choice. Bryan, you are amazing, and I am so grateful that you spent a little extra time to get all of my reception shots. You took all the pictures we asked for and much more.

Bryan is amazing!  He put us at ease and got some truly beautiful shots.  He is an incredibly creative photographer.  Due to dress snafu, we lost about 30 minutes of photography time.  Bryan kept his cool and worked efficiently under the pressure--we got all the shots we wanted!  To top it off, Bryan is very personable and was a joy to have around on our special day.  He was never intrusive and the ultimate professional!  Hire him and you won't be sorry! I can't say enough about my experience working with Bryan. I met with several photographers before selecting him and it was a no brainer. My fiancé trusted my decision since he wasn't able to attend the meet and greet and he was thrilled too.

Bryan is very thorough, very attentive to what types of pictures we wanted and took the most fabulous photos. We had 10 kids in our wedding and he was awesome with them.

Well, Bryan did it again!  He did our engagement shoot, a bridal shoot with me, and   we just saw our wedding photos and are completely blown away.  I had a list of pictures I wanted to get from our big day and he got them all, I didn't even have to worry about it!  We couldn't be happier!  He is so easy to work with and our whole bridal party can't stop talking about how much fun they had taking the pictures!  He really captured every moment and everyones personalities.  If you are thinking or working with Bryan-don't think!  Book him now!  And feel free if you'd like to see some of our pictures from him I'd be more than happy to share :) More...

