Brown Butter Cakes

My fiancé and I ordered a cake tasting from Ms. Regina because we wanted a special cake for our engagement party and the flavors listed on her website caught our eye. We sampled four cakes (sweet potato, butter pecan, pecan pie, and salted chocolate caramel) and took care to sample both the cakes and the icing individually before eating. EVERY. SAMPLE. WAS. INCREDIBLE. We finally decided on Pecan Pie because we couldn't resist the filling in the middle. We ordered a 16 inch round cake, which I didn't even know they made. At the engagement party quite a few people told me the cake was too pretty to cut. One of the guests told me out loud that she wasn't leaving without some cake, and I needed to hurry up and cut it so she could take it home.
