Stuck with 20yr loan that costs double the price of utility power
We had a good start with Brio. Their friendly sales rep showed us how we would save because Brio's solar panels will cost the same as our current energy usage, loan terms were low, they'll do all our permit requests, even for our HOA, and help with securing tax rebates to offset some of the expense.
After about 6 months of waiting for the various permit processing our solar panels finally arrived and were installed, and we were all happy.
Or so we thought. Once Brio got our money and the loans started, things went pear-shaped. The panel array on our roof--supposed to cover our power needs--didn't even cover 30% of our needs. That power the panels generated also cost 2x the price than what we would've paid through our power utility. It took over a year of us repeatedly contacting Brio (most responses involved us needing to call a third party that was great in ignoring our pleas for help) before we got a defunct panel fixed. There is no contract where Brio lays out what our panels will produce--only a contract with a credit agency--so we're stuck with paying double the price of energy (once for the solar panel loan and again for the energy we have to purchase because the panels are insufficient despite claims they would meet our needs) for the next two decades!

Fort Collins Office- So far so good! I purchased solar from Brio after comparing a few other companies. Their warranty was by-far the best one I found, and the Sales Rep was knowledgeable and helpful. We are waiting on installation and I have high-hopes that it will happen soon after the permits come through from Fo Co Utilities. I was not planning on having solar at my house, until I had one of Brio's sales show up on my door. I was really impressed with his presentation, the company, and the benefits of having solar. Brio has been one of the best solar companies I’ve been with, not only did they give me a cheaper electrical bill but they also gave me a fixed flat rate ! Saving me hundreds of thousands in a matter of years. The staff is very knowledgeable and nice and installation was as easy as ever. And if you thought it ended there it gets even better , I got tax creds of 6500$ and it increased my property value by 30000$ , not to mention the 3,000$ rebate I got from duke , this is an all around great company and I would recommend it to everyone I could ! I was approached by a Brio Rep at my residence a few weeks ago. Honestly, I didn't know too much about Solar leading up to meeting him and I'm not the biggest fan of door to door salesman. Yet, he was very good and he took the time to make sure I understand what was happening. We set up appointment later in the week for me to meet with Brio about how solar would work for my house. The second representative was just as pleasant and patient and broke down everything to me. I told him to contact me in a few days while I thought it over. I had a door to door Salesman come by (Chris) and talk to me about going solar and I was very interested. I read some of the reviews online and got a little skeptical but wanted to follow through with the next step. Jeff called me to confirm the appointment and we chatted for a while about what the overall costs would look like. He was very honest and laid out everything including costs and financing. I decided that at this time, it would not make sense for me and my family to go solar; but having all the information about what it costs and what steps are involved makes me highly consider doing so on a future home purchase. Brio helped save me from a situation I didn't know I was getting into. I had two other bids from solar companies in Denver before I was approached by the Brio's sales team. Not only was Brio's proposal better than the others I have seen but they also helped me understand I would not qualify for the rebates and showed me how and the other companies said I did! I had a salesman come to my door. They had stopped by before but didn't reallly give them the time of day. The second time, I decided to hear them out and made an appointment. After hearing how the program worked it was an absolute no brained for me. The process for permits took a little longer then we had hoped , but within 3 months panels were up.