Like many couples, photography was one of the most important aspects of our wedding day.  I was getting pretty discouraged at the high prices of Chicago photographers, until we visited Bryan Swisher.  I was thrilled that his prices are reasonable (and less than a lot of Chicago photographers), he doesn't require that you sign up for expensive packages or albums upfront and his pictures are BEAUTIFUL.   But I ultimately chose him as our photographer because after talking with him, it was clear that he'd respect our schedule.  When I told other photographers that I didn't want the groom to see me before the ceremony, they whined that there wouldn't be enough time for pictures and tried to get me to change my mind and take pictures beforehand.  But Bryan didn't have that response - when I told him we'd only have an hour for pictures of the two of us (to be taken during cocktail hour) he said it was no problem and assured me we'd get plenty of great pics in that amount of time.  He didn't make it about him, instead he made it about us and our preferences, and I really appreciated that.  In addition, we did get TONS of great shots and I couldn't be happier with how all of our wedding pictures turned out!  Bryan is personable, professional, very efficient and overall just delightful to work with.  He did a great job of capturing our big day and I can't wait to put the albums together - I'm sure they'll look fantastic! From the start, we felt comfortable with Bryan.  Something we can NOT say for the other 5 photographers we met with before him.  Bryan made an effort to get to know us and have his photographs reflect our style / tastes. He was very accommodating in terms of our schedules and special requests.    Bryan never made us feel rushed or unimportant when we dealt with him.  Bryan has a calm confidence in his work and recommendations  that makes him an A+ vendor to work with when planning your wedding or party. My husband and I were referred to Bryan Swisher by friends, and it was the best decision we could've made. Our wedding photos were one of the most important things to me, personally, and I met with many photographers throughout our 18 months of being engaged. Many photographers were either out of budget, or so cheap that it made me nervous to book with them! I also had quite a few people tell me that my timeline for the wedding day would make it impossible to get the pictures I wanted. We did not want to see each other before the ceremony, and we only had an hour in between the ceremony and the reception to take photos together. Bryan was the first one to confidently say that he could get every picture I wanted in any time frame I gave him, and he did. Our pictures turned out BEAUTIFUL. His style is amazing, and he is so personable - everyone at the wedding enjoyed working with him. Most of the time, and specifically during the ceremony, no one even noticed he was there!!! I think that is incredibly important; I've been to weddings where the photographer has been in the way, or really obnoxious. He fit right into our day with our wedding party, families, and friends. We had all of our photos within 10 days of the wedding, and we're already starting to build our album! His services are affordable, and he does not pressure you to buy an album. In fact, you pay for the album after the wedding and do not have to commit to buying one before the wedding. That was something very unique. Bryan was fantastic! We planned our wedding in Chicago from Philadelphia and tried to organize everything from afar, including a photographer. We made it in for a quick weekend to plan, Bryan made time for us, showed us several different styles and helped us decide on a package that fit our budget, was easy to get ahold of by e-mail and was very flexible dealing with a large family and lots of different requests on our wedding day. He is great - we met with other photographers that were overpriced and overbearing, whereas Bryan was professional, easy to work with and we love our wedding album. Bryan is a great photographer, and very easy to work with. He takes suggestions well and can come up with great ideas for shots right on the spot. I had complete confidence in him photographing my wedding because he had done a friend's wedding already, so I had seen his work. So I have been that creepy yelper over the past year or so - reading reviews and talks without any input.  But that's b/c I was engaged and wedding planning.  Now that I'm married with a lot more free time, I will become the creepy yelper WITH input. Yay me.My first review had to be special - you always remember your first, right?  And I will always remember Bryan Swisher.I was shopping everywhere for an awesome, out of this world photographer.  I came across so many, but when I met them, it was like eh.... or they were out of this world pricey.  I actually came across Bryan through the Knot and then of course, I yelped him.  Although he didn't have many reviews (as to why is absurd!), he had GREAT ones and was voted best of the KNOT for 2 consecutive years (at the time) and now 2010 is his third year in a row!  We met and his personality, albums and style blew me away.  I just had that feeling, ya know.  When he was willing to negotiate and work with our style, I knew he was the one.  He did our engagement session and it was really good - we kept it simple, but he got some great ones!.  And the fact that you have the CHOICE to get an album AFTER was HUGE!  Most others come as a "package deal".  The flexibility to do after the wedding was a relief.Come the day of the wedding, he was so into everything (even in the heat) and had so many ideas!  He was creative, fun and enthusiastic.  He was EVERYWHERE and nowhere to be seen.  So I was making myself nervous (as all brides do) and  I'll admit I was mad at myself for not booking a 2nd guy...But when I saw the pictures...they blew my mind...they were AMAZING!  I mean - like ah-may-ZING!  I had to back track and think about what I was doing at that moment.  Straight up ninja stealth picture-taker extraordinaire!  The emotion that he captures is incredible.  The passion seen through his work is captivating.  The creative style so artistic...it moves you.  For real.  I can not recommend him enough.  And his personality shines.  There was no need for a 2nd guy.  He was like 5 in one.  And I love his cats. Did I mention he had the pictures up and ready less than a week later?  Yup, ALL 2,500 or so of them.  Yea, he's awesome.I can't wait to see him this week to put our album together, which is now a MUST after seeing his great work!  Thanks so much, Bryan! Photography was at the top of our list for our wedding.  From our first meeting, to the engagement photos, and the actual wedding day was AWESOME!  Bryan made us both feel at ease, and we had no doubt that our pictures were going to be great.  I received several compliments about Bryan on our wedding day, about being so nice, and that he really enjoys his job which he does!  I completely agree with Katie's reivew about being a guest at the wedding.  Our pics were posted as soon as we got home from our honeymoon, and there was not one bad shot.  Usually there are a few pics where you're like ugh "I look terrible" or one of your guests may say that,   honestly everyone looked great in the shots he took.  Fun, unobtrusive, professional, great demeanor are just a few of the words to describe Bryan...Bryan's work is superb, and we are so thrilled we picked him as our photographer for our wedding this past April! We used Bryan back in September 2007...before he became the award-winning Best of the Knot ;-)  He made me and my husband very comfortable during the engagement shots and did a fantastic job at the wedding.  Alot of the other posts talked about how affordable he is, and I think more than that is that he doesnt force you into a package with an album allowing you to pay for only what you want.  I thought I was going to scrapbook my wedding photos but after seeing what a fantastic job he did shotting the wedding photos, I had to get one of his albums.  The flexibility to pick out your album after you have seen the shots, and being able to buy the full resolution CD of images were big bonuses!!  He was fantastic and a friend of mine is using him in her wedding next summer! Bryan was so easy to work with. His studio is in Chicago (near downtown). Bryan took our engagement photo's which came out great. (See our picture) We returned from our honeymoon and he already had our photo's on a cd and ready to post on a website for guest to view. He was quick and we didn't even notice him at the reception because he was so professional and didn't bother us. The wedding photo's look straight out of a magazine. Everyone has been calling to tell us how beautiful they are. His visions are great and his work is fantastic! Worth every penny!!! We can't wait to get our Italian wedding album. More...

I totally agree with the previous post by Jennifer.  Most wedding photographers were out of our price range.  When I read a favorable review of Bryan on a wedding blog, I set up a meeting with him.  He was really great!  Not only were his prices reasonable, he worked hard to make sure that the photos he took were what we wanted as a couple.  The day of the wedding, Bryan was really unobtrusive during the ceremony and reception.  We hardly knew all the photos he was snapping.  He got a great variety of shots and was very creative as well.  We're super happy with how the photos came out and highly recommend him to others!  Thanks Bryan for all your great work! While I was searching for a wedding photographer I was shocked to see how much photographers cost. Most of the photographers we looked at were way out of our budget. I found a recommendation for Bryan on a wedding website and I am so glad we found him. Bryan did a great job on our pictures. He is very easy going and open to suggestions.
